Instead of all the moaning and b*tching about people and the stupid things they do, I decided to start a thread on science and engineering, so that we can all learn more about the world around us. Do feel free to share videos that shed light on the workings of our world, so that we can all benefit from the knowledge. First up, something that quite a lot of us use daily. GPS! (Actually, more on the atomic clock than GPS) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p2BxAu6WZI8 Secondly, for all of you who love to drink soda / canned drinks, ever wondered why the can was designed in such a manner and how it was made? Wonder no more! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hUhisi2FBuw Check out more of this guy's channel! I just started watching him last night, and now I can't stop! Hahahha..

Usually when car enthusiasts see a car that interest them, either on the road or parked somewhere, they would take a moment to try and guess what make and model the car is. This might be a little weird for normal people but that is just what a car enthusiast loves to do. For those car enthusiasts who also love board games, there is a similar car guessing game which they can enjoy with family and friends. The board game is known as Carnology and the main point of the game is to test your knowledge of cars. There are over 500 picture cards of cars that date from the 1900s till today and to advance through, you will have to guess what make and model it is. The board game covers nine different types of car categories and it comprises of six different types of metal car tokens (ranging from a Volkswagen Bus to a Lamborghini Countach), a colourful playing board, 525 picture cards and a die. The board game was created by John Cupit. He is a creative designer who has worked with various products including automobiles. He was inspired to create the game by childhood road trips he had with his father and guessing cars during those times. The board game can prove quite a challenge for some as there is a category where players have to guess a car only by a picture of headlights, front grille and other parts. But if you could identify a 1970s sports car and differentiate a split window VW Bus with a full windscreen model, then you could do really well in this game. Check out more of this game at their website here.

hi all... i need to know does a mid muffler effect power?... ok i know the tail muffler straight through will probably add 1-2 maybe 2-3bhp over a stock muffler... lets say the tail muffler is already straight through... will a mid muffler affect the exhaust flow and decrease bhp? or no difference even if it was a straight through from the extractors to the tail muffler... thanks...

Documents that were submitted by Toyota to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration in March and obtained by Automotive News reportedly show that Toyota knew of dangerous safety defects on its vehicles as early as February, 2006. The first documented issue was of a 2005 Toyota Prius that experienced floor mat interference with the accelerator. The company-supplied timeline reportedly shows that it received its first evidence of sticky gas pedals five months later, but Toyota claims that the defect was unrepeatable and couldn't be duplicated, and the automaker reportedly opted to "monitor the situation in the field." Since automakers are required to issue recalls within five days of finding a safety defect, the timeline documentation seems to validate NHTSA's recent $16.4 million fine levied against the Japanese automaker. Other documentation obtained by NHTSA and published in the Detroit Free Press includes an email from former Toyota executive Irv Miller to his superiors that shows that Toyota may have known about recall issues far earlier than the recalls were ordered. Toyota has two weeks to decide whether to fight the fine or pay up. NHTSA has been investigating the timeliness with which Toyota recalled the 8 million vehicles for floor mat and pedal sticking issues for several months.

hey guys, discovered a cool feature yesterday ( Dunno whether it was mentioned before) .... If I use my key to lock the door , and I hold the key in the 2 o'clock position, any wound down windows will wind up !! Vice versa !! At the same time also tested the safety feature of the window. Put my wallet at the top of the window ; once the window hit the wallet, it will wind back down
