LOL . . . it happened this morning on my way to work. I was craving for coffee and you tiao (dough fritter) and made a detour to Lau Pa Sat. Came up to this stall selling you tiao and I was the only customer at that time. < Happy like bird =) . . . . > Noticed there was only 1 available as the other helper was frying a new batch. Good enough for me . . . and I said to the aunty manning the stall. "One you tiao please" smiling at her. Aunty mumbled something and I said "Huh?" She pointed to her helper and said "Do you want to wait?" "No, I'll take the one there" I nodded my head towards the only one you tiao. "Wu mao qian (50 cents)" she mumbled loudly "Okay but why 50 cents today?" I asked. "This one shorter" she whispered and I "Huh??
