  1. What happened? A massive crash took place in Seletar Expressway (SLE) on 6 July 2023 after a Toyota lorry lost control and skidded, causing a chain collision involving 5 other motorcyclists and a car. As we can see in the footage, the motorcyclists were left with no time to react. One motorcyclist leapt off his bike to avoid the crash, while others were unable to avoid it and caused a pile up. The first motorcyclist was also put between the lorry and a Honda, though the extent of the damage to the Honda is unknown. In the aftermath of the incident, it is shown that shrapnel was left littered across the road, while some of the riders involved were lying on the ground, injured. Fortunately, other riders were present to help them out and ensure their well being. The injured riders were conscious and sent to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital. It is not known what happened to cause the lorry to lose control, or the condition of the lorry driver. Online chatter Many blamed the lorry for the incident, some giving their own experiences of how heavy vehicles are in the wrong lanes. A couple of people however, blamed the bikes for lane splitting. ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. 2. Uncle was probably driving himself to the centre to meet his friends, and he ended up almost meeting God instead. What happened? On 14 April 2023, a 77 year old man crashed his Audi A3 into the Kolam Ayer Senior Citizens’ Centre at Block 44 Sims Drive. Pictures of the incident were sent to The Straits Times, and we can see the front of the A3 wedged between the doorway, and that the impact has damaged the building. Chunks of the doorway were knocked out where the car hit the centre. A spokesman from Kolam Ayer Community Club told The Straits Times that the centre was not open at the time of the incident, and there was nobody inside. Uncle might want to check for dementia right about now. Both the police and Civil Defence Force were alerted to the accident at about 11.20, and the SCDF took the driver to the hospital who was luckily, conscious. I do find it weird the car was able to accelerate so fast it made enough force to take a chunk out of the doorway, which means uncle has a heavy foot or thought it was the brake somehow. Online chatter Some of the jokes made were morbid, but good enough to forget about it and laugh. Others used this as an example to prevent the elderly from driving on account of their degraded motor skills and reflexes. ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. 3. What happened? Police were alerted to a fight along Stamford Road at around 2.28 A.M. They turned up to find a man casually crossing the road with an axe in his hand. As the man got closer, the police drew their weapons in a bid to get him to stop. The threat worked as the man promptly stopped and dropped his weapon, raising his hands in the air. There is a brief standoff as the police keep the man there for a minute. The lights turned green and the camcar continued on its way. The man was subsequently arrested for possession of an offensive weapon, using criminal force to deter a public servant from the discharge of his duty and using abusive language against a public servant. A 71 year old man was hospitalised during the fight, and a 29 year old man is assisting the police with investigations. We have no information as to the reason why the fight was started, the man's identity, nor the condition of the hospitalised person. Online chatter A couple people praised our police force for arresting the man and ending further harm. Others poked fun at the situations, with a couple pointing out how the situation resembled GTA.
