  1. Hi ppl, just wonder how many drivers will purchased a Fire extinguisher which is small/compact enough to be placed in the car's boot? As heard from my friend that his friend's car started to catch fire, yes you did not hear me wrong. I was shocked to hear this too but actual reason not sure til now as still in workshop now. We always hear such 'story' but do not 'feel' it til you are caught in it. The driver of e car (my friend's friend) was so helpless and can only see it burned. We are talking if he have a fire extinguisher, maybe the damaged will not be so bad. But I just started wonder if it safe to put e fire extinguisher in car's boot? If it safe, any one know where to purchase one handy one and if can plz advise on the price too. Thanks for reading my concern. Good Sunday ahead folk! Cheers

  3. You know that hot gush of air when you open your car door? How do we reduce the temp when the car is parked in the open? Do we leave gaps in the windows? You can do that if you have window visors installed I guess. Is there any solar powered device in the market which can be installed to provide ventilation and does it help?
  4. Footage in North Korea This is pretty interesting stuff
  5. My left head lamp seems to have mist / water inside. There seems to be a leak on the sealing of the head lamp. What can I do ?
  6. In awe by this Soviet-era behemoth then probably due to both the book and film The Hunt For Red October but now if you invite me FOC from flight to lodging for a visit I would definitely say thanks but no thanks and give it a miss. Really impressed with these brave visitors but not sure if they brought with them a Geiger Counter each... Note the rusting interior and really how on earth a once formidable ballistic sub could end up in such a sorry state... In any case the days of these underwater giants are probably over and now the Russkies must be racking their brains how to "de-nuclearise" the reactors of these SSBNs. From STOMP: http://singaporeseen.stomp.com.sg/stomp/sg..._submarine.html Posted on 10 Apr 2012 Step into the world's biggest nuclear submarine The Typhoon class submarine is the largest submarine in the world, measuring 170 metres long and 23 metres wide. STOMPer Zoolander, who has shared these photos with us, said: "Submarines have always fascinated me, not just by their sheer size, but by the fact that these massive vessels can stay underwater for months. "The Typhoon class submarine can carry 20 ballistic nuclear missiles. Only six of these vessels were built. Get on board one of them by clicking on the pictures in the gallery below.
  7. Anyone caught this docu on National Geographic recently? Very intense and interesting to see how the US PJ works in the war zone...
  8. Son Doong Cave in Vietnam. Discovered in 1991 but only explored in 2009. Opening for commercial tours soon and apparently it takes 4 days 3 nights to explore.
  9. Imagine taking a swig of your favourite beverage -- only to find a large decomposed goldfish floating in it. Believe it or not, this was exactly what a woman surnamed Wen experienced on May 4 in Xi
  10. Got a friend in distress when her 'keyless' sensor was inside her handbag and at the rear seat. She came out of the car and closed the driver's door and it auto lock. No spare sensor as she bought the car from 2nd hand dealer. Anyone know any method to open the door. Breaking the window will be the last resort. Model is Nissan 'March' ...
  11. Luckily the sharks were mostly small reef sharks
  12. I heard before Charcoals can get rid of durian smells, also heard of panda leaves. How about ANTS ? Is there a method to get rid of the ANTS without using those oil spray or toxic that will kill me in the car ?

  14. Quite a clever idea but not sure it will catch on in Singapore as we car buyers tend to be a bit more of the touchy, touchy, feely, feely, variety. What do you guys think? http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/programmes/clic...ine/9746561.stm

  16. This mrn abt 12nn I was shocked when I saw a SMRT bus inside the MOTOSIKAL LANE which was at the extreme lane at JB Checkpoint. WTF was the driver trying to do? I guess it must be another Ah Tiong or Indian driver who is not familar and doesn't understand Malay or English Signboard. The bus windscreen was smashed. The driver damn kok cos the ganttry will not allow bus to pass through. KNN, SMRT never trained their bus driver. The JB Immigration Dept sure claimed damages from SMRT. Just now when I returned to SG about 2.30pm. I saw the bus still there. They managed to reverse the bus out. SMRT better WAKE UP. After all the MRT saga, now their buses.
  17. How on earth their child could be locked inside a car? Could it be they left their son who might be sleeping inside and went for makan session in Jalan Kayu? Or they left him temporarily inside the car to pack stuff inside the boot and the toddler then accidentally locked himself or what? Really puzzling... In any case, it was a big relieve that no harm was done to the kid. Given the sizzling weather we are having lately, it is unimaginable for a child to be trapped in a car under a open-air car park... From ST Forum: http://www.straitstimes.com/STForum/Story/...ory_767409.html Locked in car 'My wife and I thank the people who stayed on to help.' MR LAWRENCE QUEK: 'On Feb 4, after dinner, my 19-month-old son accidentally locked himself in the car, with key inside, at the Jalan Kayu open carpark. While my wife and I tried to distract him so that he would not hurt himself, a few people came by and stayed with us to ensure that our son was safe. We eventually had to break the car window and retrieve the key. My wife and I thank the people who stayed on to help us.'
  18. By MERLIN LAFLEUR, 2009/12/02 http://gold-quote.net/en/articles/fake-tun...n-gold-bars.php The counterfeit story This October, bankers in Hong Kong were in for a rude shock when they discovered some gold bars from the US to be actually gold plated tungsten i.e., fake gold bars. Acting fast, the Chinese officials found the perpetrators within hours. It seems that fake Tungsten blanks, between 1.3 and 1.5 million 400 oz, were manufactured in the US about fifteen years ago during the Clinton administration. Said to have been done by a very sophisticated refiner, 640,000 of these tungsten planks were gold plated and shifted to Fort Knox. The remaining also gold plated, but sold into the international market. (Fort Knox , as you may be aware, is the United States Bullion Depository, where the official gold reserves of the federal government are stored. This depository of about 4,603 tons (4 176 metric tonness) is the second highest gold depository in the US after the Federal Reserve Bank of New York's underground vault in Manhattan (5,000 metric tonness of gold). Whoever pulled this one on the gold bars had connections inside the government, big banks and also a top-of-the-line fabrication facility. For, counterfeit is not something new for the US government, it did this is 1964 when zinc dimes clad in silver were introduced. That's why the pre 1964 coins are valued more. Elsewhere, early this year, another counterfeit story made rounds as some of the gold bars in the vaults of the National bank of Ethiopia were found to be gold plated steel. It made news when the shipment of gold was returned by South Africa. It only could have been the work of a genius as fake gold bars made of steel are among the easiest to detect as they are lighter. Among gold coins, 22k Gold coins such as Krugerrand, are less likely to be counterfeited because the density of 22k gold minted from gold alloy that is 91.67 percent pure, is far apart from that of tungsten. Tungsten has the same density (19.25g/cm3) as gold, so a fake bar is indistinguishable by weighing it. In comparison the density of pure 24k gold is within 0.26% of tungsten.
  19. Last week I saw a WRX Expressway Mata stopped a car inside KPE near ECP exit. I thought that it is an offence to stop our car inside the KPE tunnel.

  21. Our gf, or wife..... they seem to need a big bag wherever they go, else they will stop breathing?? Take for example my wife, since the day i knew her, havent seen a day she goes out without a bag which to me, seems to be big enough to keep all the stuff i need for an overnight trip... why?? Strangely, although I am curious, I have not really peeped inside her bag (or bags) to find out what she keeps inside?? first aid kit? all the keys for home, car, office? spare blouses etc etc? half her makeup table's contents? i dont know.......... If any bro has any clue, please share it here........... if you are sister, can you explain this 'mystery' why females need BAG bigger than a wallet? Most men can be away from home whole day with nothing more than a wallet, or at the most, a clutch-bag, small small one....
