  1. A car dealer told me car insurance must include COE amount. Another told me it is not requried but some anal loan companies still want it (eg: Huat Lai Finance and U Owe Bigtime). I'm inclined to believe the second dealer. Why should I insure an intangible (figment of shortfxxk's imagination) item like the COE?
  2. Insured, so why do I keep paying? Letter from Janette Neo 05:55 AM Dec 07, 2010 THE motor insurance premium for my 1,000cc car was $1,246.32 last year. The insurer has just given me a quote for $1,955.78 for the coming year. The insurer tells me the leap in premium is due to a third-party claim I made in May. I had successfully claimed for 50 per cent of the cost of repairs for an accident that was not my fault. I cannot help but wonder: What exactly are we paying the insurers for? If you are not involved in any accidents, you are hit by premiums that escalate every year no matter how safe a driver you are. If you are in an accident, and it is your fault, you lose your No Claims Discount (NCD) and are subject to higher premiums. And if you are in an accident which is not your fault, as in my case, you still lose your NCD and are slapped with a higher premium. Why should a safe driver have to pay a cent more when he or she has done nothing wrong? Isn't the point of insurance exactly to protect us from unwanted payouts? http://www.todayonline.com/Voices/EDC10120...o-I-keep-paying?
  3. From Aviva website...... Q: Do you provide Third Party Fire and Theft insurance plan? A: No. We only provide a fully Comprehensive Insurance Policy as we want to insure you and your vehicle as comprehensively as possible. Anyone here still go for comprehensive even fully paid old car? I notice some companies do not hv 3rd party coverage. eg Aviva and DirectAsia. Is the reason as above or its a business decision cos not profitable? BTW, i notice those who provide 3rd party cover seems to price close to comprehensive cover. Again, to discourage 3rd party cover? Is this another case of motorist at the loosing end?
  4. Hi guys, I am not familiar with the current fiancial turmoil in around the world, but my car is insured by AIG currently, and a bit concern about this bad news... Anyone car also insured by AIG? Any concern?
