Straight out of an action movie, this one. Look at how fast he picked himself up after falling. If I slip and fall, my legs are paralysed for at least 5 minutes. What happened? A man on a motorbike was being chased by traffic police along Geylang road. He slid off his bike across the road and hit a traffic light, before picking himself up to continue evading the authorities on foot. An officer got off his bike to pursue the man, and was successful in apprehending him. It is unclear what were the circumstances that led to the chase. The suspect was detained in Lorong 24 Geylang for possession of an offensive weapon and traffic-related offences. He was also taken to hospital, and further police investigations are ongoing. According to the original Facebook post, an eyewitness told Chinese newspaper Shin Min Daily News that he saw the motorcyclist travelling at high speed and the police giving chase. The motorcyclist then abandoned his vehicle, ran away and tried to hide, but was unable to evade arrest, the witness added. Interestingly enough, there was also a second officer involved in the pursuit, except once the chase went on foot, he just stayed on his bike and seemed to wait for his partner to nab the biker. Online chatter People praised the police for arresting the offending biker. As they should. I can’t imagine running while in that gear, especially in SG’s weather. Many people also made fun of the biker for sliding and running, as well as asking where he would hide considering Singapore's tiny size. Naturally, many people are going to make Grand Theft Auto jokes too. There were so many ISTG. ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. Join us today!

Is car blocking black cars the new trend? Apparently it is, because after the infamous Causeway license-plate-plucking incident, another copycat comes fast on its heels! This time, in the heart of one of the seediest neighbourhoods in Singapore, and in broad daylight! You can watch the video here: Fuyoh, Mercedes Vs Woman Wow, what could have possibly possessed her to do that? She should have known that it is quite frowned upon (in general) to try to block moving vehicles. It is also quite dangerous anyway. We investigated and apparently the series of events went like this: The woman approached the driver with an aggressive stance. Cue hostile body language. She jabbed her finger right into his face. Definitely very confrontational. The woman was also seen striding off momentarily to confer with a woman of smaller stature, but it is unsure to us the nature of their discussion. The driver seems to want no part of this, and at some point, gets fed up and tries to brush her off. He then got into his car. It doesn't stop there! Undeterred, the woman planted herself in front of the car, thinking that it would stop him. Unfortunately and expectedly, it did not. Some fun facts; we did some research and the brake horsepower of the vehicle (which we found to be a Mercedes Benz C180 Kompressor A) turned out to be: The brake horsepower of a human, or the woman would equate to: The car is exerting over a 150 times of the brake horsepower she has! Well, she's definitely very plucky for trying, we will give her that... Eventually, the force of the impending car proved too great for her and she was pushed to the side, where she raised her arms in a show of protest, before slinking away. The public opinion was ruthless. As soon as the video made its rounds on the internet, there was an outpouring of comments. Naturally, there came the expected comparisons to a certain carplate-ripping incident: Well, they are quite similar! Safe, indeed. Haha! Well, the females at MyCarForum would beg to differ, OK! Just as well, there were more reasonable comments: Whereas this person provided a very good joke about the possible circumstances regarding this situation... Oh my! Moral of the story If anything is to be taken away from this incident, it is that you should never be deliberately using your body to block the path of a moving vehicle. It could get you injured, or even worse... Have your pictures plastered over the online walls of shame. We'll be eagerly awaiting the backstory of this car-blocking lady, however. ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news, and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. It appears to be just another normal day in Geylang after footage was uploaded of a near collision between a pedestrian and a speeding motorcycle Just watch the video for yourself below 295004115_2831560283806164_8534743410773785914_n.mp4 The motorcyclist seems to be going down a relatively fast pace on the road in Geylang, narrowly avoiding colliding into the pedestrians that are trying to jaywalk across the road. He had then honked and called out in frustration to avoid a narrow collision before the pedestrians had skittered back to safety. The motorcyclist had seemed extremely angry over the situation, which might make others contend that he may be a bit (大惊小怪), also known as to make a big fuss over nothing, given the fact that jaywalking is extremely commonplace in Geylang. To not have anticipated this kind of behavior could be on him, to be fair. Netizen Comments Netizens chime in as well with their own take on the situation at hand, criticizing both the motorcyclist as well as the pedestrians at hand, though they seem to contend that jaywalking behavior in Geylang is almost commonplace. Netizens criticized both parties, firstly the motorcyclist for driving at a fast pace and reacting badly, as well as the pedestrians for jaywalking. It’s almost like jaywalking at Geylang isn’t a unique sight anymore. Personally, if I were driving along the streets of Geylang, would probably need to be mindful of my surroundings, lest I cause some actual fatalities. ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. Suspected drunkard kicks driver's vehicle for nothing 🤷🏼♂️🤨
unicornfloof posted a blog entry in MyAutoBlog
The driver was driving along Geylang Lorong 17 on Saturday night (June 26). He stopped at a crossing to let pedestrians cross the road when a middle-aged man suddenly walked up to his vehicle and gave it a hard kick. In the video, the man can be heard engaging in a confrontation with the driver after kicking the vehicle. The driver even reverses the car to ask the man 'what the problem was'. According to the driver, he had no relations with the man and that there was nothing before the incident that could have explained the unprovoked attack. Drunk or Drugs? Suspecting that he was either drunk or on drugs, the driver wanted to call the police on the spot, but he was faced with taunts from the man, who claimed that the police knew 'who he was'. Towards the end of the video, as the driver can be heard angrily complaining to his passenger about the incident. Although he could not find the culprit afterwards, the driver stated that he has already made a police report regarding the incident and alerted other drivers who frequent the area as well. Netizens' reactions Many netizens managed to joke about the situation, with some encouraging the driver to leave the 'crazy' or 'drunk' man alone to prevent a bigger accident in the future. This is a pretty bizarre incident. --- Thinking of selling your car? sgCarMart Quotz guarantees the highest selling price for your car. Red light-beating lane-cutting bully owned by car camera and internet!
chitchatboy posted a blog entry in MyAutoBlog
Now this is a new level of road bullying. Check out this new post from SG Road Vigilante where the camera car is being harassed by a Toyota Premio from Geylang all the way until the end of the Thomson Flyover on the PIE towards Jurong. The incident happened on 10th of June, 2020 and we all know that there can be no smoke without fire. Coming out from Lor 19 Geylang and merging into Geylang Rd, the camera car must have honked the offending Premio as the Premio appears to be stopping in the middle of a busy and messy four lane road for no reason. In the Premio driver's defence, he could have trying to pick up a passenger as the car is under the Private Hire scheme and can be seen using his hazards. Unfortunately for him, he chose to lose his temper when he was honked at by the camera car, a Toyota Noah/Esquire, which could very likely be another Private Hire vehicle rushing to pick up/drop off another passenger. As we can see, in the process of intimidating the white Toyota MPV camera car, the Premio driver drove through a red light along Geylang Rd. From the various submissions of video to the SGRV's page, the whole event only ended when both of them drove past the Thomson Flyover, with the Premio driver speeding off after wildly gesturing at the camera car. Naturally the comment sections were full of unkind words for the "ah beng" in the Premio... So do you think the Premio driver is in the wrong? Or is there another side to this story? Let us know in the comments below! -
Most of us must be cursing and swearing when the alarm clock rang this morning, as the weather was perfect for sleeping in thanks to the morning thunderstorm. We have almost no doubt that the BMW driver in the following photos must be really angry with himself too! The following photos have been in circulation around social media platorms since the morning of 13 May 2020. Not much is known about the cause of the accident but the it did occur to us that this crash happened between Kallang Road and Geylang Road. The wet roads caused by the rain in the morning might have caused the BMW M2 Competition driver to lose control. With more than 400bhp going to the rear wheels, this is one very 'driftable' weapon...

SINGAPORE - The popular and iconic Geylang Serai Ramadan Bazaar, which the People's Association (PA) organises, will not be returning this year, in the light of the coronavirus situation and the need to practise social distancing in public venues. In response to queries from The Straits Times, a PA spokesman said on Wednesday (March 18) that it is also cancelling the other Hari Raya festive bazaars it usually organises. "For the well-being and safety of our residents, the PA will not be organising festive bazaars and trade fairs with effect from March 18, 2020. This includes the annual Hari Raya Bazaars organised at Wisma Geylang Serai as well as at Our Tampines Hub and in Woodlands," said the spokesman. "As the festive bazaars contribute to the festive mood, we understand that some residents may be disappointed. However, as our bazaars attract large crowds, we have taken the difficult decision not to proceed with these activities." The month-long festive bazaars held during the Muslim fasting month of Ramadan across the island attract large crowds. The bazaars are known for the wide variety of food sold, festive clothes and household decorations. In response to the growing number of Covid-19 cases here, and to prevent community spread, the Government on March 13 had announced that all ticketed cultural, sports and entertainment events with 250 participants or more were to be deferred or cancelled. It also issued an advisory on social distancing in public venues, and to defer or cancel all non-essential events and gatherings. Earlier this month, it was reported that the PA had opened a new tender for this year's Geylang Serai Ramadan Bazaar at the Wisma Geylang Serai social and cultural heritage hub. This tender, which closed on Monday, attracted bids by Adex Group and separately, Corpbiz Events. PA had opened a tender earlier but this was closed on Jan 17 without the tender being awarded. The latest tender document uploaded on government tender portal Gebiz included mitigating factors in which stall owners were required to take to curb the spread of the coronavirus, including social distancing and cleaning programmes. Vendors were also required to check the temperature of their workers every day. The plan was to reduce the number of stalls at the Geylang Serai Ramadan Bazaar from 800 to 50, and grouped in clusters of four with each stall set 10m apart. But on Wednesday PA announced the cancellations. The spokesman said that for trade fairs that are ongoing, the operators have put in additional precautionary measures such as temperature taking and providing hand sanitisers. "For festive bazaars where tenders have been awarded, the organisers will abide by the cancellation clauses and look after the interest of the tenderers," added the spokesman. Last year, about two million people attended the bazaar at Wisma Geylang Serai - the highest ever number recorded for such a bazaar. It surpassed the 1.8 million visitors the year before. The bazaar encompassed the field behind Wisma Geylang Serai, the Tanjong Katong Complex and Haig Road area and the areas around Joo Chiat Complex and Geylang Serai market. https://www.straitstimes.com/singapore/coronavirus-all-ramadan-bazaars-by-peoples-association-including-geylang-bazaar-cancelled?utm_medium=Social&utm_campaign=STFB&utm_source=Facebook&fbclid=IwAR0vS8VP23iVdBhJhRSJMdiqgywLFH_Akqg66Erl_NB4E-guFS17a6_X9Hs#Echobox=1584510095 GOOD DECISION

Geylang Serai Bazaar: Most stalls to sell traditional Malay goods, food required to meet halal criteria. Good news!! Im chinese but i enjoy going to geylang serai bazaar for the festivity during ramadan. i dunno since when the bazaar seems to have lost itself with trying to stay relevant and attract the young crowd --- Reads 'earn money, rake up rentals'. Past few years at least hipster food and drink were everywhere. im too glad that finally the organisers are doing something bout it thou rental capped at 14k by no means is low. Starting this thread for the bazaar food updates in May.

Back From 12 May To 14 June How time flies! The Geylang Serai Ramadan Bazaar, one of the biggest and the most anticipated pasar malam in Singapore, will be back from 12 May (Sat) to 14 June (Thurs). The bazaar will be spread out in a few areas, with most of the food stalls along Haig Road and the Malay Village area (12 May to 14 June) and in front of Tanjong Katong Complex (16 May to 14 June). There will be over 1000 stalls to expect, selling traditional Hari Raya goodies like kuih tart, kuih bangkit, and instagrammable food such as candyfloss burritos, poke bowls, fried durians, and rainbow planet ice-cream buns. However, the bazaar was not without its fair share of controversies last year, namely the increased rents to a record-high reported to be $17,000 for a single 9ft by 9ft space; and over-selling of instagrammable food with less emphasis on more traditional goodies. While last year’s bazaar was all about Thai Iced Milk Tea, Unicorn-anything, and watermelon desserts, food stalls are heard to be churning out more innovative food items to attract the young crowd. We shall see. I'm a food person and I'm back to share haha. Looks like food and drink prices will soar once again because rental has increased as expected.

Gelyang HUAT ah!!!!! http://www.channelnewsasia.com/mobile/singapore/ura-proposes-rezoning-of/1586882.html URA proposes rezoning of parts of Geylang SINGAPORE: The Urban Redevelopment Authority on Tuesday (Jan 13) announced it is proposing to rezone parts of Geylang, so as to better manage the area in question and "prevent spillover of disamenities to surrounding areas". URA said the proposed area is bounded by Geylang Road, Lorong 22 Geylang, Guillemard Road and Lorong 4 Geylang, excluding the parcels of land zoned Road, the lots fronting Geylang Road and the sports field bounded by Talma Road and Lorong 12 Geylang. It plans to rezone this area from Residential/Institution to Commercial/Institution, according to its press release. Explaining the decision, URA Chief Planner Hwang Yu-Ning said in the proposal that Geylang is a "rich and colourful neighbourhood" interspersed with associations, clans, places of worship, shops, offices and residential uses. It is also a traditional red-light area, she noted. "The various entertainment and eating outlets in the area give rise to activities of a certain colour and vibrancy," Ms Hwang said. "With more new residential developments in the area, there has been an increasing spillover of disamenities and friction on the ground. "In our assessment, the growth of new residential community in the area of Lorongs 4-22 Geylang needs to be re-balanced and moderated." She added the new residential developments in the area, which have been approved will not be affected and can proceed to be built. The URA said members of public can submit their feedback, objection or representation to the proposal in writing to the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of National Development, 5 Maxwell Road, Singapore 069110, by Feb 11, 2015. More information on this proposal can be found on the URA website.

http://www.straitstimes.com/breaking-news/singapore/story/woman-robbed-knifepoint-while-parking-geylang-bahru-20131203 A man robbed a woman at knifepoint in her car on Sunday afternoon in Geylang Bahru, in a crime rarely seen in Singapore. The victim, a woman in her 30s, was parking her vehicle near a food centre packed with diners when the robber opened the car door and slipped into the front passenger seat, according to Chinese evening newspaper Shin Min Daily News. After taking her valuables and cash, he forced her to drive to another open-air carpark where he bound her hands with tape before making his getaway. The victim lost about $600 worth of cash and valuables, including an iPhone 5, added the paper. And I thought it was Johor Bahru.

A video showing cameras and what seems to be flashing LED lights on an overhead bridge at Geylang Lorong 16 has caught the attention of netizens online. Some have speculated that the cameras are a new ERP system, while others thought it was a speed camera. The authorities have clarified that the cameras are actually one of the initiatives under the Safe City Test Bed Project announced in May. The project is a partnership between the government and the industry to develop technology that will allow urban cities to optimise resources and better coordinate responses to safety and security threats, urban management concerns and major crises. In this case, the system attempts to integrate existing and new sensors to help agencies have a better understanding of what is happening on the ground. For example, authorities would be able to detect an impending flash flood and decide on possible counter measures, while emergency vehicles could monitor traffic conditions on the road to identify the best route to take should there be traffic congestion. The prototypes, once developed, will be showcased as a model to manage the increasingly complex challenges faced by developed urban cities in a resource-efficient manner. A BMW car caught fire at a carpark in the Geylang Serai on Wednesday (Mar 27), reported STOMPer Wiism who came across the scene and called the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) for help. In his report, the STOMPer wrote: "Was walking by Block 2A in Geylang Serai at about 12.30pm on Mar 27 when I saw smoke coming out from under the hood of a parked BMW 7-series car. "Thinking that something was amiss and being afraid that the car might explode, I called the SCDF and quickly moved to a safe distance from the car. "The car seemed to be unoccupied at the time. "As I waited anxiously for the SCDF to arrive. I noticed some other passers-by try to extinguish the fire by using a fire extinguisher and the water hose, which can be very dangerous. "Nevertheless, the SCDF came promptly to extinguish the fire and thankfully, no one suffered any injuries." http://singaporeseen.stomp.com.sg/stomp/sg...ai_carpark.html

Now that condoms have to be authenticated by the HSA, the price has shot up. So family-planning couplings are doing away with condoms to cut cost, thus resulting in higher pregnancy rate. What a clever move to get more babies in Singapore. Now, they also make money from the sex trade in Geylang, because only condoms authenticated by the HSA at exorbitant cost can be used. See report below: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Subject: Woman arrested with 100 packets of condoms A 30 year old woman was arrested for trying to bring in 100 packs of condoms from JB. She pleaded guilty to importing a medical device not registered with the HSA, and was fined $2000 and jailed for 2 weeks. (recent some editor killing someone while using handphone - fine and 1 day jail) Since condoms have been reclassified as a medical device class C (together with knee and hip implants and other orthopaedic implants used by the orthopaedic surgeon), there is a big shortage of condoms, and the prices have shot through the roof. You must first register a medical device before you can import it, and you need a licence to import a medical device. The ministers are rubbing their hands in glee, because there is an explosion of pregnancies. Why, we should have thought about this long ago, and our population woes would have been no more. To apply for registration of any brand of condoms takes at least 11 months, and it costs $6200, according to the Sunday Times. So for the next 12 months no condoms. Since Ccondoms are now classified as a medical device, sexual intercourse is reclassified as a medical procedure, and soon we have to take a professional exam to prove our proficiency to perform sexual intercourse. The exam will consist of a written test, followed by an (ahem) oral test, and then we must pass the practical test under the watchful eyes of 3 examiners. A certificate of proficiency will then be issued if you pass all these tests, else we have to sit for a re-exam. This must be prominenty displayed in the room, sitting room, car, public park, hotel room, or whatever, when we are having intercourse, because if we are caught by the HSA officials doing this delicate medical procedure without the certificate of proficiency , we can be charged in court and punished severely. After all, we cannot trust any Tom, Dick and Hairy Dick o do a total knee replacement using a Class C medical device without being fully qualified as an orthopaedic surgeon to do knee replacement, can we? No argument about this, is there? We must be properly qualified as a ........ The prostitutes in town are crying foul, and the ministers again patted themselves in the back: There, we have gotten rid of this vice by classifying condoms as a Class C medical device! Why did we not think of this before? Fast forward 6 months. The gynaecologists and town are making tons of money. Teenage pregnancies, any age pregnancies, any pregnancy unwanted -- there is a bonanza of abortions being done. Fast forward 1 year. No increase in take home babies. Big increase of HIV infections, syphilis, gonorrhoea, chlamydia -- you name it. Why, why did they not think of it before? Million dollar brains.

STOMPer Wow was walking at Geylang Lorong 20 at about 4.45pm today when he heard a loud sound. A BMW had crashed into the railing, flinging a signboard at least ten metres away. "The force of the impact had sent the street name signboard flying. "It had landed at least ten metres."

A Chinese national father-and-son duo caused a commotion at Geylang last night when they attacked a restaurant manager with a chopper and even assaulted policemen. The incident happened at about 11.30pm last night at Geylang Lorong 19. Wu Xu Cai (44, renovation worker), together with his wife Dai Gui Zhen (age 40) and his son Wu Qi Qi (18, student) were having dinner at "Su Zhou Restaurant" with three other friends before the commotion began. Wu's friends had wanted to treat the family to a meal to welcome Wu's wife and son, whom had specially come from China to visit him. During the meal, the group downed 24 cans of beer before Wu's friends footed the bill with $130. After paying, Wu's son decided to order two more bottles of beer. Just as the group was leaving, the restaurant staff came up to them to say that they had not paid for the meal. This sparked off a quarrel between the group and the restaurant staff. The manager of the restaurant, Mr Li, tried to intervene and calm everyone down but the quarrel soon turned physical. After a brief tussle, Wu agreed to returned to the restaurant and he went on to pay $217 more. But Wu did not stop his verbal abuse on the restaurant manager. He continued to hurl vulgarities at Mr Li, declaring that he earns $4,000 a month and there is no reason that he cannot pay for his meal. The agitated Wu then dashed into the kitchen, picked up a chopper and threatened the manager with the words, "You think I don't dare to hurt you?" Wu then smashed a beer bottle and swung it at Mr Li's head. Fortunately, Li managed to dodge the swing. During the fight, both father and son had reportedly dashed outside the restaurant and pushed over many chairs. About five other diners were shoved by Wu in the process and they too joined in the fight. One of the men picked up a beer bottle as a weapon and chased Wu's son for about 300 metres to Lorong 23. Wu's son sustained injuries to his head after he was hit by a beer bottle in the attack. He left a large pool of blood at the scene. When the police arrived, Wu attempted to escape but was subdued outside the restaurant. Witnesses say both father and son resisted arrest and even assaulted the policemen. It took four policemen to subdue the duo. When reporters arrived, the father-and-son duo were still highly agitated and continued to struggle to free themselves of the police. Wu was still hurling vulgarities at the policemen as he was put into an ambulance. According to Wu's wife, Dai, the restaurant manager had attacked her husband first. The restaurant manager Mr Li, a Chinese national, said the father-and-son pair took turns to punch him in his face. The massive commotion also drew a large crowd of spectators.

Cabby left taxi unlocked with engine running in Geylang. Fri, Dec 30, 2011 The New Paper By Amanda Yong Sixty seconds. That was all the time it took for someone to jump into her cab and make off with it. The cabby, who wanted to be known only as Miss Teo, 56, told The New Paper that the brazen theft took place in front of a packed coffee shop at Geylang Lorong 29 on Dec 16 at around 3am. The silver Kia Magentis Premier taxi, with registration number SHC6896G, is still missing 12 days after the incident. Inside the vehicle were about $1,000 in cash, a gold pendant worth about $300, two mobile phones worth about $90 in total, a DVD player and two CashCards. Miss Teo's identity card, taxi licence card and other personal documents were also in the taxi. She told The New Paper in a phone interview yesterday she lost her taxi just because she wanted to get a quick cup of coffee to keep her going. She had dropped a few passengers off at Malacca Hotel on Still Road after picking them up from the Budget Terminal and stopped her taxi at a nearby bus stop to finish her half-eaten meal of instant noodles. "Then I drove to the Geylang area, where I saw a lot of coffee shops. and decided to get a cup of coffee," she said in Mandarin. "But I couldn't find a parking space until I turned into Geylang Lorong 29. I saw an empty space right behind another cab and I took it." The spot was just outside the front gate of the Sagaramudra Buddhist Institute. She said she left the door unlocked, the engine running and the key in the ignition as she has had problems locking the vehicle with the engine on. And she usually left the engine running as she had problems restarting the car. She thought nothing of leaving the cab that way since she was less than 10m away. "I thought it was very safe. The coffee shop was crowded with people, there was nobody on the road and I was going to be away for only a few minutes," she said. "It never crossed my mind that anyone would touch my cab, much less open the door, get in and drive away." But she still kept an eye on the cab while she was at the coffee shop, she said. "From where I was standing, I could see the front of the car and the only time I turned away was when I took out a $50 note to pay for the coffee and had to wait for change," she said. "I think it must have been in that one minute that whoever it was - maybe someone at the coffee shop who had been observing me - stole the cab." After she got her coffee, she walked back to where she had parked the vehicle only to find the spot empty. "I thought someone had moved the car because I had blocked another vehicle, so I walked further down the road to look for it," she said. She got increasingly panicky when she couldn't find it. She asked a few passers-by along the way if they had seen her cab, but no one did. "I walked all the way down to Geylang Road, but didn't see it," she said. This was when she called the police using a phone she borrowed from a passer-by. After giving her statement, she wandered around the vicinity for the next two hours in a daze. "I just walked and walked, looking for my car, but also because I didn't know what to do. I was numb and in a state of shock," she said. It was only later that she alerted her taxi company. "I've been a cab driver for more than 20 years and this is the first time something like that has happened to me," she said. Miss Teo said she has left the cab unlocked and the engine running before. On those occasions, she was also away from the vehicle for only a minute or so and could keep watch on it. "If I'm going for a meal or to the toilet and will be away for longer than a few minutes, I would definitely not leave the cab unlocked," she said. She is still reeling from the loss of her cab. HER CAB, HER HOME "I'm very disgusted with the person who stole it. It was not only my income, it was my home," she said. "It was where I would eat and sleep because I don't work shifts. I don't have anyone to share the cab rental with because it's very hard to find a second driver," she said. She pays daily rental of $102 to the cab company, she said. She takes home slightly more than $1,000 a month. Miss Teo said she doesn't own a flat and goes to her younger brother's Tampines flat to shower and get a fresh change of clothes every night after she takes him home from work. Sometimes, she buys dinner for her parents, who are both in their 80s. Since her cab was stolen, she has been sitting at home and has had to borrow money from her brother for her daily expenses. "My cab company says it will provide a replacement, but, I don't know when I'll get it," she said. Premier Taxis could not respond to our queries by press time. When contacted, a police spokesman said the police received a call about the theft at 3.40am. Investigations are ongoing.
