http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Multiple_sclerosis Girl Who Can’t Feel Legs Due To MS Pursues Dreams Of Running Track Joseph Milord Source: http://elitedaily.com/sports/kayla-montgomery-champion-track-star-video/864139/ Kayla Montgomery is more than a high school track star. After being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis four years ago, Montgomery has almost unfathomably defied the odds to become a state champion long distance runner. Her success, however, does not come without a cost. Because of the disease, Kayla cannot run without experiencing the heat triggered symptoms of MS, which include loss of feeling in her legs. Because of these symptoms, she is not able to come to a full, concentrated and calculated stop after she finishes a race, leaving her to resort to falling at the finish line, where her coach is there to catch her each time. Still, she has made her mark as one the top runners in the country. For as good as her résumé is as a competitor, though, her story is even better. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P_dMrFx1mlE

SMRT has offered the Thai teen who lost both her legs in an MRT accident here a compensation of $5,000. However, 14-year-old's father has rejected the amount as it is 'unacceptable'. On April 3, Peneakchanasak Nitcharee pitched forward onto the MRT tracks at Ang Mo Kio station. Since then, she has recovered well in Tan Tock Seng Hospital and has been undergoing physiotherapy. According to a report in The Straits Times today (June 12), Mr Peneakchanasak engaged a lawyer last week to look into getting higher compensation from SMRT. It had offered $5,000, which he has rejected. "Unacceptable. This is for a person, a little girl -- a little girl who had a bad accident. From today onwards, there will be more expenses, like the cost of her new legs and rehabilitation," Nitcharee's upset father told the press. The Thai student will be heading home on Monday (June 13). Her wounds have healed fully, and she now moves around in her new electric wheelchair, bought with donations from the Singapore Rotary e-Club. Said STOMPer christopher of the compensation offered: "It is greatly disappointing that SMRT offered such a low and absurb amount of $5k to the Thai teen. "Surely, we can do better than that. "The $5k cannot even cover basic costs. "Please be more humane."

Attacker grabbed my GF after turning off lights at Parklane toilet STOMPer Robin's girlfriend was attacked in a toilet near a cyber cafe at Parklane Shopping Mall at about 1.35am on Nov 29. The attacker reportedly turned off the toilet lights and tried to grab his girlfriend's legs after forcing open the cubicle door. The person ran off after the STOMPer's girlfriend screamed and kicked the attacker. The cyber cafe was the same one where a fight broke out between teenage gamers last month. Robin relates the incident: "I wish to share this story with the rest so that it acts as a deterrence or preventive measure for future incidents. "On Sunday night (Nov 28), I was with my girlfriend and some other friends at a LAN shop called Aquarius, the same LAN shop where some gamers were involved in a fight after a gaming session. "We were playing DOTA from 9pm onwards till about 1.35am, when the incident happened in the ladies toilet on the same floor. "At about 1.35am, my girlfriend told me she was going to the toilet, and she has been going to the toilet alone most of the time before this incident happened. "About 3 minutes later, my girlfriend called my handphone and was crying over the phone. "Sensing that something terrible must have happened, I rushed over to the toilet and saw her crying at the entrance of the female toilet, where the lights were off. "She quickly told me that someone had switched off the toilet lights and tried to grab her legs after kicking open her toilet cubicle door. "She told me she started kicking and screaming and tried her best to shut the door back by kicking furiously at the attacker. "The attacker tried to further assault her by lunging forward to grab her by her hips but was kicked away and the door was shut. The attacker then ran away. "The response was to get hold of security and to ask for video recordings of the webcam that was planted near the entrance of the toilet. "The security personnel resisted and said they would only release the footage after a police report had been made. "About 20 minutes later, the police arrived to take our statements and carried out their 'usual' investigation procedures. "After the whole process of taking down statements etc, we were advised to contact an officer who was in charge of the the investigation. "Two days later, I called up this in officer-in-charge, only to find out that he was on medical leave, and I was asked to contact him the next following day. "My best guess of the next progression of the case is that they couldn't get good footage of the culprit, and the case will therefore drag and nothing will come to light. "Some of my concerns: is Singapore really safe enough?"

I'm currently have attachment in this company, but the office is on this platform. The platform is built by the company below us privately. They rented the space to the company I'm in now. So it gets really shaky whenever someone walk around. My fellow attachment friend has a habit of shaking his legs, when he shake his legs the entire platform is vibrating. Maybe its just my area cause I'm next to him. How do I make him stop shaking without offending him?
