  1. Got a 2009 Sylphy 1.5 (non-CVT). Been having intermittent erratic idling when stationary and engine hesitation when accelerating; CEL light didn't come on. Spark plugs and air filter are newish and I clean the MAF sensor with CRC cleaner regularly. Brought to workshop (ex-Tan Chong staff) for checking but no fault codes surfaced. Swapped MAF sensor, filter, PCV valve but couldn't pinpoint the problem. What else could it be? Clogged injectors, faulty crankcase positioning sensor? Thanks for any help.
  2. guys, i need advise, for the past 3 days, whenever i cold start my vios, RPM will be erratic. normally, it will rev till approx 1.8k to warm the engine oil and will slowly reduce RPM once it is sufficiently warmed approx 2 mins. now, it is NOT reving when i start it and it will be slowly reving upwards approx 100rpm at a time, and all of sudden shoot to 2k and come down abruptly. meaning to say that the engine is reving it heart out and idling almost at the same time. any one know what is wrong with it. thanks in advance
  3. Dear %%%, I am an owner of a Chevrolet Optra. The fuel gauge indicator of my car has been erratic as of lately and this has caused me a great deal of inconvenience. I had highlighted this problem twice to Starsauto but they refuse to do anything about it. Instead, they show me your e-mail reply to them regarding fuel gauge indicators. I was very amused by your reply which simply stated that there have been too many similar cases and no more gauges are to be replaced. Is that all that you can or are supposed to do? It should be the responsibility of your company to assess the cause of this problem and recall cars once a feasible solution has been attained. Perhaps you are not aware of the implications to owners of the cars with faulty indicators. Take my case for example... I have almost always got into trouble with the woodlands checkpoint authorities due to the highly fluctuating indicator of my car. Throughout my journey to the checkpoint, the fuel gauge fluctuates up and down. And we are not talking about minor fluctuations here. An indication of 7/8 tank can actually drop to below 3/4 just driving from Bukit Panjang to Woodlands Checkpoint and back up to 3/4 after crossing it. During the initial stages after topping up full tank, the indicator would not move at all for a few days, after which it would start to fluctuate(significantly, up and down) even while I am driving. I have also not been able to monitor my fuel consumption as a result. Please let me know if GM can do anything to rectify this fault or not so that I can look for other avenues to settle this problem. Thanks.
  4. My N16 Auto Sunny battery was flat as I forgot to off the parking lights. I took the battey out to recharge. Now, the car is running, battery volts 12.7, alternator charge 13.8, but idling when is Drive position and brakes on is low about 500 rpm sometimes. On the move when heavy braking when coming to stop, car vibrates and feels like cutting off ignition and steering feel is heavy like lost of vacumn assist pressure. Is there something wrong or it takes a while to adjust ?
