I think most of us deserve it then....... http://vulcanpost.com/7702/jack-ma-youre-still-poor-35-deserve/?fb_action_ids=10151998229752466&fb_action_types=og.likes You are poor because you have no ambition. Jack Ma: Before I founded Alibaba, I invited 24 friends to my house to discuss the business opportunity. After discussing for a full two hours, they were still confused — I have to say that I may not have put myself across in a clear manner manner then. The verdict: 23 out of the 24 people in the room told me to drop the idea, for a multitude of reasons, such as: ‘you do not know anything about the internet, and more prominently, you do not have the start-up capital for this’ etc etc. There was only one friend (who was working in a bank then) who told me, “If you want to do it, just try it. If things don’t work out the way you expected it to, you can always revert back to what you were doing before.” I pondered upon this for one night, and by the next morning, I decided I would do it anyway, even if all of the 24 people opposed the idea. When I first started Alibaba, I was immediately met with strong opposition from family and friends. Looking back, I realised that the biggest driving force for me then was not my confidence in the Internet and the potential it held, but more of this: ”No matter what one does, regardless of failure or success, the experience is a form of success in itself.” You have got to keep trying, and if it doesn’t work, you always can revert back to what you were doing before. As with this quote by T.E. Lawrence – “All men dream: but not equally. Those who dream in the dark recesses of the night awake in the day to find all was vanity. But the dreamers of day are dangerous men, for they may act their dreams with open eyes, and make it possible.” Jack Ma: People lose out in life because of these 4 reasons: Being myopic to opportunity Looking down on opportunities Lacking understanding Failing to act quickly enough You are poor, because you have no ambition. Ambition is living a life of great ideals; a magnificent goal in life that must be realised. In this world, there are things that are deemed unfathomable, but there is nothing in this world that cannot be done. The depth of one’s ambition determines the potential of one’ future.

Family of dead Ferrari driver sues insurers AXA Singapore had told Mr Ma's family that the crash was a "collision", not an accident. Tue, Aug 14, 2012; AsiaOne The wife and mother left behind by deceased Ferrari driver Ma Chi are taking the vehicle's insurers to court after the companies said they intend to withdraw coverage for the deadly crash. The Straits Times reported insurers AXA Singapore had told Mr Ma's family that was a "collision", not an accident. What this means in the insurance industry is that the driver was aware that his actions would cause an accident, thereby voiding the insurers' liability to make a payout. Mr Ma's family wants the High Court to reject this finding by suing the insurers. The lawsuit is believed to be the first such reported case in Singapore and is becoming a public interest issue as to how accidents are treated as "collisions", under which an insurer can reject liability. The accident in May left three, including Mr Ma, dead and two others injured. He had allegedly run a red light, crashed into a taxi, which then hit a motorcycle. According to The Straits Times, AXA first informed the Ma family of its decision last month. In the same month, the family had replied that they disagree with AXA's position. The company then responded by asking the family not to liquidate any of Mr Ma's assets, and said the case should be arbitrated. AXA also asked the family to supply a list of his other assets. Wendell Wong, lawyer for the Ma family, then filed a suit asking the High Court to rule that the crash was indeed an accident and not a "collision" as claimed by AXA. The family released a statement on Monday, "It is not an easy decision but the family feels that we need to seek the assistance of the Singapore courts as the insurer made the decision to repudiate liability first. "We just want to follow the Singapore laws as to what we need to do following the accident that affected people's lives." A pre-trial conference has been scheduled for next month. [email protected]

http://www.peacebella.com/2009/04/05/singapore-ns-man/ Quote: Singapore NS Man By Peace | April 5, 2009 It is useless and bad to talk about this, but it is a fact. I simply do not understand what MAN learned in NS or National Service. You go BMT, Basic Military Training for three months, and then what you do for the rest of the years? You built up your physical strength perhaps, but what about other aspect of life? Do you come home to become the commando hero and once out of school your learning stop? Outcome of National Service We saw in the newspaper, MAN abusing maid, NS MAN, in their uniform some more. What has MAN learn in their NS really! We saw in the news also, Man bully man, and poor NS man died in the process

Took delivery of my 600cc, 183kg, 98 BHP, bike last week! Really put a GRIN on my face during the weekend. , Fun factor is very good! So decided to ride yesterday to office. In the morning, at the tampines traffic light junction, i came from behind and stop in between a white altis on my right and a cab on my left. Was half a bike lenght in front of the altis. Altis inch forward to be side by side with me and closed his gap between us. He was so close I can rest on feet on his bumper. I did nothing to upset him. Dont think he exited with me along PIE. Light turn green and he sped off and cut into the centre lane. On the next traffic junction decided to stay behind. Was tempted to let him smell smoke but decided not to. Been riding since 1988. Honestly, not much changes when it comes to the safety of bikers from other road users. I drive too, but when i ride, it's very different, when a roaduser is filtering right, chances are they will let me go first if i am driving but if I am riding, most of the time, they can see me coming, but they just go ahead. Hope I am wrong but there are alot of other incidents from vans to bus to cars and trucks. I am neutral, but let me know, why are there drivers whom feel that bikers deserve less respect?
