SINGAPORE: A free-falling loading lift at a Kaki Bukit building caused a ceiling to crash onto cars in the basement car park, according to an eyewitness who spoke to Channel NewsAsia. A scene of devastation greeted the eyewitness, who only wanted to be known as Linda, when she went to the car park at about 6pm on Thursday. She was told by the building's security staff that a lift had fallen a few floors causing extensive damage in the basement car park. Channel NewsAsia understands there were two people inside the lift, but they have been rescued. Police said a member of the public called about the incident at Block 1 Kaki Bukit Avenue 3, saying the lift had malfunctioned. Read today's ST that many MY petrol kiosk running out of petrol as the operator fear of another round of reducing fuel price. Are we expecting another 10 sens (or even more) fuel price reduction in MY?

Hi Everyone, My Grandma got knocked down by a Brown colour Nissan Car on 31st Jul-07, Tuesday, in the morning, between 7.45am to 8am. The accident happened along Bedok Reservior Rd towards Kaki Bukit Ave 1. Exact Spot is between a muslim mosque, MJD ALKAFF KG MELAYU, and the bus-stop before the mosque. The driver mentioned he was on the left lane of the two lane, when he signal right and overtook a taxi, when my grandma walk right into his path from left to right. Driver also mentioned that he did apply the brakes, but was unable to stop in time and hit my grandma. The whole windscreen of the car is shattered. No signs of tyre marks can be found after the accident. Currently, my grandma is in the Surgical ICU @ CGH. She has been in a coma since the accident occurred, more than 48 hours ago. My family and I are now, appealing to all eye-witnesses to step forward and contact the police. Please give your account of the accident to the police, so that we can all know the truth. We'll be grateful for your help. And to all mcf-ers, if you happened to witness the whole accident, pls drop me a pm with your name and contact number. Thank you.
