Mitsubishi Motors has revealed the first official photo and initial details of the brand new Attrage compact sedan. The car is the production version of the G4 concept which was displayed at the 2013 Bangkok Motor Show. Mitsubishi said the name 'Attrage' is derived from the word 'attractive'. Mitsubishi claims that the Attrage will deliver 'driving pleasure thanks to agility and pleasing driving dynamics'. Powering the Attrage is a 1.2-litre 3A92 three-cylinder MIVEC unit which churns out 76bhp at 6,000rpm and 100Nm at 4,000rpm. The engine is mated to a choice of CVT or five-speed manual transmission as standard. Based on the Mirage hatchback, the compact sedan measures only 4,095mm, which is about 300mm shorter than its close rival, the Toyota Vios. There are no interior photos of the new sedan at the moment but Mitsubishi says that the car offers generous rear seat legroom. The new model will be launched in Thailand come July 2013.

A few days after Mitsubishi showed an official photo of the new Attrage, the brochure of the new model has leaked onto the internet. As the compact sedan will be produced at Mitsubishi Motors Thailand's factory at the Laem Chabang plant, the brochure is printed in Thai. However, we can still make some sense out of it. The Attrage will be available in three trims, namely the GLX, GLS and the top-end GLS Ltd. The GLS models will be equipped with twin airbags while the GLX makes do with just a driver's airbag. The GLS Ltd variant will get a Start/Stop button, reverse camera and MP3/DVD/Bluetooth function. The buyer can choose from six different body colours. Mitsubishi claims that the attrage can achieve a fuel consumption figure of 22km/L, which is superior to its rivals, the Nissan Almera and Honda Amaze. The car is powered by a 1.2-litre three-cylinder MIVEC engine which is good for 78bhp and 100Nm of torque. Transmission options include CVT and a five-speed manual.

Just a couple of weeks ago, Mitsubishi teased us with images of its new compact sedan. It came with four doors and it seemed to be only as big as, if not smaller than, the Chevrolet Sonic or the Renault Symbol. However, the wait is over and now, we've finally got to see what the latest compact sedan from Mitsubishi will actually look like. Planned to bow at the 2013 Shanghai Auto Show, official images of the car have spread across the World Wide Web. The car is to be called the G4 Concept at the automotive exhibition in China that will take place later this April. According to the Japanese automaker where the car comes from, the Mitsubishi G4 Concept will feature high clarity diamond headlamps and front grille that are cut brilliantly. In addition to that, Mitsubishi also claims that the rear combination taillights will have a sharp impression left behind as the car heads away out of sight. Judging from the images, the exterior of the Mitsubishi G4 Concept looks sporty somehow with the sporty front bumper design, side skirts, and a sporty rear bumper. There's also a spoiler trunk lid featuring a highly mounted (seemingly LED) brake lamp. The automaker is planning to sell this model globally so we should also see one on our shores when it's finally marketed. If you're curious about what it has under its hood, well, the model will feature a MIVEC engine with a displacement capacity of 1,200cc. It will be mated to a CVT transmission and the body of the car will be equipped with RISE (Reinforced Impact Safety Evolution) technology. Well, it's up to Mitsubishi to claim that the car will leave a sharp impression. Yet, from what we've seen on the images, there's just too much blue on it. The headlamps feature a blue colour and so do the front grille, front fog lamps, and even the rear combination taillights. Honestly, it looks kind of tacky.

This really doesn't fall under maintenance category and I can't find any relevant category for this. LOL!!! So I thought I might as well post it here. I'm trying to get car mats with Mivec embossed on it. Yeah I drive a Lancer Mivec. Any help is much appreciated.

Oredi put signal ready to filter to lane 2 for u to overtake liao....still u choose to ride in between lane 1 & 2......duno wtf u want. That guy in front oredi turn off turf club exit....u loser. haha. While overtaking still bio my whole family inside the car......wah lou!!! Now u piss my OC off liao lor. Mitsubishi has released the first details on its next generation 1.8 liter gasoline engine codenamed "4J10" that incorporates a new version of the company's MIVEC variable valve timing system. The new engine also marks the introduction of a new Auto Stop & Go (AS&G) idle-stop technology. The new 4J10 four cylinder petrol with AS&G techology will make its debut in Japan this month on the domestic market RVR, Galant Fortis and Galant Fortis Sportback. This will be followed by the international variants of the aforementioned models. Mitsubishi says that with this combination, the three models show a 12% improvement in fuel efficiency in the Japanese 10-15 mode driving cycle. One of the most important features of the new 1.8-liter engine is the latest iteration of the company's MIVEC system that continuously regulates intake valve lift, opening duration and timing. Before the 4J10, Mitsubishi employed two types of MIVEC systems - one that switches between different valve lifts and valve opening durations according to engine speed; another that varies the valve opening timing on a continuous basis. The new MIVEC system combines the above 2 systems. In JDM specification, the 1.8 liter SOHC unit is rated at 139hp at 6000 rpm and 172Nm at 4,200 rpm. The specs are comparable to Honda

Read somewhere that the Colt's MIVEC engine does not have any Variable Valve Timing feature. Its just for "branding". Anyone can confirm ?

Hi All My car is almost due to scrap now and contemplating of either a 2nd hand SIR or MIVEC. Seen some postings here and know that there are some die-hard SIR and MIVEC fans out there. As I am looking at manual only, but not quite sure which is more reliable and powerful. Hopefully you guys can help me. Understand from some of my friends that Mitsubishi's ECU is always giving problem and costly to replace. SIR generally comes in top on my list apart from being a BENG'S CAR but these are the best 1.6 that I know of. Any other suggestions are also welcome. I have also considered a conti before, but am too afraid the maintenance will kill me ............ Please comment.

Hi, anyone cares to talk more about these 4 differences in LAY MAN TERMS >.. what I know is that for Mivec and Vtec they are using 2 cam profile where at 5500 RPM (can be adjusted) it kicks in and open the 3rd cam to allow more fuel and air to combust ... is that true? But cannot find anything for VVL leh ... By the way anyone know which car in singapore using VTEC, Mivec, VVTi and VVL ?

Galant Bros, Could any one advise some good rims upgrade for YR 2000 Galant MIVEC ( 4 x 114.12 PCD )? Looking for 17" or 18" rims. I have a friend who is looking for an upgrade for his stock 15". He is kind of interested with OZ rims but South East Tyre say that it is not available in 17" or 18" (no longer available). I wonder how true is this? Any advise for tyre shop as well ? ( been to South East Tyre already ) Any Galant owners out there with good good recomendations? Thanks in advance.

i know this has be talked about many many times but wat different is the technology? all variable valve timing rite? how come vtech so much more bhp than vvti???
