  1. [extract] Porsche has worked hard in trying to slim down the Porsche Cayenne and I believe that it has paid off in the current or second generation type 958 series. However I now believe that Gemballa thinks that the current 958 Porsche Cayenne should look as bulky as its predecessor with its very, very slab sided looks. Look at the Gemballa Porsche Cayenne Turbo pictured here and see if you agree with what I think. The 2012 Gemballa Tornado Porsche Cayenne Turbo (Type 958) is actually Gemballa's first tuning exercise since the company revamped after the disappearance and murder of founder Uwe Gemballa. Aside from my complaint that the bodykit is a little bulky, it still is very in-your-face and it has styling cues taken from Mansory, which I believe is the current King of in-your-face aftermarket body styling. Maybe its the two tone colour scheme used on the vehicle. And now that I think about it the rear lights also remind me of another tuning car company
  2. Uwe Gemballa may be dead but the company that bears his name lives on. This Gemballa tuned Porsche Cayenne Turbo is proof of it. Aptly named the Porsche Cayenne Gemballa Tornado it showcases the newly formed Gemballa GmBH, a company built on the ashes of the debt ridden original company helmed by the late Uwe Gemballa. The Tornado is based on the latest type 958 Porsche Cayenne and it the company's latest model. It showcases what this new, old company can do to a Porsche. Now under the hands of a previous employee or two, you can see that nothing has basically changed. Gemballa is still Gemballa. Everything is still as outrageous as we come to expect from them. A distinctive bodykit with the now common lightweight carbon fiber bits, huge 22inch wheels, larger diameter discs to fit and look properly under those gargantuan wheels, quad tailpipes, two tone paintjob and 700bhp - to create your own little tornado if you pass by smaller cars as you speed by courtesy of the tweaked ECU and boost settings as well as that sports exhaust system. It is as mad as the previous Gemballa Cayenne made; the Avalanche series. I suppose the interior would be as customized too. The last Gemballa (a 911 Turbo) I happened to look into had a cream and red leather interior. Not for the fainthearted. Gemballa will twist out a limited 30 units of the 700hp Tornado for 2011. This is in reference to Gemballa's 30 year anniversary this year. Gemballa is dead, long live Gemballa.
