    Garang guni

Dear all. Just now in the afternoon i called a garanguni up to take away my old TV set and he saw my bar counter, he expressed interest in my dad's very old liquor bottles like the martell cordon bleu, henessy etc... Those bottles are about 30 years old and he straight away open price $200 and wanted to buy it. They are actually quite useless to me as they are for display purposes but i said no. He is extremely persistent and start saying some stories like his father is sick and need it to make some medication and s--t. I know he is obviously lying and continued saying no. He held the bottle so tightly and insist that i sell him. he then raised the price to $250 and i sold him. His over interest caused me to be suspicious as to the value of the bottle and i suspect he might be able to sell it for like more than twice the price ??? So i was just posting here to see if there's anyone who is experienced in this field can enlighten me. Thank you !!
  2. As above. How much were u able to sell them for?
  3. Out of curiosity. there seem to be quite a few karang gunis at my estate... suspect some are run teh gu types as they are not locals. for the same amount of old new paper, i've been given anywhere from $2 to $7... even come across one that act blur and tried to just go away. what is the "markey price" for old newspaper... is there is a standard at all?
  4. A traditional way to get rid of the newspapers in the house is to sell them to Karung guni on a regular basis. My mum was happy with this arrangement as she got to keep the proceeds (although meagre) while our small house could be cleared of unwanted junks at the same time. Time has changed (at least for the time being)... This morning, I was at the car-park and saw a Nissan Cabstar unloading a few karung gunis. I approached one of them, telling them I have some newspapers to clear. They were unwilling to collect due to the recent declination in profit and shortage of storage space. Now, my house is full of newspapers and... my mum needs some pocket money, help!

  7. Any bros have this installed? Basically the GNG is just a canister, it works by storing a fixed volume of air when the engine is started. When the throttle is released, the air is fed into the engine, which "fools" it that the throttle is not fully released. Hence, upon re-acceleration, the engine can response faster. My colleague has installed recently, basically the installer remove the air-pipe between the air-intake manifold and the master brake pump, and installs the GNG in the way. Typically it's about 300cc GNG for 1.5l car, and bigger volumes for bigger engines. The size of GNG can be selected to suit different driving needs. The market price is about $140. I have called one of the installers, and he's kind enough to give a 1-week trial for the product, and a small discount. Makes it even more tempting , but I'm still considering...
