Road tax and insurance expiry mismatch question
LookingBusy posted a topic in General Car Discussion
Hi all, my road tax is expiring on 19 March 2013, and my insurance on 09 Jul 2013. I will need to renew my road tax very soon, and from what i understand, i need to renew my insurance too to match with the road tax. I intend to renew my road tax for 6 months which will expire on 18 Sep 2013 (if i calculate correctly). What should i do as regarding to my insurance? Do i call up the insurance coy and ask to extend for another 2 months? I bought my insurance through my used car dealer company (third party) from AXA. In this case, do i call directly to AXA for an extension or do i need to call my car dealer company and which they will liaise with AXA themselves for me? Please advise. Thank you all. -
Having this issue where my road tax expires earlier than my insurance. Road tax expire Sep Insurance due Oct Now my insurance company quoted me 5 months of renewal to come in line with next road tax expiry. But they based on my previous P-plate price which was sky high. I've asked for budgetary which other insurance could quote me easily 30% lower given i'm out of P-plater and also reached 30yrs with 10% NCD. Any chance of avoiding getting chopped by my current insurer?

Yesterday I decided to take out my spare tyre in order to save some weight. Although I was not too surprised that the spare tyre is a different model, I was more surprised it's a completely different size! My FD comes with a 16 inch wheel, and the spare tyre looks more like a 14 inch when stand side by side. I was wondering what good does it do anyway if I install the mismatched tyre in case of a puncture. The trip with 1 odd wheel to the workshop to fix the tyre would probably do more harm than good. So anyway, I saved a few kilograms, and touch wood should I encounter a tyre puncture, I'll call the tow trucks.

Would like to know what are the effects of mismatching amp and sub? I meant the rms rating thingy, if one is much higher than the other and vice versa. Sorry for the noob question.
