CNA repoprt : Jail term and caning for fortune teller who raped daughter of medium By Claire Huang | Posted: 27 August 2012 1244 hrs SINGAPORE: A fortune teller has been sentenced to 12 years' jail and six strokes of the cane for raping the daughter of a medium. Siah Kwang Yung, 40, admitted to raping an 18-year-old girl on September 12 last year at about midnight. Investigations showed that the victim's mother is deeply religious and that she has been practising as a medium for the past nine years. On September 5, the mother chanced upon Siah, who was offering fortune-telling services at a make-shift stall along Waterloo Street. Siah convinced the victim's mother that a demon had possessed her body and was the cause of her bad luck. On September 7, Siah visited the woman's flat and said he had to stay there to exorcise the demons in the house. On September 12, Siah made his move on the victim. He told the victim's mother, her boyfriend, the victim's brother and his friend to stay out of the girl's room. Then Siah proceeded to rape the victim in her bedroom. Earlier in court, the prosecution pointed out several aggravating factors in the case. The prosecution said Siah abused the family's trust in him and manipulated them. In fact, Siah had brazenly asked the victim's mother if he could perform a ritual with the victim naked. His request was rejected by the mother. The prosecution described Siah's act as despicable and asked for a sentence significantly higher than the benchmark of 10 years' jail and six strokes of the cane. The maximum penalty for the offence under 375(2) of the Penal Code is 20 years' imprisonment with a fine or caning. - CNA/wm None win ...... Fancy a medium would believe a fortune teller .... Angry couple thrashes fortune teller's stall 15 Sept 2011 Shin Min News A couple thrashed a fortune teller's stall outside the popular Kwan Im temple at Waterloo Street yesterday afternoon. The fortune teller, known only as a plump man in his 30s, had allegedly swindled the couple and had sex with the couple's daughter in a supposed exorcism. The Chinese couple (age 50s) has a sickly daughter in her 20s. They had gone to the famous Kwan Im temple to pray for their daughter's health and were approached by the fortune teller who offered his help. The couple was surprised when the fortune teller somehow knew that they have a sickly daughter. He told them their daughter was possessed by spirits and had to be exorcised. He offered to exorcise her at their home. After the deed, the couple paid the man a few hundred dollars for his "help", only to find out later from their daughter that she was made to have sex with him. The furious couple went back to the man's stall to confront him but could no longer find him. They resorted to thrashing his stall. The duo created a commotion as they overturned tables and chairs, then smashed the stall's altar and incense burner. Eyewitnesses say the couple was swearing loudly and the woman was heard wailing "You cheated our money and took advantage of our daughter!" No one went up to stop them from thrashing the stall. There are more than ten other fortune tellers in the area, many of whom say the missing fortune teller is a con man who knows nothing. The man has also been missing for the past few months.

I don't. But i know a friend who recently went to KL and met this indian fortune teller, who keeps some very old looking leaves. On the leaves are many tiny word carvings . The indian fortune teller then took out a leaf which purportedly belong to my friend's history and future. From it, the fortune teller actually can tell things about her, like what is her parents name, her birthdate, her personal history etc. According to the fortune teller, her future ss already written on the leaves, like her future husband will be a chinese (but she likes non-chinese men though she is chinese herself and asked the fortune teller), and what age she will marry. How can this be true ? Is it really some well plan con-job or really the leaves is so fascinating ? Now she is going back to see him again next weekend. I would like to hear your opinion. Thanks.

hey guys, since i may be going to K.L. this weekend, maybe you guys got any good and resoanably priced fortune teller in K.L area to recommend? i used to consult one in Tangkak (between Muar & Melacca), very ZHUN but unfortunately he had pass away.

Now the question is whether Nissan can get its own house in order after a 54% drop in its latest quarterly profit. Nissan said Thursday that its net profit slumped 54%, to 70.6 billion yen ($591.4 million), in the three months through March down from 152.4 billion yen ($1.3 billion), in the corresponding period last year. As with most Japanese companies, Nissan's fiscal year ends in March. Sales rose 7 %, to 2.8 trillion yen ($23.5 billion), but the rise was offset by layoff compensation and rising taxes. For its full fiscal year, Nissan Motor (nasdaq: NSANY - news - people ) profit fell 11%, to 460.8 billion yen ($3.9 billion), marking the first decline in seven years under Chief Executive Officer Carlos Ghosn. Sales rose 11%, to 10.5 trillion yen ($875.6 billion).
