  1. https://mothership.sg/2020/03/bishan-marina-otters-fight/ Two otter families in Singapore got into an epic gang fight in the portion of the canal that cuts through Braddell near Bishan. The fight on Sunday, March 29 at about noon was between 11 Marina otters on the left and 15 Bishan otters on the right. Both families clashed like the cinematic final battle scene in Avengers: Endgame, except both sides were squeaking uncontrollably, as if they were chanting poem. For the first 6 seconds of the video, you can see the otters approaching, but still holding their horses. Right after that, they squeaked louder and threw themselves headlong into battle: Although it looked cute, with all the incessant squeaking and water-splashing antics, the fight spilled over to the grass patch on the side, and was apparently more vicious than it looked. There were no deaths reported, but some of the otters got injured and were witnessed to be limping after the fight. What happened after clash According to otter watchers, Ottercity, loud squeaks were heard again at about 5pm and both factions fought again, this time in Bishan Park in front of a large crowd of park goers. The second round ended with the Marina otters being separated into two groups, with one group of six caught on video looking nervous and defensive. The Marina otters swam around the pond, always calling, and it soon became clear why. They were calling out for one lost member, who then emerged to join the rest. By the time night fell, only six of the 11 Marina otters congregated. It is not known what happened after that. Background to feud This particular otter feud is a long-running one that has spanned five years since 2015. The bigger Bishan otter family of 15 had started out in Bishan Park with just three pups. In 2015, a big switch happened. The Bishan otters went south to prime territory Marina Bay and displaced the Marina otters. The Marina otters remained on the move, travelling between East Coast and Singapore River before relocating to Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park. Essentially, the two families had switched territories. This latest skirmish is considered a homecoming of sorts as the Bishan otters swam up Kallang River and are coming back to Bishan Park after spending time in Marina Bay. As to why they are doing so, it is most likely a fight over territory and access to resources. Fights between both sides have occurred before, such as in 2018. Their fight strategies have been scrutinised previously.

  4. Last night at about 920pm, I heard shoutings and metal hitting noise coming from car park downstairs.. Being nosey I went to the window, only to see a champagne Altis parked awkwardly beside a white harrier.. a black ES5/8 Civic stopped in the middle of the road in front of the white harrier.. and a mini bus with rear sliding doors wide opened.. There were a total of at least 8-10 people surrounding the white harrier.. with about 2-3 people holding tools like wrench in their hands.. There were about 3 of them were gals.. They were trying to stop the white harrier from driving off.. and forcing open the doors by breaking the windows.. Another commotion was at the void deck, sounding like 2-3 of these people shouting back to a guy who looked like the leader of the whole gang.. The leader kept shouting back to his men "Verify! verify! have you verified?".. Thought were that probably some consequences of outraging of modesty gone wild.. Meanwhile the commotion at the white harrier continued.. Window was smashed, and doors were forced open.. No driver at the seat, but a passenger beside the driver seat.. These guys started opening the doors and boots, while a few tried to stop the only passenger from running away with hostility and force. The passenger, a guy probably in his 30s looked intimidated after some tugging of his clothes by one or two of these guys. He stayed still, didnt dare to move.. These guys all in their 20s, except the leader who looked maybe late 20s to mid 30s, and an uncle who looked about late 40s. These two elders seemed to be commanding and orchestrating the whole 'assault'. Neighbours and passerbys started to crowd in some distance to watch the commotion.. No one seemed to have called the police.. These people started to search the white harrier.. Maybe he might have stolen something.. 30 min passed.. a patrol car came.. Cant believe these police. Just a day back, neighbours quarrelled came 3 patrol cars, 9 police officers.. This one, involved 2 cars, 1 mini bus, at least 12 people in something that looked like a gang fight/riot/assault, they sent only one patrol car with 2 officers. One of the guys went to the patrol car, spoke a few words.. and the patrol car left.. So maybe these people were police officers as well.. Then whatever searched from the harrier were dropped into clear plastic bags and left in the mini bus.. And cordoned off the area with the 'police' strips.. They got the passenger out handcuffed. Oh so it's probably CNB in actions.. Very drama.. really like those HK gang fights movies.. Whole commotion ended after about 2 hours, when the passenger were brought away in the mini bus.. A tow truck came to tow away the harrier..
  5. Not sure if this incident really happened during the recent Bersih 3.0 demonstration in KL or somewhere else but the many dark uniformed security personnel were rather brutal against the defenseless guy in purple. They were punching, kicking and using cane to whack the living daylights out of the purple shirted bloke. Warning: The video footage at the end was rather graphic and showed the brutality committed against the poor man. Watched it at your own discretion. From STOMP: http://singaporeseen.stomp.com.sg/stomp/sg...ps_bash_up.html This Urban Jungle Posted on 02 May 2012 Police or hooligans? Malaysian cops gang up to whack, cane and kick man in public STOMPer AO was appalled by this video of uniformed Malaysian policemen punching, kicking and caning a man in public. He wonders if such violent acts from just over the Causeway could ever happen here. The incident is believed to have occurred during the Bersih 3.0 demonstrations that took place on Apr 28 in Kuala Lumpur. Thousands of people had gathered near Merdeka Square to challenge electoral rules in light of upcoming elections in Malaysia. Another video showing a police car losing control and ramming into a crowd of demonstrators also surfaced on the internet earlier. STOMPer AO wrote: "I do not want to say anything, just watch the video and make your own judgement! "What are human rights? "What if this were to happen in our own country? They are acting like GANGSTERS!"

  7. From STOMP: http://singaporeseen.stomp.com.sg/stomp/sg...ang_member.html Posted on 29 Jan 2012 A sister's plea: Help, police! My brother is a 369 gang member A STOMPer would like to share details of her brother's lifestyle as part of a gang which calls themselves '369'. The STOMPer also appeals for police intervention so that the youths can be prevented from committing a serious crime. Said the STOMPer: "I was very concerned when I happened to find a knife and spray paint in my brother's school bag. Hence I decided to stalk him. "He has been mixing with a group of boys in 515/888 Woodlands area. Coincidentally, my guy friend was also approached by them. "They proclaim to be 369. My friend apologised but was forced to join them before they let him off. "After weeks of stalking, I found out my brother was involved in fights and chasing illegal debts, spraying people's houses. "There were times when I called the police for they were carrying weapons, and seemed to be preparing for a fight. The rival group always ran away, upon seeing them chasing with big knives in their hands. "Though the police were alert, my brother and his gang always managed to flee. "I called the police though my brother is involved. I would rather have him getting his punishment now then to really kill someone and get life imprisonment. "They often hang around at Woodlands Block 515/888. They always hang out in a group of 15 and get into fights, bullying the weak. "I witnessed a couple of fights where they surround the victims and bash them up under the nose of people siting at the coffee shops. "Those pictures were downloaded from my brother's FB. They were so outragous to even state their logo, taking away the zeros -- 65369 meaning 6 ave 369 in Hokkien which I got to know after approching people I know who were previously gamg members. "One guy seems to be the head of this group for his girlfriend needs to be accompanied by 2 others wherever she goes, even to the toilet. "I had been trying to approach the police's Secret Societies Branch (SSB) for help but couldn't get through the line. "I can't stalk my brother day and night or alert the police on time hence I go through this channel, hoping people in our area will help keep watch and avoid having disputes with them. "Do not hesitate to call 999 if you see them carrying weapons or getting into fights. You may be saving their future. "I really hope they stop whatever they are doing. They are only a bunch of 16-year-old kiddos."

  9. http://sg.yfittopostblog.com/2011/02/17/46...gang-gathering/ Forty-six male diners were arrested for suspected involvement in gang activities at Turf City. It felt like a scene out of a Hong Kong police drama serial, said Madam Doris Yeo, the owner of Chong Pang BBQ Seafood. Madam Yeo, 49, was getting ready to knock off work early on Tuesday night to join her husband for their 26th wedding anniversary when the police came knocking on the door of her barbecue seafood restaurant on the second floor of Turf City. She said she was busy behind the drinks counter at the time when some officers in plainclothes shut the glass sliding doors of the main entrance.
  10. Quote: LONDON - A MALAYSIAN student was allegedly drugged and raped in a London college by seven Russian men, including an intelligence officer, who have been arrested, reported a British newspaper. According to The Sun daily, the teenage girl, who is studying at the prestigious Bellerbys College in Greenwich, South London, was at a party on Jan 23 with other English-language students when she was drugged and assaulted by the seven men. As they raped the 18-year-old in succession, they filmed the attack on iPhones. The footage was retrieved by police when they arrested the men later. 'The incident was horrific,' the newspaper quoted a source as saying. 'Mobile phone footage has been recovered that clearly shows the girl to be under the influence of drugs.' The victim reportedly raised the alarm after staggering into a friend's room. 'She is distraught. She is very young and it is believed she was given a drug before being defiled,' said the source. Four men have been charged with the assault, including intelligence officer Oleg Vladimirvich Ivanov, 23. All four were aged between 22 and 26. http://www.straitstimes.com/Breaking...ry_630281.html
  11. Gang attacks motorist By Khushwant Singh ANGRY that a motorist had honked at him, Li Guoshing, 24, blocked and kicked the vehicle. He and 10 friends later attacked the motorist. On Thursday, Li pleaded guilty to both offences and was jailed six months for being a member of an unlawful assembly that attacked Mr Eric Lee Shi Da. For kicking the car, he was fined $2,000 and ordered to pay $700 to compensate for the damage he caused. Mr Lee, 28, was driving with a friend, when a group of men dashed across the road in front of Club Sabai Sabai at Shenton Way. Mr Lee had to brake abruptly and sounded his horn. Li walked up to the front of the car and hurled obscenities at the two occupants. When Mr Lee refused his challenge to come out, Li kicked the front of the car. After Li moved away, Mr Lee drove to a nearby car park and discovered that the front body kit along the bumper of his car was broken. He and his friend then returned to the area outside Club Sabai Sabai. As he was trying to settle the matter with Li, Mr Lee received a blow on his back and fell. Li and his group then punched and kicked him repeatedly, only stopping when the club's security officers intervened. He was later treated at the Singapore General Hospital for bruises on the head, neck and arm. A third charge of behaving in a riotous manner by repeatedly charging at a patron with a bottle in Club Sabai Sabai was taken into consideration by District Judge Lee Poh Choo when passing sentence. Two of Li's accomplices - Chang Pui See, 30, and Allan Low Seng Yoong, 35, have been charged but not dealt with. Source

  13. Gang leader gets 18 years' jail for two killings By Alethea Lim Court Correspondent AT 16, Balachandran Bernard became the section head of the '369' secret society. For giving the go-ahead, Balachandran bore responsibility for the assaults. --WONG KWAI CHOW The middle child in a family of three boys, he assumed the top position in the gang's Teban Gardens area after the then section head was sent to jail. Balachandran, who was educated only up to Primary 5, had been recruited into the gang three years earlier. His new position included reporting the group's activities to the gang's main leader. He also became a mentor for those members who went to him for help. A year after his release, , he ordered two separate attacks which resulted in two men being killed and a third being injured seriously. Yesterday, Balachandran, now 20, was sentenced to 18 years' jail and the maximum 24 strokes of the cane. He had on Tuesday pleaded guilty to two counts of manslaughter while being part of an unlawful assembly and one charge of causing grievous hurt with dangerous weapons while part of a gang. His lawyer, Mr S.S. Dhillon, said the youth never laid a finger on the two men whom his gang battered to death. Balachandran had only participated in the assault on Mr Nasir Din Meera Sahib, 37. But Judicial Commissioner Woo Bih Li disagreed and said that 'the person who gave the go-ahead is no less responsible than the attackers' and should bear primary responsibility for the assaults. The first attack happened at East Coast Park , where the gang assaulted Mr Hamzir Hamin, 41, using wooden poles and metal rods. Mr Hamzir died in hospital from multiple head injuries four days later. On Oct 15, the gang set upon Mr Nasir Din and his friend, Mr Roslan Mohamed, 31, with parangs. The pair were at a pub in City Plaza in Geylang Road celebrating Mr Roslan's birthday. Mr Roslan died at the scene from a neck wound while his friend received 50 slashes and spent 15 days in hospital with injuries to his arms, back, neck, scalp and chest. The attacks on both occasions were unprovoked. Balachandran went on the run but was arrested last July in Johor Baru. In a statement read out in court, victim Nasir Din said: 'They slashed me a few times on my back. I was bleeding all over my body.' When he collapsed, the gang continued slashing him. 'I thought I was going to die,' recalled the father of two children, aged 13 and six months. Mr Nasir Din stopped work because of his injuries. He has already spent about $30,000 on his medical bills. 'I have to live with the ordeal of losing a good friend and being a burden to my family. I will never forget this terrifying incident for the rest of my life,' he said.

  18. Workers' Party says Singapore workers disadvantaged Posted: 01 May 2008 0659 hrs SINGAPORE: The Singapore economic model, one in which Singaporeans are dependent on foreigners for their jobs, has eroded the societal standing of the Singapore worker, suggested the Workers' Party (WP) in its May Day message on Wednesday. The WP cited an anecdote from Mr Lim Boon Heng, Minister in the Prime Minister's Office, at the recent Singapore Tripartism Forum, of a woman concerned about a "sweet, young beer girl from China" undercutting her wages at the coffee shop. According to The Straits Times, Mr Lim had said the young girl drew more customers, in turn helping the Singaporean to keep her job. "According to Mr Lim's logic, is he conceding the People's Action Party has created an economic model whereby Singaporeans must now be dependent on the foreign workers to retain our jobs?" asked the WP statement, which cited how 60 percent of the 234,900 jobs created last year went to foreigners. The party also questioned if the "rosy picture" of the record job growth had masked some disadvantages. "Could it be that more Singaporeans are holding contractual part-time work positions, whereas foreigners might be benefiting from the full-time positions created?" asked the WP. The job figures required "more detailed analysis to understand the actual employment status" of Singaporeans and their employment terms, such as medical benefits and annual leave. The WP ended its message with a call for more help measures from the government, in the context of rising food prices, "on top of the initiatives (such as the U Stretch food voucher programme) by the National Trades Union Congress". While the party did not suggest food subsidies "across the board", it repeated its call to reduce the Goods and Services Tax to 5 percent and to keep it at that rate for "at least a year". It also suggested the government reduce fuel taxes. - TODAY/so May 1, 2008 S'poreans may lose jobs without foreign workers: PM SINGAPOREANS should look at the contributions of foreign workers objectively - they are not here to steal their jobs, but to help enlarge the economic pie for the country. Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, speaking in Mandarin at the May Day Rally on Thursday morning, sought to explain why foreign workers can help strengthen Singapore's overall competitiveness. He noted that some Singaporeans think that foreign workers are the problem because they are under-cutting the wages of locals. As an example, he mentioned recent reports in newspaper about coffee-shops hiring foreign workers, which became a talking point. An older Singaporean woman has lamented to Minister Lim Boon Heng (Prime Minister's Office) that these young, pretty foreigners were taking jobs away from locals. 'Boon Heng replied, half joking, that maybe this was how the drinks stores attracted more customers; with more business, locals will be able to keep their jobs, and so the PRC young lady was indirectly helping the Singaporean woman,' PM Lee told the rally. Some people disagreed with Boon Heng's answer. Mr Lee himself also thinks it may not be a good thing to have more pretty beer ladies who encourage people to drink more. But he said the former labour chief had a serious point. The PM gave three reasons: First, foreign workers are hardworking and willing to work long hours. By hiring them, coffee shops can open late, or even 24 hours, round the clock. Second and more importantly, with the help of foreign workers, airport, seaport, factories, offices, hotels, restaurants and retail outlets can offer better service and business hours: 365 days a year, 24 hours a day, they can run their operations, service their customers, and so strengthen Singapore's overall competitiveness. Third, many SMEs do not make good profits, especially the neighbourhood shops. If they can hire some foreign workers in addition to the locals, they can reduce their business costs; otherwise, they may have to go out of business. Thier Singaporean employees will then lose their jobs. PM Lee said the Government is controlling the inflow of foreign workers, by setting limits on the proportion of foreign workers they can hire and imposing a levy. This gives Singaporean workers the edge in competing for jobs. 'Overall, our policies are creating many job opportunities for Singaporeans,' he added. http://www.straitstimes.com/Latest%2...ry_232960.html
