Stupid workshop pumped grease into my wing mirrors and the grease is now slowly leaking out and creating a dried up sticky film on my car doors (obviously painted surfaces). Any suggestions on how to get rid of the grease (mama lemon, mineral oil, WD-40, citrus degreaser etc) which will not hurt the paintwork or clear coat? Or should I leave it to a professional? Thanks!

Like to share a bad experience I had. For the whole of last week, I detected my oil pressure indicator lighting up on a few of occasions. Since it was just a few day more before my next servicing and the indicator light didn't come on permanently, I didn't pay much attention to it since the engine temp was normal and the engine didn't behave abnomally. I just thought that that the oil level could be a bit lower. After knocking off from work on Fri, I checked the dipstick and found to my horror that the oil level was way below the minimum. I drove over to Stamford Tyres which is a few blocks away from my work place to top up the oil and check for any obvious leakage. To my horror, it took almost 3 litres of lube oil to get it up to an acceptable level which incidentally has a capacity is 3.6 litres. No evidence of leakage was also detected. After drving home, I made another check myself below my vehicle and found a very small puncture from the oil filter which was damaged by the tightening tool. On Sat, I drove to the workshop, Jxxxsxxxd and complained to them about the sloppy job that they did for my previous servicing. For this servicing, I had no choice but to follow them every step of the way to ensure there would not be another repeated incident and to make sure that they actually used the oil that I brought myself.

OK been reading much on bird dropping and how the damage occurs. The bird's waste is acidic. When dried, it will penetrate THROUGH THE CLEAR AND INTO THE COLOR BASECOAT! Swirl mark removers can correct this feebly, you need to get the surface refinished by a professional. Check the pictures below: http://www.autoint.com/tips/bird_dropping.html The paid acts like a sponge and keeps the acid in there. Come rain, the acid is reactivated and eats more of the body! Slowly the hole becomes bigger and bigger. The acid must be neutralized first before any work can be attempted. The funny thing is that dead insects are also acidic! Their dead bodies are acidic as well and destroy car paintwork! No wonder I remember a time while I was in my bros car driving up north and when we came to a smokey area the bugs were flying out ramming into his car. He was screaming in pain all the way!
