  1. Have just installed a 4-channel active sound system with DSP. Noticed that whenever I play Spotify music via bluetooth connection to the DSP, there is a hissing/static noise in the background, especially when at the points where there's silence or start of the music piece. However, when I plug my phone directly to the head unit, the hissing/static noise disappears. Using Android phone currently, but have the same results when trying out using my wife's iPhone. Have gone back to the audio shop a couple of times and they have adjusted the DSP gains down, but still can hear the hissing/static sound. They don't seem to be able to resolve the issue so far. One of their staff said that it could be due to the DSP being an entry level one, which I'm not convinced. Does anyone know how to resolve, or any recommendations of an experience ICE workshop that can solve this issue?
  2. Hi guys! I am driving a 07' Latio. My aircon been making a hissing noise for awhile, went to workshop, change my cooling coil and all is great. But when I went back home, turn off my engine and there is like hissing, bubbling noise for 30 Sec or so before it go off. Anyone know if this is an issue? Do I need to go back to my workshop? Thanks!
  3. My aircon has been doing the darth vader ever since i replaced the aircon clutch and topped up the gas and aircon oil. it was quiet before the change but now there is a very audible hissing sound every 1 minute.... does this mean there is not enough gas? is it causing much strain on my compressor? should i go get it topped up immediately?

  6. Need help Got an old working amp from a friend & fix it up onto my new Altis. At the same time, also change the front speaker to 2 components + rear to 6x9 coaxial. Now, when ever I start up my car (even without power on my factory fitted HU), there is a loud hissing sound coming out of the speakers (I think from the front). Once in a while, there will also be some spark sound coming out of the speakers when I start-up my car. The Amp : JBL Grand Touring GTO75.4 (4x104W RMS 4 Ohms <=1% THD +N). Because my factory fitted HU do not have any pre-out + my amp have high level input : the set up was done with speaker outputs from the HU directly into the amp. Was told that the only way out of this is to replace the HU with one with pre-out. True ? Is there any other way to remove the un-wanted hisiing noise other than replacing the HU ??
  7. when i on aircon, the hissing sound is continuous. when i off aircon, the hissing sound is on and off, msot of the time, no have. it comes from under carriage. anyone can guess what's happening? it's a 2006 auto facelifted vios
  8. Hi all, Recently I burnt my china made no brand 2ch amp. Was performing very well last time whether LPF bridged mode or normal mode powering my low range CDT speakers. So after I burnt my amp, I purchased this Pioneer GM4300F from Mustafa and installed it myself at the same location of my previous amp. After installation, the 1st thing I noted was a hissing sound (even when no music playing). I can change the source to AUX and still hear the hissing sound. It gets louder when I turn up the volume. I disabled to "Loudness" setting on my HU from Mid to Off and the hissing sound goes away mostly. But when you really increase the volume, you'll still hear it. I can reduce the treble and the hiss is also reduced but it makes my tweaters useless.... After reading in this forum and other online forums about amp hissing sound, many attribute this to RCA cables. So on my next trip to the installer, I purposely ask him to relocate the RCA cable and even before it's secured, I quickly did a test run and found the hissing sound still there. Btw, I also added in another pair of RCA cables since this is a 4ch amp. The new cables are thicker and I swapped it but still find it to be the same. I then went checking for reviews on this amp - previously when I bought it, I guess it's quite new and so not much review. So currently the reviews I found are not bad. Ppl did specifically say there is no hissing sound. http://www.crutchfield.com/S-2UaBHcqXg0Q/p...&tab=review So currently my suspicion is the following: 1) Previous china 2ch amp not sensitive enough to pick up noise but this Pioneer is very sensitive and pickup all noise and amplifies it, therefore get hissing sound -> if so, how to solve it? 2) My HU is Pioneer DEH P5050UB is the culprit giving the hissing sound? 3) My RCA is the culprit? But I've already tested with another thicker RCA.... 4) My Pioneer GM4300F is the culprit? Lemon? Happen to be unlucky? Unfortunately buying at Mustafa no warranty, furthermore, I think even got warranty, I don't think warranty covers hissing sound. Appreciate any advise. Thanks.

  11. hi guys, I just changed my headunit to a kenwood 2din dvd player. I'm using a single 4 channel amp setup with 2 front, 2 rear and a subwoofer. For some reason, there is a very faint hissing sound that can be heard when i'm using the system, I thought it might be some treble, but when i adjusted it, its still the same. When i turned the volume to 0, the hissing sound is present and obvious. Is it the cabling problem ? how do i get rid of it.. it's rather irritating!!! can anyone help me..
