Hoho......finally lim kopi liao. http://www.channelnewsasia.com/news/singapore/police-investigating/861958.html SINGAPORE: Police say they are investigating a case of road rage along Keppel Bay Drive last month, as well as the case of a cyclist who was captured on video stopping traffic along Keppel Road. The comment follows a Facebook posting by Parliamentary Secretary for Transport and Health Muhammad Faishal Ibrahim earlier on Friday. Dr Faishal said he had been asked for his opinion about the recent incidents involving a cyclist and other motorists. He added that police are already investigating both incidents. In a response on Friday, police say they received a call at about 7.44am on September 16 for assistance along Keppel Bay Drive. When they arrived, it was established that an alleged case of road rage had occurred. As for the case of the cyclist in the video which has gone viral, traffic police are investigating the case. They have contacted the cyclist concerned. Police say appropriate actions will be taken against the parties involved if they are found to have flouted any rules. - CNA/gn

How come the 'Anonymous' upload this video to youtube, then take it down? I searched on youtube and found several other videos purportedly done by 'Anonymous' against the respective countries' government but those videos have remained viewable on youtube. After looking through these Anonymous videos on youtube, I conclude a pattern: - It has identical opening video clip segment. - Most have identical segment that shows the guy in the mask facing the camera speaking from script. - The voice-over is from text-to-speech software. That means there is some stock Anonymous clip somewhere that people can download to use, just make amendments to the voice script and parse it through the text-to-speech software then add in the audio stream? P.S: how many brudders' here are secretly hoping that the real Anonymous (if there is one) can make our ERP gantries free? -------------------- Police investigating video threatening cyberattack on Singapore: IDA SINGAPORE — Police are investigating a YouTube video that purportedly showed an anonymous hacker group threatening to attack Singapore, said the Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore (IDA) today (Oct 31). The video, posted on Oct 29, claims to be put up by international hacker group Anonymous. Showing a person seated at a table and wearing a Guy Fawkes mask, a digitised voice-over threatened to attack Singapore’s infrastructures over the new licensing scheme for online news sites. “We demand you reconsider the regulations of your framework or we will be forced to go to war with you,” the video said. Lasting about three minutes and 40 seconds, the video also said that hacker The Messiah, who is behind the hacking of several websites in Singapore, is part of Anonymous. By this evening, the original video appeared to have been removed from YouTube, although copies can still be found online. In response to TODAY’s queries, an IDA spokesperson would only say, “We are aware of the video, and the police are investigating into the matter.” Queries have been sent to the police. http://www.todayonline.com/singapore/police-investigating-video-threatening-cyberattack-singapore

The 2011 Hyundai Sonata has only been on sale for a few months, but it's already winning over many American mid-size sedan buyers, and we've been every impressed by what we've found in our first drive and review. However, the rakish new Sonata could face a recall. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has launched an investigation into about 16,300 Sonatas due to potential steering issues. NHTSA has received reports that cite problems with either a separation of the upper universal joint in the intermediate steering shaft assembly. The result is a complete loss of steering capability, though the universal joint was not completely separated. Hyundai says that it is unaware of any accidents or injuries connected to this issue and that it is fully cooperating with NHTSA on the investigation. The automaker also says that it had received reports of two vehicles with a steering problem linked to the upper universal joint, but that both were repaired without issue. Expect the results of NHTSA's investigation to be released in the coming weeks [source: The Detroit News]

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is currently investigating the 2005 and 2006 Mercedes-Benz E-Class for a wiring harness issue that could prevent the airbags from deploying in a collision. There are about 100,000 vehicles that could be affected if a recall notice is issued, and NHTSA says that it's received four complains of failures of the wiring harness, though there have been no reported injuries as a result of the issue. Mercedes spokesman Robert Moran reportedly told Bloomberg that the condition presents itself when drivers telescope the steering wheel all the way out and and as high as it can go. Under those conditions the potentially defective harness could pull out of the connector block, causing an open-circuit condition in the driver's airbag circuits. If the harness disconnects from the connector, the air bag warning lamp will illuminate and one of two diagnostic fault codes will point to the problem. The German automaker sent out a TSB back in December 2005 to address the issue, which is fixed with what NHTSA calls a "substantially longer" wiring harness. The TSBs, which have been updated over time, covers MY 2003-2009 E-Class and the MY 2006-2010 CLS, though only the 2005 and 2006 E-Class is currently being investigated. Hit the jump to read over the NHTSA summery of the investigation. [source: Bloomberg]

Last month, Toyota recalled 133,000 2010 Prius models due to a braking issue that could cause a momentary loss of stopping power. However, in many of the claims filed with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the vehicle's cruise control was brought into question, with drivers stating that they had difficulty getting the system to turn off when the brake pedal was depressed. According to Ward's Auto, 11 percent of all 2010 Prius complaints filed with NHTSA cite this issue. Toyota is now starting to look deeper into these complaints, and believes that the majority of them are the result of driver confusion over the Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (DRCC), which is an option on the top-rung Prius V trim. In talking with Ward's, Toyota spokesperson Dave Lee says that drivers are confusing the Prius' adaptive cruise control for unintended acceleration. Lee states that when drivers use the cruise stalk to adjust vehicle speed, the rate of acceleration is much higher than when the gas pedal is pressed
