  2. Although there were 'casualties' in this incident, the man did end up stopping the bike. A confusing video showing a man kicking the bicycle of a young child as he free-wheels down a slope is currently going viral. In the video, the child, who is not wearing a helmet or any safety gear, attempts to free-wheel down a slope. While the slope does not look that steep, it is dangerous for any child (and adult) to ride a bicycle in public without some sort of protection. The child could be heard screaming (out of fear or joy?) as he goes down the slope. An unidentified man notices the little boy struggling to control his 'vehicle' and runs up to the speeding bicycle. He immediately kicks the bicycle to stop the child in his tracks. This works a little too well as the child flies off his seat and lands face-first on the pavement. Although the child did sustain some light injuries, the way he fell with his bicycle was hilarious. The man then looks back towards the camera's direction in search of the boy's parents. Before the video ends, the child could be heard crying from the pain. Netizens' reactions This video garnered mixed reactions from netizens, some of whom feel that the man could have used a better method to stop the child from getting hurt. While it has not been confirmed yet if the man is the child's father, his fast reaction is something to applaud. Maybe he plays football a lot? Honestly, I would have done the same thing to stop the kid from further harm. The injuries that he received from falling off his bicycle was just collateral damage. At least he didn't collide into a tree or gone off the path. I agree! While this video has been going viral for both the right and wrong reasons, it is always important to stop and help someone in need. While we might never know if the man is indeed related to the child, at least he managed to save him from a serious injury! ======== Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news, and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. 3. Creative Japanese father prints life-sized cardboard cutouts of wife so son won’t cry in her absence source: https://mothership.sg/2019/12/japan-father-print-cardboard-cutout/ Sometimes, parenthood presents its own unique obstacles, which may require some ingenuity to overcome. One father in Japan certainly rose to the challenge. Fooling son with realistic cutout In a tweet, which has since amassed over 47,000 retweets and around 123,000 likes, one @sato_nezi showed how he solved his son’s separation anxiety while his wife was away. Sato shared that his one-year-old child would start to cry uncontrollably whenever he lost sight of his mother. Which led to some rather resourceful parenting methods. Sato decided to print a life-sized cardboard cutout of his wife, perhaps to trick his son into thinking his mother was still around. For added realism, the cutout was even printed in two different poses, one of the mother standing, and another of her kneeling down. Here are photos of the innocuous cutout, placed in appropriate parts of the house. And it seems the method worked. Look how happy he is. Another video posted on Twitter The video shows Sato added that his son was fooled for about 20 minutes, and said the cutout “could be a lifesaver”.
  4. S’porean boy, 5, gets left alone at M’sian gas station after parents forgot about him & drove off https://mothership.sg/2019/12/lost-singaporean-boy-in-malaysia/ Now those with kids, tell me, is it remotely possible to even forget about your kids, and only remembering them 2 hours later? At 5 year old, I would suppose they should be quite vocal, jumpy and needy, unless they're asleep! Haha. And not in Singapore, but in Malaysia (sorry neighbors) where you don't even wanna leave your belongings unattended for 5 mins. Not everyday is sunshine and rainbows. Thankfully for the parents on this day they met kind people across the border and all ended well. Not too long ago there was a similar incident where the mum was left behind. Now that it's the holiday period please be ultra safe and check all your belongings, and your kids! ☑️
