Hi ALL, anyone knows how to power a blender using a battery? Or anyone is able to help me modify the blender socket head so that it can be powered using a battery pack. I need it to be portable, so can't get power from power point. Need to modify it by getting power to drive the blender using battery supply. Greatly Appreciated. Thanks!

Need some advise here from Home DIYers ( and I don't mean people who DIY at home @chowyunfatt ) My home renovation is about 5-6yrs old. At least 2 of the wall electrical sockets are in this state: I think the black stump that the long screw is drilled into broke off at the base. What are my options to remedy this? (mods, I used the search button for various permutations of what I wanted to find but came up naught. Please help me merge into any of the existing thread as you deem fit.)

I just realize that many home electrical appliances can be cross used, or they share many common functions. Just to share some of the functions i happen to know, come on in and share what you use your home appliances for beside the original function. Rice cooker, not only for cooking rice, many rice cooker can be used to cook porridge, soup steam food as well. I used my to cook porridge, green bean soup, red bean soup, cook soup and keep food warm. Best part is no need to look after the fire, just drop into pot, close and on power. Convention Oven ( the one with a fan), this one is solid, use it to grill, bake, toast, and it even works like an air fryer. Now I even use it to toast bread, toast 9-12 pieces at one go, no need to wait. Even use it to air fried chicken wings. Steamer, this one not only for steaming food, use it to heat up food without getting the food dry up. Use lesser water than steaming over fire, faster and no need to watch fire. I even tried steaming rice and it worked just fine. LOL anyone got any experience to add on and share?

I thought that I have been reading more about cars burning down on the roads. Indeed, earlier reports say that 106 cars caught fire in 2013, up from 100 in 2012. Meanwhile, 9 more motorcycles caught fire last year, as the number of cases rose by close to 40 per cent, to 32 cases last year. The SCDF went on to advise that most vehicle fires in Singapore occur while vehicles are travelling, often caused by ignition sources such as overheating and electrical faults within the engine compartment. After I installed my car alarm and in-car camera, I have been experiencing battery drain... basically from time to time if I do not drive the car for a few days, my battery may end up being fully discharged. This has happened a few times in the last few months already. Initially, I thought it was a battery issue but after having it checked at autobacs and also with a battery test device that I bought, I found the battery to still be working fine. I also thought it was because I seldom drive but recently I have been driving alot more and the situation still remains. I am now suspecting that the mechanic who connected the equipment to my car did not do a good job and had resulted in something being shorted inside thereby causing the drain. Is there any recommended workshop who is good with these things and can check out the connections done to my car, maybe with a multimeter to figure out if something is draining my battery away unnecessarily?

big digging project once and for all? more congestion coming that might affect commuting. --- Singapore Power to build cross-island tunnels for electrical cables by Woo Sian Boon Updated 10:54 AM Sep 17, 2012 SINGAPORE - To minimise public inconvenience due to road-digging works to replace or maintain electricity cables, Singapore Power is embarking on its Transmission Cable Tunnel Project, in which two cross-island tunnels will house the island's extra-high voltage electricity transmission cables. The tunnels, which will be constructed 60 metres underground, will facilitate faster and more efficient maintenance and replacement of cables. SP has awarded six contracts to five construction companies for the project. The five companies are Hyundai Engineering, Nishimatsu Construction & KTC Civil Engineering and Construction, Obayashi Corporation, Samsung C & T Corporation and SK Engineering & Construction. Construction for two 35km long tunnels - the North-South and East-West - will begin at the end of the year, and continue until 2018. One of SP's largest infrastructure undertakings to date, the S$2 billion project will provide power to more than 1.3 million commercial, industrial and residential customers in Singapore. Hi I replacing my existing T5 batten on my cove ceiling to LED strip light. I notice the previous electrician had this wiring connection 2 black wire (N) - 1 connector 1 red wire (L) - 1 connector 2 earth wire (E) - 1 connector instead of 1no of each N,L,E from my LED. How do i connect?

My Reverse camera is color. But it always display B&W since day it was installed one year ago. But on rainy days, or when car is wet.....sometimes the reverse camera display up as color image! Also my car alarm on/off chirp is also wonky. It might sound a weak chirp when the car is wet. On dry days, the chirp is mostly non-sounding. Meaning no audible on/off sound. It was chirping nicely when it was installed one year ago...but along the way..perhaps say 3months...the chirp starts misbehaving. I am not sure it's due to the weak battery or not. But then my 200RMS woofer is still sounding great, so I don't want to believe that it might be the weak battery issue. My lights do no flicker when the Bass is booming away. The problem is made more puzzling, on days I blast the music real loud on way to work/home, after reading the destination. On locking the car, the chirp will sound, but a half fark weak chirp. Really hate to strip the wiring to recheck the camera or car alarm. Anyone has similar experience and can identify the most probable cause of it?

I'm looking for a Single Pole, Triple Throw (SPTT) toggle switch with 6 connection terminals. I'm already using a SPTT rocker switch but the contact on one end is not so good so I'm looking to replace this switch. Have tried Sim Lim Tower and Autobacs but failed to find this kind of switch. Anyone knows where I can find it?

Calling all electricians and electrical engineers While watching TV, my power tripped. I checked the breaker box the main switch was off indicating high current draw. I turned it on but it keeps tripping. I go around switching off devices and found out it was the washing machine. It is a year old Brandt. Basket, just 3 weeks out of warranty! What is the possible cause of the high current draw? This was not a short to ground. The only thing in it I can think off is the big starting capacitor. The washing machine was not running when it started to draw high current. If it was a short the branch circuit breakers would have tripped right? Any advice?

Eg, wiring to power GPS, instead of using the provided 12v socket power supply or installing additional 12v points at the rear of MPVs with switch I know any accesories shops can do this but, any recommended shops with good service at reasonable rates?

I'm thinking of purchasing a plasma TV from USA knowing full well that it runs on 110V while we use 240V. The questions: 1) Is it safe (for the plasma TV) to use a step up transformer for this case? 2) What happens if the transformer breaks down? Will the plasma TV be damaged by the jump in voltage? Thanks.

Basically, my meter up lorry since i moved in. I abit gong3, so i thought my bill quite low, very good! Turns out that the meter spoil. So SP fixed it and took the reading from the next month, multiply by the few months the meter up lorry, then they try to backcharge me. How i try to complain, read the above URL. But the thing is, are they reasonable? if not, what is proper action to take? bearing in mind that my feb consumption shd be higher than last yrs (my usage pattern i should know). no attempt was made to contact me. only inform me via letter after they decided on their course of action Mods, if this is regarded as repeat post (diff angle on same topic, but still...) pls inform me and i'll copy my initial posts from that thread onto this one, then can delete. paiseh hor the pple i spoke to offline, including the reporter who interviewed me seem to suggest that many more pple are dissatisfied with SP. hope the can of worms i opened is very very big

Hi guys, to use our electrical appliance items in USA (San francisco, las vegas), is it sufficient to just use an adapter? or do i need to use some kind of converter since USA power outlet is 110V? And is it using the 2 blade adapter or the 2 blades and 1 pin above? Thanks =)
