  1. Lada comes back from the future with Xray concept which is probably the best design Russia has ever produced besides the Marussia supercars. Is a new auto industry emerging from a country which has an expanding car market? Russian auto giant AvtoVAZ debuted the Lada Xray concept crossover at the 2012 Moscow Auto Show. The concept's name is derived from the X-shape on its face, which looks like the Spindle grille of Lexus. For some reason AvtoVAZ is not putting the Xray up for production though the new look might be the new family face for future production vehicles by 2015. The Xray concept was designed by Steve Mattin, AvtoVAZ's new design chief who penned the 1997 Mercedes-Benz A-Class and current Volvo XC60. The British-born Mattin was also the former vice president and design director of Volvo Cars. "It's got a fairly long heritage and is a key player in the Russian market, it's an interesting time." Mattin said in an interview. Picture credit: Autoblog Exterior Interior
