My car's driver side do not have any grab handle installed by default. Instead of wasting the space, decided to get this DIY sunglass holder using the original mounting holes for the grab handles. The blank stubs used to cover the mounting holes: The plugs partially removed: The holder itself, comes with the tools required for the installation: Installed: Spring loaded construction with soft close function. The black suede blends well with my anthracite roof lining. Item purchased and shipped from Taobao for aprox sgd20. Quite worth the while, especially since it is easily reversible when I sell the car.

Dear All, I came across this article and this is an innovative way to save our lives! Maybe this is the a way MCFers can campaign to use these in all cars. However, we need to be wary of personal details being left in the car. I am not sure if address is necessary. What do you all think? http://www.theboltonnews.co.uk/news/11540658.Police_come_up_with_imaginative_new_use_for_tax_disc_holder/?ref=mr POLICE have dreamt up a new use for the licence disc holders that every car carries on its windscreen - one which could save lives. The switch from paper tax discs for cars to the new electronic version has meant that the familiar transparent plastic envelopes have become obsolete - but PC Dave Wise and colleagues have thought up a new use for them. They have come up with an emergency contact information and medical alert card. PC Wise said: "This is a really useful replacement for your tax disc. if a driver is involved in a collision or has a medical emergency whilst at the wheel, a first responder will have easy access to vital medical information and we can quickly contact next of kin. "The way the disc folds in on itself means all the information is kept private until needed by emergency services personnel." The policing team, based in Malvern, Worcestershire, put the template for the form on their Twitter account, @MalvernCops. It can be easily printed out, cut out, filled in, folded up and placed in the holder. "We will be linking in with local ambulance and fire commanders to make them aware of this initiative so they can be on the lookout for these emergency contact discs," said PC Wise.

New cars are now usually provided with "flip-key". However, earlier cars like mine were provided with traditional key and remote. This type of key is likely to cut holes in trouser pocket. Few months ago, I make a DIY key pouch, with materials recycled from diary cover. The car key is "concealed" before keeping in trouser pocket. Key "concealed" before keeping in trouser pocket. Side-view of key holder. The remote is "packed" in the key holder. Just remember where to press for lock/unlock. Hope this would be useful for those drivers who wanted something like this. Cheers !!

I have a friend who is learning driving and gettings a class 3A(auto) license. We were discussing away on the kind of cars she can drive...and mentioned some of the sports cars like EVO x, WRX, GT-R, R8, etc... what came into our minds, is that these cars mechanically have clutches but doesn't have a clutch pedal, and can be shifted like a manual car. Be be sport shift, s-shift, paddle shift or SST. Based on LTA, Class 3A mean allow to drive a motorcar without a clutch pedal. Since these car are without a clutch, that means it's ok to drive right? Even though can shift to play manual mode. Any 3A holders driving such cars? Care to comment?

Hi Just curious about the many suction windshield-mounted GPS holders that are available as a standard mount. With the sun-film (be it V-Kool, Rike-Cool, 3M etc), is there a possibility that the weight of the mounted GPS appliances peel the sunfilm? TIA Robert
