508 Mondeo C5 CC Which alternative continental sedan will you pick?I take the new Mondeo though I have some reservations about its blatant Aston Martin copied front grille.

Which car is more worth it considering the ford mondeo now at 161 with Arf $30k and S60 event car at $180k but arf s21k. Drive wise I think s60 is more responsive at 6.5s 0-100kmh but ford is also similar in bhp but still 6spd vs S60 8spd. I ask Volvo if it is the same as BMW 8Spd they not sure. The mondeo is very spacious considering with full sun roof for the 5door version.

Ford 1.0-litre EcoBoost wins "International Engine of the Year" award again
SYF77 posted a blog entry in MyAutoBlog
Ford's 1.0-litre EcoBoost engine has won the "International Engine of the Year" award for the second consecutive year. Not only that, the turbocharged, direct-injection three-cylinder engine achieved the highest score in the 15 year history of the awards. "With a technology as mature as the internal combustion engine, it's very rare to achieve a true breakthrough, but that is exactly what the team accomplished with this engine," said Joe Bakaj, Ford Vice President, Global Powertrain. "You have to drive it to believe a small three-cylinder engine can deliver such performance and fuel economy." A panel of 87 automotive journalists from 35 countries around the world judged the awardees based on drivability, performance, economy, refinement and the successful application of advanced engine technology. The 1.0-litre EcoBoost engine is currently offered in cars such as Fiesta, B-MAX and the Focus. In the near future, it will also power larger cars including the new Ford Mondeo. The rest of the award winners are as follows: New Engine Ford three-cylinder turbo (Focus) Green Engine General Motors 1.4-litre range extender (Chevrolet Volt, Opel Ampera) Performance Engine Ferrari 4.5-litre V8 (458 Italia) Sub 1.0-litre Ford three-cylinder turbo (Focus) 1.0-litre to 1.4-litre Volkswagen 1.4-litre TSI Twincharger 1.4-litre to 1.8-litre BMW-PSA 1.6-litre turbo gasoline 1.8-litre to 2.0-litre BMW 2.0-litre twin-turbo four-cylinder gasoline 2.0-litre to 2.5-litre Audi 2.5-litre five-cylinder turbo (TT RS, RS3 Sportback) 2.5-litre to 3.0-litre BMW 3.0-litre bi-turbo six-cylinder (1 Series M Coupe, 335is, Z4 35is) 3.0-litre to 4.0-litre BMW M 4.0-litre V8 (BMW M3) Above 4.0-litre Ferrari 4.5-litre V8 (458 Italia) -
Just traded in the family car and got a resale Ford Mondeo V6 MK3. All the cars in the family have always been Japanese cars... and i know nuts about Ford. Anyone can advise me on the following questions? 1) Mileage to change timing belt? 2) Any pro Ford workshop to recommend? 3) Anything in particular i need to watch out for? 4) Who are the stockists for Ford? Btw, anyone has lowering springs or coilovers for the Mondeo for sale? Thanks in advance...

Ford's Kinetic 2.0 design is set onto upcoming Mondeo
FaezClutchless posted a blog entry in MyAutoBlog
Ford will revealed the next Mondeo, which features a high-tech cabin and efficient engines, at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2012. Featuring styling cues from the Evos concept car, Ford is hoping to shift consumers perception of the Mondeo from a daily drive to a more sporty and aggressive image. The new Mondeo gets Ford's Kinetic 2.0 design (which was introduced during this year's Frankfurt Motor Show) which includes inverted trapezoidal grille and narrow headlights. But the look is about much more than simply the blue oval -
I will be going on a Business + Leisure trip to UK next week. The stay would be more than a month and need to hire a car for visiting places such as the Scottish highlands as well as some English National parks. The car is to carry only two passengers, me and wify. My budget would be good for an Audi A3 1.4TFSI or Ford Mondeo tdi. Having to choose between the two is kind of tough for me now. My wife prefers the Mondeo as she likes big and steady car for long distance but I would love to handle the Audi Hatch on the country winding roads which I have never done before. Which of the two would you choose?

Which would you choose? My choice would be Mondeo

Hi one and all.... i'm held between these 2 cars.... and would wanna know what would your choices be.... i personally like the Passat CC purely for it's external sleek looks.... however, the boring interior design, as well as cramp rear seats, make this car an impractical car especially for family use.... as for the Ford Mondeo, i'm really looking forward to the 2.0EcoBoost model with 201bhp and 6AT.... the outgoing 2.3Duratec 161bhp just isn't enough for the huge Mondeo body.... i like the Mondeo for its executive looks without breaking the bank, as well as a unique interior, that is both well made and rather stylish at the same time.... the rear seats are also really spacious enough for my family to fit in....

Ford of Europe has dropped the first official photos of the refreshed 2011 Mondeo, along with some details on the mechanical updates. The only substantive visual change is a reshaped front fascia with a larger trapezoidal lower grille similar to the Fiesta and the upcoming 2012 Focus, as well as reworked driving lights. Behind that new grille, Ford has added the same type of active shutters the Focus is getting to restrict air-flow at higher speeds or colder temperatures, reducing turbulence and aerodynamic drag. The revised Mondeo gets two new powertrain options, including a more powerful 237 horsepower version of the 2.0-liter Ecoboost inline-four that debuted earlier this year. At 179 grams per kilometer of CO2 emissions, the new Ecoboost will have the same fuel consumption as the lower power unit and 20 percent less than a V6 of similar power. The Ecoboost engines are mated to a six-speed dual-clutch Powershift gearbox similar to the unit that just debuted in the Fiesta in North America. The second new engine is a reworked 2.2-liter diesel inline-four that now puts out 197 hp, a 12 percent bump from the previous edition.

Following its introduction on the facelifted S-MAX and Galaxy people carriers, Ford's European division is expanding the availability of the new 2.0 litre EcoBoost petrol engine that combines turbocharging and direct fuel injection to the Mondeo. The 2.0 litre SCTi unit, which comes as standard with a six-speed PowerShift wet double-clutch gearbox, produces 203 horsepower at 5,500 rpm and 300 Nm of torque from 1,750 to 4,500 rpm. It propels the Mondeo saloon from 0 to 100km/h in 7.9 seconds (Station Wagon: 8.2 sec) with a top speed of 232 km/h (Station Wagon: 227 km/h). It returns a combined fuel economy of 7.7lt/100km. In addition to the new Ecoboost powerplant, the MY2010 Mondeo also benefits from an upgraded 2.0-litre Duratorq TDCi diesel engine that has been reworked to match Stage V emission regulations in Europe. The diesel unit is offered in three flavors with 115HP, 140HP and a new variant with 163 HP. The two most powerful engines are also available with the optional PowerShift six-speed double-clutch transmission.

The Ford Mondeo brings back some old memories for me. I still remember when it was launched in Singapore some 2 years ago, I was so eager to see it that I brought my former girlfriend to Regent Motors when we were on a date. Fast forward to present, spy shots of the facelifted 2011 Mondeo have surfaced six weeks before its introduction in Geneva. These photos were captured during the cold weather testing along European route E45, a road that runs from the northern Sweden/Finland border down to the southern tip of Sicily, Italy. The above image shows the model powered by the TDCi engine. This may be of little relevance to Singapore, but don't despair. Look for the 2011 model year Mondeo to get the Galaxy facelift's 200-horsepower 2.0-liter Ecoboost engine mated to a six-speed dual-clutch transmission. Now, this sounds like an interesting combination that will pack the new Mondeo with enough arsenal against other European mid-sized sedans such as the Opel Insignia and VW Passat. Eventually, a four-cylinder 1.6-liter Ecoboost unit producing up to 180 hp may also be offered. Under the Kinetic Design scheme, Ford engineers included a new front bumper with other changes such revised LED rear clusters and a new grill. Changes to the rear bumper are also possible, and interior upgrades are anticipated. The Mondeo is a rare sight in Singapore. I am not sure why this is so but during my short visit to the showroom, the car feels very well put together with top notch soft touch plastics. Let's hope that the new drivetrain will help to drive up the sales of the Mondeo in Singapore. Good luck Regent Motors!

See link: http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/news/autoexpr...urbo_boost.html Alongside an updated range of four-cylinder diesels, Ford will offer super-efficient direct-injection, turbocharged EcoBoost petrol engines that give a 20 per cent reduction in fuel consumption and CO2 emissions, while providing the same power as larger-capacity units currently on sale. Three engines are planned, starting with a 1.6-litre offering between 150bhp and 180bhp, and scheduled to debut in the C-MAX next year. There will also be a 2.0-litre producing upwards of 200bhp

I'm very surprised that Mondeo is now selling at 89k, same price during the period when COE was very low. Tho i must say the OMV at 25k is considered low, prob thanks to the better x-change rates, but at this price, it is certainly a good bargain and alternative to the Camry. hey it is even cheaper than Mazda 6! and yes, only 3k more than the Skoda Octavia....but of cos Octavia has higher OMV... It is quite a good bargain...in fact a VERY good bargain I think, esp with skyrocketing COE premium

Ford Mondeo has been the best buy in UK. see link: http://www.whatcar.com/car-reviews-by-type.aspx?RG=3 What is your comments if compare that with Singapore typical Japanese large family sedan like Accord, Camry, Teana, Mark X etc? Yestersay saw a new Mondeo at my MSCP. Look chio and fresh as compare with the typical Japanese large sedans on the road.
