  1. A couple claims that their daughter totally ignored them after graduating from university. She refused to take photos with them at her graduation ceremony and did not even inform them about her marriage plans. Dejected and disappointed, the parents are now seeking the return of the $40,000 university tuition fees from their daughter. Mr Wang Yongshen, (56 year old, retiree), claims that he and his wife are hurt by their daughter whom they said had become a totally changed person after her graduation. They had put in a lot of effort to see their daughter through university only to end up getting cold treatment from her. Mr Wang said his daughter graduated from NTU
  2. As long as these canines are on leash, it is alright to bring them to parks or beaches right? Have seen local-looking folks unleashing their pedigree dogs big and small along East Coast Parkway beaches so not really fair to paint the foreigners in a bad light here. Then again really a nuisance to encounter the unleashed doggies running around especially when you are jogging or cycling and some breeds like German Shepards seem to a real menace to other park users though I have never heard of one injuring anyone... From STOMP: http://singaporeseen.stomp.com.sg/stomp/sg...for_a_walk.html Posted on 24 Jun 2012 Foreign family ignores sign at reservoir park and takes big dog for a walk STOMPer Merlion Wayfarer encountered some inconsiderate park users at the Lower Peirce Reservoir. They were noisy, rollerblading and had a big dog in tow. According to the sign at the entrance, dogs are not allowed. Said the STOMPer: "Inconsiderate park users who can't read signs. "I met some inconsiderate park users today at the Lower Peirce Reservoir. "The most noisy was this foreign family with four kids. "Two of them bladed all the way from the park entrance to reservoir, while the other two bawled very loudly that you could hear them from the other side of the boardwalk across the reservoir. "The parents were talking loudly to control the kids. "They even had a huge dog which took up half the boardwalk's width in tow. "The weird thing is that obvious signs were placed at the entrances of the boardwalk at both sides, and they chose to ignore them."
  3. I am a resident in Dover Road for over 30 years and am recently affected by the Enbloc/SERS upgrading and have to shift about 500m from my existing home to the new ones at Blocks 28A to D at Dover Crescent. I do not have any outstanding summons with the HDB nor do I own a vehicle. I love my home and the residents in the small area of Dover are a very closely knitted bunch. The HDB has inconvenienced and endangered residents, handicapped and pedestrians as well as other road users by using the Handicap Lots at Block 28C to dump sand and debris. This prevents the handicapped residents and members of the public from using the handicap lot. Residents in the process of moving and unloading do not have a proper space to park their vehicles to unload. The Loading and unloading Bay at Block 28C is fully blocked and taken up by the HDB contractor
