  1. Any recommendation other then classic auto leather? Their business too good already.
  2. If leather seats in bad condition, néed to change out the leather, how much would it costs for sedan?
  3. A quick discussion here. Vehicle is about 15 years old and the original fabric including fabric chairs are wearing out and start to smell with about 5 6 years COE left. Any economical way to replace the door panel and seat coverings to fake leather or even plastic for easy maintenance. Not particular about quality just need to be easily wiped off. An example will be like TAXI interior wondering if there is any workshop doing these services
  4. Hey guys, Getting a new car soon. Hope anyone that is proud of your leather seat colors can share some ideas of matching/mixing of colors of the seat. Much appreciated. 😀
  5. Coronavirus cleanliness could be damaging your steering wheel Alcohol-based hand sanitisers can be very hard on leather. 2020 isn’t an easy year for anyone. COVID-19 has changed virtually every aspect of life for people around the world. As we try to mitigate the spread of coronavirus, keeping our hands clean has become a key activity we engage in daily. But the hand sanitisers we use could also have a detrimental effect on the trim in the vehicles we love, specifically with regards to steering wheels. That point is explained in this video from Craft Customs, a Texas company that specialises in custom steering wheels and other interior components. Many factory-original steering wheels are wrapped in leather, and while they generally feature automotive grade leather with a special top coat for protection, alcohol and petroleum-based products can break down that protective coat very quickly. Pretty much every kind of hand sanitiser is based on alcohol, and with hand sanitizer being used feverishly these days, well, you get the idea. The video includes a short demonstration of how alcohol and petroleum-based products can affect leather. A piece of automotive-grade leather is hit with hand sanitiser, rubbing alcohol, and since the vast majority of motorists still have cars with internal combustion engines, petrol is also thrown into the mix. For this presentation, straight rubbing alcohol does the quickest damage and though it’s hard to see on camera, a softening of the leather and loss of the protective coat occurs within seconds. It starts with the leather getting sticky, and once the coating compromised, the leather is easily damaged. We can see the leather flaking off as the video host runs his fingernail over the compromised section. Since other products are mixed in with hand sanitiser, the damage is a bit slower but it still happens in a very short amount of time. If you’re grabbing your steering wheel with hands still damp from the sanitiser, you could well be causing harm. Suffice it to say, you probably shouldn’t be slathering the wheel with it. The video recommends thoroughly cleaning the interior just a couple of times a year, but since it was posted pre-coronavirus, that might not be the best advice today. The video does recommend a simple mix of soap and water to keep the leather clean without causing damage, and it also recommends leather conditioners that don’t have a silicone or petroleum base. https://shopee.sg/MEGUIAR'S-RICH-LEATHER-SPRAY-G10916-AND-EDGELESS-MICROFIBER-i.92935577.1582174839 https://shopee.sg/Lexol-Spray-Leather-Conditioner-500ml-(genuine-Leather-Chair-Special-Care)-i.191408058.3605073162

  8. We can all agree on one thing; it is important to have seat comfort in your car! Just think about it this way: when you drive, you're spending all the time in your car seat, so that car seat has to be comfortable and suitable for you. However, when choosing a car seat, there are several choices you can make. Leather or fabric car seats are the most popular choices. Anyhow, the real question here is ' ' Are car seats in leather better than fabric '? ' And, we're here to discuss all of this. So, let's no longer waste time and get straight to business. Let's see the leather and fabric car seats ' advantages and disadvantages. I prefer fabric seats myself as it is not as hot as leather. But the thing about fabric is that it gets dusty very quickly. So usually I will standby a magic clean duster to dust away from the dust.
  9. Hi. I am looking for a car seat company which deals with this kind of car seat for the car. Is there anyone in Spore who does it? http://articles.sae.org/11983/ Thanks!
  10. Here is a very successful DIY project - leather wrap ( or Alcantera ) on steering wheel. The wrap is customised for each specific model of steering wheel, and they provide all necessary items required for the DIY, which is a rather nice feature . There shall be no mention of what seller since this post is to show you how easy to DIY your steering wrap. If you are good at hands-on, do consider this option instead of paying hundreds to shops instead. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_xU_IvxSN2A
  11. I recently bought a pair of Hush Puppies black leather shoes and realized that it is not really good. Regretted the purchase. Any bro here can recommend a good pair of leather shoes?
  12. Hi guys, my pet dog accidentally peed in the rear seat (my fault for not walking her earlier). I used tissue to soak the urine from the seat (leather seat) and clean it. The next day when I came to the car, there was a strong smell. Can’t really pinpoint where the smell is coming from but it’s at the rear seat. Realised that some parts of the seat were made of fabric (those sections for the seat belt buckle and child seat Anchor Point). Suspect the urine might have gone through these fabric parts and soaked and lying at the underneath of the seat hence giving out the smell. Tried the following: 1) vacuuming the area 2) fabreeze 3) baking soda on the seat overnight 4) charcoal deodarizer with fragrance gel The first 3 did not help much. The deodorizer help in masking the smell (since it has fragrance) but I’m still able to smell the pungent smell now and then. I have tried spraying fabreeze on the suspected areas lots of times. But it doesn’t help much. When open the car door, I can still smell abit of the pungent smell. Is it possible that the urine might have seeped through the leather seat and hence the smell is coming from inside the leather? If that’s the case, any advice on how to remove the smell from the leather seat? Thanks in advance. Anyway the car is only 4 months old
