Hi all, Will like to ask if any of you saw the tortoise soft toy in the attached pic. I bought a pair of them (total 4 tortoises) with one pair smaller than the other. It has been with us since I proposed to my current wife 10 years ago. Today during the struggle of getting my daughter out of her baby seat, my girl dropped the tortoise and my wife did not notice. Will appreciate if whoever picks it up is willing to return it to us. I know there are probably other toy tortoises out there but this one has sentimental value. Many thanks in advance.

Shops that sell and display items like souvenirs and glasswares usually has a notice saying you are liable to buy items that you break. I recall reading an article somewhere that says that such notices are not legally binding. I think it is becasue you did not agreed to it and hence there is no contract agreement or something like that. If you break a display item in a shop in Singapore, you are only liable to pay for the cost of replacing that item. I think this means the item cost price for the retailer and is usually lower than the retail price. Even then, it must be proven to be your own negligence and not the shops's (e.g. the item was placed hazardously and can easily dop). Can anyone verify if this is true? Lets share your experiences. I have 2. When I was 17 and ignorant, I accidentally dropped and broke a clock in a small souvenir shop. The clock was not hung securely and my mere initial contact caused it to drop. The shop owner made me pay for the full retail price. I did not have the cash (about $20) and he even withheld my nric while i went to the atm. I ended up "buying" the damaged clock. Recently, I accidentally dropped a thermal food container at a big departmental store. The lid was not closed properly and I lifted it using the handle on the lid. It is that type that has glass interior and it shattered as it dropped on the floor, basically totalled. The surrounding staff kept saying i must pay for it, etc etc. Subsequently, a staff said it is ok, they will return to their supplier and I need not pay.

The car went for inspection today. all swee swee, then the inspector gave a 'conditional pass' for my head lamps. Just as one (right side, decide to blow!!!) I told him, yalah, later i replace, but he say cannot. However the conditional pass item(red stamp) said " please rectify within 7 days." So? Do i need to come for re-inspection? and pay?? Can i still renew my road tax and insurance? Is my inspection certificate valid? Overall result stated "pass" What should I do?(apart from replacing the blown headlamp bulb) THX

http://www.xtremeplace.com/yabbse/index.ph...pic=80381.0;all Some bro here was approached by some SSGT from SPF and shouted at to stop taking photos of the downed tree accident  i quote http://sg.yfittopostblog.com/2010/07/18/ne...g-flood-photos/ Minister for Environment and Water Resources Yaacob Ibrahim says there is no policy against taking photos of floods. The issue came to light after Singaporeans reacted with a mixture of surprise and outrage over a newspaper photographer being handcuffed for taking photos of Saturday morning

Hi guys, I am looking for a portable jump-start battery. They usually provides 12VDC power via a one or two cigarette lighter socket and has cables at its side for jump-starting. They also come with an AC wall charger to charge back the battery. It's a handy item for any electrical devices that need 12VDC. I am looking all over the island for this but just couldn't find it. Please help. Autobacs used to carry it but I could't find it when I was there last week. Here is a picture of such item. They can look different from the one below but they serves the same purpose. http://store1.yimg.com/I/aajami_1825_139706076
