  1. Anyone watching the Moon later at 4.51pm to see it turn red??? http://www.discoverychannelasia.com/eclipse/
  2. https://www.independent.co.uk/space/chandrayaan-3-budget-india-interstellar-b2399203.html Some houses cost less than Indian space agency spent on getting to the Moon India has successfully landed on the Moon – for less than the cost of the film Interstellar. The Indian space agency announced on Wednesday that it had completed a “soft landing” on the lunar surface, near its southern pole. It becomes the first ever to land there, and just the fourth country to successfully send a mission to the Moon at all. And it did so on a very restrictive budget. The Chandrayaan-3 cost was sent to the Moon at a cost of about 6.15 billion rupees, or $75 million, according to Reuters. That is less than the cost of most blockbuster space films. Gravity cost $100 million, The Martian cost $108 million – and it was less than half the cost of Interstellar, which was filmed on a budget of $165 million. It even costs less than some houses. The UK’s most expensive house, for instance, went on sale at £200 million, or nearly three-and-a-half missions to the Moon. The budget is even less than India allocated to Chandrayaan-2, the previous attempt to land on the Moon in 2019, which ended in failure when the lander crashed. That cost around 8 billion rupees, or about 30 per cent more than the latest successful mission, though engineers have made clear that many of the learnings from that earlier launch had been integrated into the latest one. India has looked to build a reputation for cost-effective but still successful missions to space. It comes as the country encourages investment in the private space industry and businesses focused on satellites. The price of the whole Indian mission is similar to that charged by SpaceX for one Falcon 9 launch. That is charged at $67 million, according to its website.

  5. Toyota has been reported to be working with Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency to develop a new vehicle for use on the moon. As reported by Sky News, the lunar rover will be used on their manned mission to the moon in 2030. Not much is known about the vehicle and how Toyota is involved in it, but if the information is true, Toyota could become the second automaker to put a vehicle on the moon. The first lunar vehicle was produced with the help of General Motors and it landed on the moon in 1971. Back it the day, it had four electric motors that produced 0.25bhp each and were powered by two 36 volt silver-zinc potassium hydroxide batteries. It allowed the crew of Apollo 17 to drive it for a total of 35.9 km with a total runtime of 4 hours and 26 minutes. More details about the moon vehicle is expected to emerge in a couple of weeks' time.
  6. First off the line since the Geely acquisition (49.9%) based on the Geely BoYue. not interested much in proton or geely but i have to admit it has a very striking exterior. The Boyue is designed by former Volvo designer Peter Horbury, its a five-seat C-segment SUV measuring 4.5 metres long. Engines range from 2.4 litre (162 hp/210 Nm) to 1.8 litre turbo (163 hp/250 Nm). already testing on MY roads though LHD. Targeting mass market. Will it be as ubiquitious as the 1st gen saga or myvi over there?

  12. Exploring the craters at the moon's north and south poles may be even more challenging than previously thought for future astronauts. New NASA calculations now show that solar wind streaming over the rough lunar surface may electrically charge polar craters on the moon. The moon's polar craters are of particular interest to researchers because resources, including water ice, exist at these lunar structures. The moon's orientation to the sun keeps the bottoms of polar craters in permanent shadow, allowing temperatures there to plunge below minus 400 degrees Fahrenheit (minus 240 degrees Celsius), cold enough to store volatile material like water for billions of years. "However, our research suggests that, in addition to the wicked cold, explorers and robots at the bottoms of polar lunar craters may have to contend with a complex electrical environment as well, which can affect surface chemistry, static discharge, and dust cling," said William Farrell of NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Md., the lead author of the study. These new observations contribute to our evolving understanding of the moon, said Gregory Schmidt, deputy director of the NASA Lunar Science Institute at NASA's Ames Research Center in Moffett Field, Calif. "This important work by Dr. Farrell and his team is further evidence that our view on the moon has changed dramatically in recent years," Schmidt said. "It has a dynamic and fascinating environment that we are only beginning to understand." Solar wind hits the moon Solar wind is a thin stream of electrified components of atoms

  14. Dear all I see some commercial vehicles on the road, mainly vans, have the sun visor at the top oft he windscreen. Where is this available? I have attached an example. Thanks.
  15. Yup! It's taking place this evening around 7.30pm local time. (9 Oct 2009) This probe is going to crash into the moon in an effort to determine whether water exists. Stay tuned to the NASA website for a "live" feed of the crash! BOOMZ!
  16. Saw the Ads in the papers. After so many years, looks like Ou Xuan has replaced Fann as the new face for New Moon. A young star replacing a old one.
  17. I find it WEIRD that so much coincidence that those tapes cannot be found and it will only adds fire to the speculation that moon landing was indeed a fake. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090716/ap_on_..._sci_moon_video Nafzger said a huge search that began three years ago for the old moon tapes led to the "inescapable conclusion" that 45 tapes of Apollo 11 video were erased and reused "It's surprising to me that NASA didn't have the common sense to save perhaps the most important historical footage of the 20th century," said Rice University historian and author Douglas Brinkley. He noted that NASA saved all sorts of data and artifacts from Apollo 11, and it is "mind-boggling that the tapes just disappeared." http://www.ufos-aliens.co.uk/cosmicapollo.html

  21. http://www.news.com.au/heraldsun/story/0,2...5005961,00.html [/color] THE moon will fall into Earth's deep shadow on Tuesday, taking on a lustrous red or orange hue during the second total eclipse of 2007. Star gazers will be able to watch as our planet's natural satellite is consumed by celestial dragons, as the Chinese once thought. Those in the Pacific basin, from eastern Australia to the west coast of the north America, will be treated to the full eclipse at 10.37 GMT (8.37pm AEST) and a couple hours before sunrise in Los Angeles and Vancouver. The perfect spot for spectators will be French Polynesia, according to NASA, but the eclipse will not be visible at all in Europe or Africa. The moon does not disappear from view during a full eclipse, but is shielded by Earth for about 90 minutes from the sun's direct light. The longest possible duration for the total phase is 107 minutes, and last occurred in July 2000. A total eclipse can only take place at full moon, and only if the moon passes through the zone, called the umbra, in which the Earth blocks all of the sun's rays. The colour cast by refracted light - which can range from bright orange to blood red to copper to dark grey - depends on the amount of volcanic gas and dust in the atmosphere blocking the sun's light. In the absence of recent eruptions, the moon should be a vivid red or orange, according to NASA. Total lunar eclipses normally occur roughly every couple of years, but this year there will have been two, the other having taken place on March 3. The next chance to see the moon slip entirely into terrestrial shadows will be on February 21, 2008, but after that the wait is longer: December 2010. Further details on these eclipses and information on eclipses in general can be found on http://sunearth.gsfc.nasa.gov/eclipse/lunar.html
  22. read a news on LianHe zaobao: a lot Singaporean study at Ang Mok countries, and got drive licence there but learned under auto gear car which translate to Singapore drive licence call Class 3A, once they came back Sigapore, just past BT then can convert to Singapore Drive licence, but Singapore TP though Ang Mok's moon more round than Singapore just closed eyes to issue Class 3 licence to them, so bad to them recently some of them occasionally drive manual cars, problems happened you can imagine the scene
