i came across a few members (very few) here mentioned about mixing a small portion of 2T into the petrol tank of a car to achieve better engine protection and cooler engine operating temp. I only know that it is very common to do this for motorbike but seldom came across people doing it for a car? what could be the potential side effect other than damage to the cat converter? anyone care to share?

Said the STOMPer: "I was going through Facebook and I saw this kid cursing his mother for putting his clothes in the wrong place, causing him not being able to get to work." "There are too many spoilt Singaporean kids nowadays."

Hi, Recently I changed my tyres and it came filled with Nitrogen gas. However, when I sent in for my routine servicing at my AD workshop last month, the guys there told me they don't have Nitrogen gas n hence will not touch my tyres as the readings will be very different on the sensor. My Qns: - If that is the case, can I still go to the petrol kiosk n pump in normal air? n Should I follow strictly to 230? (I used to pump 230 on my old tyres) - My old 15" I used to pump 230, I just upsize to 16"..do I still pump at the same amount? ie. 230. Thanks

dunno if this been posted here, but looks disgusting. http://wineanddine.asiaone.com/Wine%252CDi...0313-54189.html JOHOR - SOME hawkers in Johor Baru are literally cooking popular snacks such as goreng pisang and keledek with melted plastic, creating a health scare, a news report said. The News Straits Times reported recently that e-mails on the unethical practice have been circulating to warn people of the potential health hazards of eating extra crispy fried snacks or even chicken. The e-mails describe how some hawkers had been seen adding plastic straws and bottles into boiling oil before frying their snacks. The snacks would then remain crispy for several hours. Factory worker Rauf Hamdan, 24, was cited by the newspaper as one of the 'witnesses'. Mr Rauf said he saw a goreng pisang seller in Johor Baru throw a plastic bottle into boiling oil. "When I asked the hawker about it, he just said matter-of-factly that his customers had not complained of any health hazards from eating his goreng pisang." "He also said this 'recipe' was now popular among many hawkers like him." Plastic bottles are made of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) which can cause various forms of cancer and birth deformities if ingested. According to the e-mails cited by New Straits Times, the trend allegedly started in Thailand, for frying ikan bilis and onions. It spread to Kedah and Perlis, then the rest of the country, the report said. Another witness said via email that his uncle had allegedly seen a goreng pisang seller adding plastic drinking straws into hot oil in Perlis. According another e-mail, a hawker in Cameron Highlands allegedly melted a five-litre empty cooking oil bottle in boiling oil by stirring it in, New Straits Times reported. Similar accounts are spreading among blogs. The Consumers Association of Penang research officer T. Subbarao said that the agency would launch an immediate investigation.

Hello to all... I've recently started the trend of pumping JB fuel. I've pumped Shell 95 all along and I've mixed it with Caltex 97 while I was in JB for fuel for the first time. Subsequently, I've been using Shell 97. Any implications with me doing this? Is it alright to mix petrol of different octane grade? Was thinking of pumping V-Power the next time round I'm inside. Please advise. Thanks.

Hi all, been searching high and low for red coloured coolant. Been to Esso, Shell, Mobil, Caltex, all selling green coloured ones.... one Shell guy even tell me to mix. But I read from the web that mixing is not good, something to do with the radiator and being oil-based. Today was told by a mech that can mix blue coolant with red.... so whats it with the colours..... he was telling me blue works for aluminium radiator or what...with oil-based..... u cannot mix red with green.... any gurus?

Dear ICE gurus, have a question to ask on behalf of a friend who is planning on installing a PC with GPS into his car. His car's sound system currently comprises simply of a Blaupunkt DAB HU and stock speakers. Would it be possible for the system to be wired up such that he would be able to listen to both sources (HU and PC) at the same time? If it is, what would be required? He basically wants to be able to listen to cds/radio from the HU while getting driving directions from the GPS system at the same time. If the above is not possible or practical for any reason, kindly suggest any alternative methods he could use instead? Thanks in advance

Hi all! Just to check, have anyone thought of mixing the different grades of petrol eg. Shell 98 with Shell 95? I was at my mech yesterday and met this guy who is supposedly an engine oil expert and supplier... He'd posed me this question if I had thought of mixing the different grade of petrol... I then asked him what is the benefits of mixing it and he said that it'll give good FC and millege... So wonder if anyone knows the answer or have an answer to it... According to him, he says it does and is good... On his Euro Accord that he drives lah.. Also he said that putting Superione cause the cam and valve to be damaged due to leaner air... Any idea if it's true? Mooooooooooooooo

Anyone tried mixing the both together? Read from some foreign forums that some people actually mix the 2 products and use it as a 1 time application. Wonder if it really works?
-
Have you heard? have you seen? have you experienced? I catch many mechanics in SG and AU doing this all the time on other peoples cars, they charge you for fully synthetic oil, yet top up your car with mineral oil. They do it ALL the time. the only way to make sure is that you physically see them pour the good stuff in.

hi all, my size is 195/55/15. currently using ST115. Realised that i need to change 2 front tires - uneven wear and tear. the 2 rear ST115 still can used. I have plenty of reviews/comments about other tires like GR80, GIII, Pilot, C-Drive.... etc etc... i'm thinking of not getting ST115.... back side itchy, want to try other brands. my question is which tires i can buy, to match my 2 ST115? in terms of looks, performance, and of course PRICE! and what tires have my rim size? I dun want to end up 2 new tires and put together with ST115, the car looks kinda funny.... machiam misfit case.
