  1. the power of fart is real... Sheep fart forced SQ7108 flight to make emergency landing in Bali, Denpasar on Oct. 26, 2015November 4, 2015 ¯\(°_o)/¯ Belmont Lay 289 3 A Singapore Airlines Boeing 747-400 freighter plane en-route from Sydney, Australia to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, was diverted to Bali Denpasar on Oct. 26, 2015. The plane, flight SQ7108, was carrying some 2,186 sheep on board and was forced to make the emergency landing some 45 minutes into its flight, after the flatulence produced by the animals was mistaken for smoke in the cargo hold. There were four crew on board. Upon landing, emergency services boarded the aircraft and reported that there was no trace of fire, heat, or smoke. According to The Aviation Herald, the smoke indication alarm sounded due to exhaust gasses and manure produced by the animals on the plane. 3. My neighbour's sec sch boy has been bringing his friends back to play mahjong everyday since last Dec. Even though they throw their fast-food waste outside the rubbish chute and mess up the place, we all just ignore them. A few weeks ago, they moved their mj table outside the flat to the lift landing and played there. As a result, we can hear them though our unit is far away fr the lift. When I came home just now, I could hear them 'washing the tiles' fr ground floor. No kidding, I'm staying on the highest flr, more than 10 floors. Never mind, I tell myself to ignore, coz that family is typical zero upbringing family. But when I step out of the lift and head towards my unit, one of them said 'happy new year 新年快乐' I continued to walk, immediately a string of vulgarities followed. Obviously he not happy I ignore him. I have decided to take action, which is the relevant authority to contact? I don't know if they are using chips to gamble, coz I nvr want to look at them. And they are obviously hooligans, my mum heard the boy quarrelling with his friends and they threaten to splash red paint on his doors. However they were back playing mj the next day. I will even call the police, but my concern is, would they say it's none of their business if they not using gambling chips?

  5. Optimism at career fair by S Ramesh 05:55 AM Jan 28, 2011 SINGAPORE - More job options and possibly higher starting salaries. That's the upbeat mood among those who attended the annual National University of Singapore (NUS) Career Fair yesterday. There was a buzz as undergraduates made their way through the fair, with a record 145 employers from diverse sectors taking part, offering some 4,200 positions. One of the fair's biggest participants is the public service, with nearly every ministry and statutory board having a booth to explain employment opportunities to graduates. The NUS graduate employment survey is expected in April, but there is already an upbeat sense on starting salaries. Professor Tan Eng Chye, NUS Deputy President (Academic), said: "For graduates, you are talking about a salary range from $2,500 to $3,500, depending on the professions. But sentiments are very positive." Graduate Alex Liu, said: "All of us are pretty optimistic." A Japan Pavilion is also part of the fair for the first time. Ten Japanese chemical companies with operations here are showcasing the sector, offering 80 jobs. To give its undergraduates a leg up, NUS is working with the Singapore Human Resource Institute (SHRI) to provide them employment and internship opportunities. SHRI executive director David Ang said: "We can be more focused when guiding the graduates on the kinds of jobs they want. At the same time, we also inform the career centre about the needs of employers." Some 7,000 students are expected to benefit from the fair over the next two days. 6. I find it WEIRD that so much coincidence that those tapes cannot be found and it will only adds fire to the speculation that moon landing was indeed a fake. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090716/ap_on_..._sci_moon_video Nafzger said a huge search that began three years ago for the old moon tapes led to the "inescapable conclusion" that 45 tapes of Apollo 11 video were erased and reused "It's surprising to me that NASA didn't have the common sense to save perhaps the most important historical footage of the 20th century," said Rice University historian and author Douglas Brinkley. He noted that NASA saved all sorts of data and artifacts from Apollo 11, and it is "mind-boggling that the tapes just disappeared." http://www.ufos-aliens.co.uk/cosmicapollo.html
  7. This topic was 'inspired' by the earlier thread in the General Car Discussion on "cabin light on while driving." I have have been wondering why the stewardess and steward keep asking the passenger to pull up their window blind in the plane during take off and landing during day time and night time. Anyone got an answer?
  8. Fly naked on Germany's first nudist holiday flight FRANKFURT (Reuters) - German nudists will be able to start their holidays early by stripping off on the plane if they take up a new offer from an eastern German travel firm. Travel agency OssiUrlaub.de said it would start taking bookings from Friday for a trial nudist day trip from the eastern German town of Erfurt to the popular Baltic Sea resort of Usedom, planned for July 5 and costing 499 euros ($735). "It's expensive, I know," managing director Enrico Hess told Reuters by phone. "It's because the plane's very small. There's no real reason why a flight in which one flies naked should be more expensive than any other." The 55 passengers will have to remain clothed until they board, and dress before disembarking, said Hess. The crew will remain clothed throughout the flight for safety reasons. "I wish I could say we thought of it ourselves but the idea came from a customer," Hess told Reuters by phone. "It's an unusual gap in the market." Naturism, or "free body culture" (FKK) as it is known in Germany, was banned by the Nazis but blossomed again after the Second World War, particularly in eastern Germany. "There are FKK hotels where you can go into the restaurants and shops naked, for example," Hess said. "For FKK fans -- not that I'm one of them -- it's nothing unusual." "I don't want people to get the wrong idea. It's not that we're starting a swinger club in mid-air or something like that," he added. "We're a perfectly normal holiday company." http://www.reuters.com/article/newsOne/idUSL2975435320080129 i can imagine the stewardess with only the seat belt strapped... a bit jippun AV.
