Mr Ang, 39, who is also the deputy director of the Home Team Academy's Behavioural Sciences Unit, said he had to assess how much of a threat the man was. He appeared upset and had raised his voice. Mr Ang said: 'We told him that he didn't have to make matters worse than they already were. We convinced him and he later surrendered peacefully.'
