  1. Another day, another review with sgCarMart! And today, we have the 2020 Mercedes-Benz E200 Exclusive! One of the best sellers in the Mercedes-Benz range since its inception, the E-Class just keeps getting better and better, and being here in E200 guise, it still gives you the luxury and comfort you expect of a Mercedes-Benz. If you thought the front fascia of the new E200 looked good, check out the side three-quarter angle. I daresay it blends the sleek and smooth lines with just the right amount of aggression into one great package. With 194bhp and 320Nm of torque from an updated 2.0-litre turbocharged 4-cylinder mated with a nine-speed automatic transmission, I doubt many drivers are going to find a lack of power with the E200, especially when you're trying to overtake that inconsiderate driver hogging the first lane on the AYE. 0 - 100km/h comes and goes in 7.5 seconds. You're not going to break any speed records, but that is still brisk enough for Singapore traffic. The sight of this 3-point star bonnet emblem never really gets old, does it. I daresay it is that one factor that really adds a debonair touch to any Mercedes-Benz that has it. Like all newer Mercedes-Benz models, the E200 comes with two large screens at the front, one to display the car's information while the other is for infotainment purposes. I love how Mercedes-Benz is the only manufacturer who does this and it really gives a feel of airiness to the cabin. And not to mention, the lovely contours and leather patterns on the seats. And if you still aren't convinced how much legroom the E200 has in the back, here's some proof. The seat has been adjusted to Jon's position, and Jon is about 1.8m tall. Just look at the amount of space Julian has to lounge in the back seat, enough to seat cross legged even! Oh, and let's not forget the in-built sunshades on the windows. Those will be useful in our sunny weather. Electric tailgate as standard, wouldn't expect anything less on a Mercedes-Benz. 540 litres of boot space, more than able to fit the auntie trolley length wise. Cavernous, almost. 10 more litres than the BMW 5 Series, if you're wondering. There is even a pullout tray table that you can use to store documents, have a quick lunch, picnic, whatever you can think of to utilise that tray table. It can handle up to 10kg maximum load, so don't put anything that's too heavy on it. Want to find out all that Julian has to say about the 2020 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Saloon E200 Exclusive? Watch the video below to find out!
  2. I am buying one of these, new one from AD for my next 10 years usage, my annual driving is around 18k mileage, seldom do long distance drive. Reliability, how much do i need to set a budget for repair cost (not under servicing and maintenance) for these model typically for 10 years driving. What are the typical problem parts which need repairing? I am not sure how to choose, i am fine with all these car style and handling and electronics. Seeking advices from the many car gurus here, which car is a smart buy? considering cost and maintenance. Thank you.
  3. Hi all, Was thinking of extending my current car's COE in 2015. However was adviced that since I want to extend, should get something that is reliable and better value. I narrowed down to the GS300 and E200 for their brand's reliability and comfort. Hope to get some comments here on which is a better car in terms of reliability, parts availability and workshops' familiarity with it. For mercedes, I am only aware of the good old w124 200E, 5spd, that is still running strong in many workhorses. The 1996 to 2003 w210 onwards seems to be less popular. For Lexus, I am only aware of the ES300 which is FWD and is a larger Camry-like car in other markets. I am looking at GS300 for its RWD but other than that not familiar with its characteristics. Appreciate any comments on the subject. Thanks in advance.
  4. I am considering between these few cars for purchase in 2015. Mercedes-Benz E-Class Saloon BMW 5 Series Sedan Audi A6 Audi A5 Sportback Can bros here tell me which one you'll recommend and why? Important to me is : 1) driverability. ie, handling and power must be good. 2) as little maintenance problems as possible. I hate to go to the workshops to repair stuff, even if they are minor. Very time-wasting.
  5. http://www5.mercedes-benz.com/en/vehicles/...elligent-drive/ BMW 5 Series and Mercedes Benz E-Class has been fighting for the crown this few years in Singapore , But will this newly updated E-Class take over the 5 Series top selling crown? Sad thing is that Mercedes has abandoned the old school 4 unit looking headlights. SEDAN WAGON INTERIOR
  6. [extract] Locally, the Mercedes Benz marque has always been known or seen as a rather upmarket name. Many also perceive that this brand name attracts older buyers rather than younger ones and thus the nickname
  7. A Benz by a company called Binz. Ironic isn't it? Mercedes Benz has collaborated once again with coach builders Binz, the company from Lorch in Germany for their latest mid-sized limousine based on the new W212 E-Class sedan. Some of you may be unaware but Mercedes Benz always produced these 4 and 6 door mid-sized limousines since the W110 "fintail" series of the late 1960s, mostly with Binz. These long wheelbase E-Classes were produced mainly with 6 doors and 3 rows of seats, mainly for chauffeur driven services like those offered by limousine service companies, hotels, large companies for staff pick-up and also for funeral homes (dead people have relatives that need chauffeuring too). So the latest offering based on the W212 is actually eagerly awaited. Not by you and I, but by the people mentioned above and this time, the base E-Class has been stretched by 1.10meters to 5.98meters. The length is about the length of a Maybach, but you'd note that the car may be long, it is not as wide as one nor as overtly luxurious as one. Now the new Binz Benz has three rows of seats, in addition to the driver the car can still accommodate six passengers comfortably. And with six doors the passengers can be easily reach their seats. For a conference or for gossiping, the middle seats can rotate to face the people at the third row. The usual E-Class creature comforts are provided as well as the usual customization options (bulletproofing included) offered as the car is mainly a coachbuilt car. The seven seater luxury vehicle was given a full review by engineers (both from Mercedes Benz and Binz) to guarantee a high level of torsional rigidity especially after taking into account the extra length grafted to the chassis. As for poke, Binz is offering three models/engines choices of the Benz, all petrol powered. The 204bhp 1.8liter turbocharged 4 cylinder E250 BlueEfficiency, the 292bhp 3.5liter V6 E350 CGI and the 388bhp V8 5.4liter E500. Some may be doubting the capability of the E250 in lugging around the extra weight of the limousine. It has 310Nm of torque, which is at least 120Nm over the old W123 250 limousine made between 1977 and 1985 even though this version may be 200kgs heavier. - a W123 limousine
