  1. Hi all, I came across a year 2006 E200K (W211) with an extremely high mileage of around 200,000 km. The condition looks good (from the photos) but I have not test drive yet. Would like to hear from fellow bros here on your take on this. Also, any E200K owners here can advice on the likely list of wear and tear parts associated with this mileage? Thank you in advance !
  2. Hi My E200K W211 model have rattling noise for a few second at times during start up, can someone recommend a reliable workshop so that I could send my car for diagnostic? Thanks.
  3. Hi ... Noob question ... what's the difference between E200ML & E200K (W211)? Both are 1.8L, only visual difference is ML being older & the rims looked different Thanks in advance ... and apologise if you fall off the chair seeing such question
  4. hi, helping father-in-law to service his merc. decided not to send in to C&C since warranty period is over. anyone knows how much engine oil is required for oil change? and when to change ATF? how much and what type of ATF required appreciate any help. thanks
  5. Hi All, Saw an ad in papers by PI offering the previous model E200 (W211) for $148k, got quite some colors/units, maybe clearing remaining stock. I know many fall for the new E-class ... but looking at the price factor, it's on par (if not cheaper) with the C180 from C&C ($150k plus?) ... So which is a better choice in your opinion ... I bet E200 is surely a more complete car than C180, but the "PI" fear exist ...
  6. Just had my 1st servicing around 10,000km, and my fuel consumption actually improved significantly! For the usual trip from my parents-in-law's place to mine, the onboard computer improved as follows: Before: 8.2 km/100 litre = 12.1 km/litre Now: 7.5 km/`00 litre = 13.3 km/litre This is amazing for a luxury sedan like the E Class carrying my full family load! The M271 engine is definitely very frugal. I guess the first engine oil is thicker to allow for wearing in of the engine. It's now showing it's true potential with the change in engine oil.
  7. Looks like we're getting them, the very fuel economical E200K NGT! http://www.autocar.co.uk/FirstDrive_Summary.asp?RT=217461
  8. From previous experience in Hyundai, Nissan etc type of cars, the servicing have always been somewhat like: 1K service - breakin period 5K service - another free service (mineral oil) 10K service - tech advise top up for synthetic oil. Henceforth, every 10K synthetic oil change. But with E200K, it comes with Assyst Plus computer, and it seems it will recommend servicing based on driving profile and conditions of engine. Right now, it is recomending me to service only at around 20K, or another 13K to go now that my mileage is 7K. From other forums, they stated Assyst Plus will also prompt for service based on dates, i.e. before 1 yr interval is up if mileage is too low. Interesting... What's your experience for Conti cars like Mercs, BMWs etc?
  9. Just got my E200 K with default 16" rims Conti PremiumContact (225/55/R16). One shop offered to trade in my set of 4 with Avantgarde 17" Michelin Pilot Preceda for $1,900. Is it a good price? Worth the upgrade? Thanks.
  10. Wow! Looks like Kleeman K-Box + Pulley kit would make a stock E200K to near E320 specs. This is something serious... Local Benzline is offering this for around S$3,500. What do you guys (with experience on Kleeman's products) think? http://www.kleemann.dk/site/567EE3BB-6D0C-...t_name=newsitem Stock E200K Power : 163 bhp Torque : 240 Nm Kleeman K-Box + Pulley E200K Power: 210 bhp Torque : 300 Nm Stock E320 Power : 224 bhp Torque : 315 Nm
  11. Anyone else noticed the default Elegance wheels rather difficult to keep clean? I mean, when they nice and shiny, they're quite OK to look at, but with 13 small little holes and spikes around them, I'm finding them difficult to maintain... What might be a good and not too expensive option? Currently, my E is on the default 225/55/R16 Elegance. Thinking of going up modestly to 17" as I don't intend to change the shock and springs, and would not like too harsh a ride. I heard Brabus tends to be heavier. Is that true? I was looking at Brabus Monoblock IV. Suggestions? Where best to view Merc's Rims? Thanks.
