Quite a healthy lifestyle, never over or under weight all my life. Don't drink or smoke and does half marathon runs weekly. Recently I had a bad issue of upper right back pain (close to spine C7 or T1) and right chest pain (close to Sternum, slightly higher than nipple). Sometimes the pain can extend all the way to the back of my upper right arm and behind the armpit. Saw 2 doctors, took Xrays of right chest and all just gave me anti inflammatory medicine and muscle rub. Breathing is painful, deep breaths are even worse. Many times the pain feels worse after waking up from sleep (why is that so?) Doctors told me it should be cartilage of the ribs and back muscles that are inflamed and overworked. Took the medicine for 2 months and the medication doesn't seem to work. Occasionally it seems to bring down the pain but it will come right back soon after (even without me exercising). Have anybody here deal with this type of pain and how did you manage to overcome the problem? Thanks in advance.

Lately, I realised that my younger boy seemed to be intriqued by the ceiling in the bedroom. He's 3 half years old by the way and his attention when looking at the ceiling can be quite unnerving. He will stare blankly at a certain spot until we call him then his focus will shift away from it. My wife and I tried many times to ask him what he's staring but he will just keep mum. What adds to our worry is that the linkway between Tampines Mall and Century Square which has become our weekly affair for shopping, my young one would be very disturbed and would close his eyes tightly whenever we passed through that walkway. After that he'll be fine. I've heard that kids his age are more 'prone' to seeing these 'things'. Perhaps, I should seek a medium to see what's at the ceiling that's getting his attention every night. Any medium to recommend?

Siah Kwang Yung, 40, admitted to raping an 18-year-old girl on September 12 last year at about midnight. Investigations showed that the victim's mother is deeply religious and that she has been practising as a medium for the past nine years. On September 5, the mother chanced upon Siah, who was offering fortune-telling services at a make-shift stall along Waterloo Street. Siah convinced the victim's mother that a demon had possessed her body and was the cause of her bad luck. On September 7, Siah visited the woman's flat and said he had to stay there to exorcise the demons in the house. On September 12, Siah made his move on the victim. He told the victim's mother, her boyfriend, the victim's brother and his friend to stay out of the girl's room. Then Siah proceeded to rape the victim in her bedroom. Earlier in court, the prosecution pointed out several aggravating factors in the case. The prosecution said Siah abused the family's trust in him and manipulated them. In fact, Siah had brazenly asked the victim's mother if he could perform a ritual with the victim naked. His request was rejected by the mother. The prosecution described Siah's act as despicable and asked for a sentence significantly higher than the benchmark of 10 years' jail and six strokes of the cane. The maximum penalty for the offence under 375(2) of the Penal Code is 20 years' imprisonment with a fine or caning. - CNA/wm None win ...... Fancy a medium would believe a fortune teller ....
