According to the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), General Motors is recalling 12,626 units of the 2013 Cadillac XTS model due to improper rear seat head restraints. "The rear seat head restraints may not lock in the upright position after being folded forward," said NHTSA. "If the head restraint is at its lowest position and it falls forward, it will not meet the height required by the standard. In the event of a vehicle crash, the lowered head restraint may increase the occupant's risk of neck injury." The affected vehicles were made between 12 Oct 2011 and 30 Aug 2012. To GM's credit, the automaker discovered the problem themselves. The single piece rear headrest design looks classy and unique but is sadly lacking in its functionality. The Cadillac XTS is a full-size luxury car that is meant to be a replacement for the STS and DTS. The XTS proved to be a popular model. For the first 10 months of 2012, the XTS is already the 4th best-selling car in the states.

BMW is recalling some 7,600 2012 3 Series models for head restraints that could rise beyond the federal limit after tests conducted by BMW. The affected vehicles were built between 19 Oct 2011 to 18 Mar 2012, according to the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. In the event of a crash, with a headrest is the full upright position, downward movement in excess of 25 millimeters may increase the risk of neck injury. Fortunately, no accidents or injuries relating to this defect have been documented so far. BMW will inspect and repair these models as necessary, with no expense to the owners. The repair works involves fitting a clamp to the headrest post on both front seats to limit the amount of upward travel. However it is not clear if the local 3 series models will be affected. The 2012 BMW 3 series was launched in Singapore recently.

Hi! I'm driving a G9 Toyota Corolla. Came across another Corolla on the road today having a TRD design windscreen film (those kind across the top of windscreen) with the following text in the centre: Racing Development TRD Toyota Motor Sports The film is those tinted see-through kind by the way. Also looking for headrest cover - Black color with TRD design. Does anyone know where can I find these items? Kinda liked them... Also any idea how much do they cost (plus installation for the windscreen film)? Thanks.
