  1. Ok, I presented my neck for "execution", and here is my review.. As compared to the FDL without dyno, I feel that the current package is much better though it costs a bit more. I was able to see the result practically in real time. Baseline readings are taken, after which little tweaks are carried out to Air/fuel ratio. After each adjustment, the car is dynoed again to check for the result. However, the dyno chart results were rather disappointing, frankly. The increase in torque was abt 3-4 kg/m from 50-54kg/m or so.. I actually forgot the exact peak horsepower increase, maybe 2-3 PS at most. The torque increase was across 2000-4500rpm IIRC. which made for better driveability. Joey explained that my car was running pretty close to max power for the current state of hardware mods. If u are interested, i'm running a simota carbon enclosed cone filter (commonly called "Carbon Charger") and a CAI. Stock extractor, operated straight thru rear muffler. that's all.. Fellow owners of Getz 1.1 even picanto should think twice if they are hoping for all-out top end power (which is pathetic anyway due to our puny engines). Road test, torque is much better but not very stunning. I should say that the improvement in pickup is smooth and effortless but not tt impressive for the moolah spent. The best thing by far about this tuning is that a little prod of the accelerator is enough, as compared to before. At anything below WOT, the improvement is very noticeable. at WOT however, the improvement is rather marginal. Joey said that open loop maps are safety maps and thus suggested that i use 1/2 to 3/4 opening of throttle. I wonder if the WOT settings can be further improved 0-100 test: Before: Test conducted with one passenger (also the timer, additional 55kg) at my usual "drag strip". timing was abt 15-16seconds. Don't laugh, it's a 1.1 liter 12v SOHC engine After: Test conducted without passenger, i did self timing with my right hand on the phone and steering wheel . Location and conditions identical. timing was around 14s flat (ranged from 13.65 which i was highly suspicious of, to 14.7 seconds). However, I am not sure how much my gf affects century sprint timings, so again, this is not very conclusive. Will update once I get the chance to go and re-test again with her. Verdict: at $819 (780 + GST as stated in the Website), I didn't find this fantastic value. But to be fair, I place more value on all-out power which didn't improve by much. Have not driven enough to test for FC (and obviously my current tank will be way off) but I do forsee some improvements in this area. Saw another Lancer owner who did quickflash. His was a CVT lancer with open pod . After the QF, he reported marginal gains. Perhaps this mod has been overhyped, though I will vouch that it is most definitely not snake oil. And you can see the result on the dyno if u hang around. If u want to be sure that you will get your $$ worth, test out two similar setups, one with tuning, and one without. compare them to ur ride. Your car could be performing well and not as able to maximise the tune up, or it might really make a big difference.
  2. Can someone recommend any wide band O2 controllers w/ Bosch sensor + logging? It is for DIY ECU tuning with E-Manage. I'm about to buy one from zeitronix.com for 280USD, but I want to check if there are alternatives in Singapore, as my family is visiting me soon. If you know any Singapore tuning forums such as Evo or WRX groups, please inform me. thanks.
