Watch as cyclist gets instant regret after jumping on a moving car!
Fadevfast posted a blog entry in MyAutoBlog
Do you enjoy seeing entitled cyclists regret their actions? If so, watch the latest footage of that cyclist who hopped on a car’s bonnet, fresh off the press! What happened? On 2nd June 2023 at East Coast Road, cyclist Nicolette Tan Shi-En, 31 had a fight with driver Elaine Michele Ow, 49. The situation went viral as a short clip was circulating from an outside POV (point of view) showing the cyclist hopping onto the car’s bonnet. But here’s the real POV up close and personal! More personal than I would like to be honest but oh well, the lengths we go to entertain you guys. The video starts with the cyclist saying something about how the car was not supposed to overtake her. I can’t quite hear her words clearly so if one of you can comment what she’s saying that would be great. I would also like to say that you just know she’s a Karen just from her voice and body language. Of course, that's a generalisation but I am right for this occasion. The cyclist then goes off behind the camera and hits the car, audible through a loud bump picked up by the camera. Also mildly audible is her complaining, as well as her continuing to hit the car. This is also evidenced by the driver shouting “Don’t do that! Don’t ****ing touch my car!” Kudos to her for keeping somewhat cool up to that point. Ms Tan (the cyclist/Karen) also decided to call the police, before coming back into view to block the driver, even after the light turns green. The honking of other cars behind can be heard as her mouth gapes, looking as if deeply offended that the drivers behind were not alright with being held up. At this point, Ms Ow (the driver) has had enough and decided to drive off. Nicolette decides it is a good idea to keep blocking a moving car, and asks “What are you doing?” This picture sums up my thoughts: Ms Tan also decides it is a good idea to hop on the bonnet while the car is moving. She clearly had not thought this through as when the car kept moving, she exclaimed “NOOOO!” and “WHAT'S YOUR PROBLEM?”. While repeatedly slamming the windshield, no less. Because continuing to damage the person’s car, that you voluntarily jumped on, is a good way to convince them to stop moving. Elaine pulls into the lobby of a mall, where Nicolette can finally get off. However, she continues to hold on to a broken windshield wiper that she broke while holding on to the car. The self-endangerment is astounding. The video ends with people off camera telling Elaine not to drive “like that”, as if she can do something about the person still holding on to the car. According to the Facebook post, Elaine the driver was charged with “rashly endangering the personal safety of others for driving forward while someone lay on the bonnet of her vehicle.” Nicolette the cyclist was charged with “rashly endangering the personal safety of others by laying on the bonnet of a vehicle while in the middle of the road and obstructing the driver’s view.” She also faces another charge of obstructing others in a public way by blocking a vehicle from moving forward. Both women were offered bail at $10,000, and both women stated they intend to seek lawyers. If convicted of rashly endangering the personal safety of others, they each face a jail term of up to six months, a fine of up to S$2,500, or both. Meanwhile, the penalty for the charge of obstructing others in a public way is a fine of up to S$1,000. Online chatter Netizens were frustrated at cyclists taking up road space also exhibiting such behaviour, as this is not the first time such a situation has occurred. Plenty of complaints were given to this cyclist and cyclists in general. Others praised the driver for standing up for herself and being somewhat composed throughout the situation. ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. Instant karma for cyclist who tries to cut off cars during a red light
Fadevfast posted a blog entry in MyAutoBlog
TL;DR - Cyclist in Clementi thinks he's the Boss of the road, gets knocked down by SUV during green light for vehicles. Netizens unanimously laugh. While I’m not a driver, I understand how annoying cyclists can be. I like running, and in my usual route there’s a narrow stretch where cyclists are supposed to dismount. There is a large sign at both ends of this stretch telling them to dismount. Something like this. But they don’t, so my momentum dies because some fellow can’t obey rules and my run becomes more miserable than it already is. As a result of this, seeing this video on Facebook today pleased me greatly. What happened? On 8 April, 10 A.M, a cyclist at Clementi forgot his place on the road and tried to pull a very stupid manoeuvre. The cyclist, who I presume is named Clementi with the entitled way he was riding, successfully cut off the car on his lane during a green light for vehicles. However, he was less successful in the opposing lane, as a Suzuki Vitara was unable to stop in time and sent this cyclist flying. Let’s watch that again, it was pretty funny. A pedestrian crossing was also right beside the cyclist when he attempted this, so this accident could have been easily avoided if he had some patience and courtesy. But now he suffers some injuries, physically and to his ego. Hopefully the latter scars, for everyone’s sake. Online chatter The internet united once again for a laugh, and made more jokes about the incident to fuel the joy. Others noted how satisfying the incident was and how they can’t stop watching the video. ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. We can all learn from this runner on how to be unbothered by the chaos and negativity in life, to carry on and remain focused in the midst of uncertainty and adversity. I make it sound like a car almost crashed into her but hey, there was certainly a crash. What happened? On 2nd May 2023 at Woodlands Ring Road, a cyclist crashed into a motorcyclist turning right to enter a car park. Bro was zooming. If he did brake he might want to check the brakes work properly. There was no sign of jerking and it was a smooth ride to hit the motorcyclist. This led to the cyclist coming off his bike and tumbling onto the motorcyclist, who was knocked down in turn. Both parties were able to get up, although there is no audio to determine what words they exchanged afterwards. However, the star of the show to me was the runner when all this unfolded just to her right. The camera footage is too blurry to tell if she turned her head or not but I assume a bike and motorcycle knocking into each other would make a fair bit of noise. However, she remained unfazed, and continued running at a steady rhythm. If she was wearing an earpiece I want to know what model because the noise cancelling on that must be insane. Online chatter People noted the runner continuing on her way, with some wondering if she knew what was going on at all. Others blamed the cyclist for not stopping and allowing the motorcycle to enter the carpark. ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. Ah bengs are just YPs who never grew out of it because they peaked in their youth and were never more loved or relevant since then. Therefore they continue to act like they did when they were young in order to cling to their scraps of “respect” and “adoration”. Because how else can you be as free and petty as this guy? What happened? A camvehicle had the misfortune of encountering an Ah Beng PAB rider on Yuan Ching Road last Sunday, 22 April. We can see in the footage that the Ah Beng was going fairly slow on the road. The camvehicle lightly honked twice while at a decent distance from the PAB. The camvehicle overtook the PAB before stopping for a bus. And that’s the last we see of the PAB. SIKE! The PAB Ah Beng shows up once more after two minutes! The camvehicle stops for 30 seconds in front of a red light and the Ah Beng uses his PAB to block the camvehicle. The Ah Beng gets off and tells the camvehicle to come out, as well as a bunch of stuff in Chinese to taunt the driver. After a while (for some reason not immediately) the driver calls the police in front of the Ah Beng who remains undeterred. Ah Beng gives the car’s front bumper a mild shove, at which point the driver has enough and continues on his way, calling the Ah Beng a CB to the police (yes he was still on call). So bro was fast enough to chase a vehicle down for 2 minutes, but couldn't go fast enough to not be a hindrance to traffic? This entire thing could've been prevented if he was just pedalling faster or NOT ON THE ROAD AT ALL. I must say I find Ah Beng’s determination impressive, if only for the wrong reasons. Who knows what he could’ve been if he used his resilience in his career and not being a pest? Online chatter Ah Beng’s behaviour does not help the already poor reputation of PAB riders. Or cyclists on the road. Others once again plead with LTA and the government to take action against such riders. ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. TL;DR - Errant cyclist tailgating another cyclist falls after accidental collision. This epic fall shows exactly why cyclists and motorists do not get along. Humpty Dumpty moment. Watch this 30-second video to see how the cyclist collided into another fellow cyclist along Beach Road. What happened? A group of cyclists were cycling along Beach Road when one of them came into collision with the cyclist in front, resulting in him falling over on the road. As seen in the clip, the cyclist did not take any safety precautions as well, such as by wearing a helmet, nor does he have any front/rear lights on his bicycle. This lack of safety measures makes the cyclist a road hazard, putting not just his life at risk, but also for other motorists and road users. Online Chatter This is why cyclists are better off on walkways. This is also another opportunity for motorists to call cyclists on the road, road pests. Takeaway To ensure road safety for themselves and other road users, cyclists are advised to wear the appropriate riding gears, enhance visibility by installing bicycle lights, and adopt safe cycling behaviors and habits, such as keeping a safe distance and riding in an orderly manner. ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. https://mothership.sg/2021/10/road-cyclists-new-rules-jan-2022/ Those cycling on Singapore roads will face stricter rules and regulations next year, including increased composition fines for errant cyclists. The Ministry of Transport (MOT) has accepted the Active Mobility Advisory Panel's (AMAP) fifth review of the rules for road cyclists, which was submitted on Oct. 1. The review involved studying practices overseas, conducting public consultations and focus groups, as well as a survey. MOT stated in an Oct. 20 media release that the review was "timely" in light of the increased popularity of cycling recently, which has led to more interactions between cyclists and other road users, and in turn sparked concerns about road safety. According to Melvin Yong, the Executive Secretary of the National Transport Workers' Union, there were 572 traffic accidents involving bicycles in 2020, an increase of about 25 per cent from 459 accidents in 2019. Limiting cycling groups Currently, cyclists are allowed to ride in twos on the road, provided that they are not riding on a single-lane road, or in a bus lane during bus lane hours. AMAP has recommended that this should be allowed to continue, for cyclists' safety and visibility, which the government has agreed to. The government has also decided to adopt one of AMAP's recommendations to limit cycling groups to a maximum length of five bicycles due to space constraints on Singapore's roads. This means a maximum of five cyclists if the group is riding single-file, or a maximum of 10 cyclists if the group is riding two abreast. This rule will be imposed from Jan. 1, 2022. The government has also agreed with AMAP's list of best practices for cycling groups. While these are not mandatory, they should be followed where possible: Cycling groups to keep a safe distance of approximately two lamp posts (or around 30m) between groups, and Motorists to have a minimum distance of 1.5m when passing cyclists on roads. Increased fines Enforcement action will also be stepped up against errant cyclists. From Jan. 1, 2022, the composition fines for such individuals will be raised from S$75 to S$150. For more serious cases, the cyclist may be charged in court and face a fine of up to S$1,000 and/or a jail term of up to three months for the first offence. For a second or subsequent offence, the cyclist may face a fine of up to S$2,000 and/or a jail term of up to six months. Not the time to introduce licensing of cyclists The AMAP also studied whether whether cyclists should be made to register their bicycles and get licenses to ride on the road — a topic that has been raised over the years, and was brought up by former Temasek CEO Ho Ching in April. AMAP said in its review that there is "little evidence" overseas that such efforts are effective in deterring errant cycling and improving road safety, and described it as a "resource-intensive regime". Additionally, these measures could also hinder the take-up of cycling in Singapore, and would "disproportionately affect more vulnerable groups of cyclists, including seniors and individuals who rely on bicycles for work and commute". According to the media release, the government concurs that licensing and registration of cyclists and bicycles respectively "should not be introduced at this juncture". Reiterating AMAP's statement, it said: "Besides affecting the majority of law-abiding cyclists, there is little evidence from overseas case studies and Singapore’s past experience that licensing of cyclists is effective in promoting road safety or deterring errant cyclists." It also acknowledged AMAP’s recommendation that all cyclists should be strongly encouraged to purchase third-party liability insurance to protect themselves from potential financial liabilities. The government stated that it will continue working with insurance providers and cycling groups to promote the take up of third-party liability insurance. In the meantime, to promote road safety and raise awareness of the new rules and guidelines, the government will continue to partner stakeholders in its public education and outreach efforts.

@inlinesix, start training liao bo? https://www.straitstimes.com/sport/cycling-220-registration-fee-for-amateur-races-at-tour-de-france-singapore-event-draws-mixed-reaction Cycling: $220 registration fee for amateur races at Tour de France Singapore event draws mixed reaction SINGAPORE - The registration fees for the amateur races in the inaugural Tour de France Prudential Singapore Criterium on Oct 29-30 drew mixed reactions from the local cycling community after they were announced on Thursday. Some thought the $220 price tag for the men's seniors and masters categories in the Amateur Criterium on Oct 30 was too steep while others felt the price, which includes a two-day event pass worth $118 and an event jersey valued at $180, was reasonable. Registration for both categories and other community rides is open. Riders in the seniors category (aged 19 to 34) take part in a 24.8km race, while those in the masters category (aged 35 and above) will participate in an 18.6km race. A local cycling enthusiast, who did not wish to be named, was initially thrilled about the event but is now turned off by the price and will not be attending. The 43-year-old, who has been cycling for 30 years, called the price absurd, noting that local races typically cost between $60 and $100. His last race was the SportsHub Sports Series: Cycle For Hope 2022 in August that cost $80. He said: "To pay $220 for this event, and at a time when the whole world is going through inflation and financial uncertainties, is a little hard for me to digest. It's too high for a one-day race which is less than 50km. "I was very excited when I heard the race was coming to Singapore with the Tour de France riders. But when I heard of the entry fee, I'm no longer excited but disappointed." In contrast, avid cyclist Lukman Nurhakim Noordin has already signed up for the masters race and is eager to try the route for the first time. While he thinks the price is reasonable after taking into account the two-day pass, he understands that others, especially younger cyclists who are not financially independent, might be unable to afford it. The 42-year-old teacher said: "There might be racers who are only interested in racing and not watching the event, who will feel that it's still on the steep side. "For passionate racers like me, this opportunity to race is hard to pass up and we are willing to pay the premium for it. "Racing opportunities in Singapore are hard to come by. When there is a race, riders will sign up for it just because of their passion for road racing. The fact that it will be held in the city centre is a chance not to be missed." He is also looking forward to using his pass to catch world-class cyclists, like 2022 Tour de France winner Jonas Vingegaard, up close. He added: "We watch them on TV, but being able to see them zoom past you at high speed is another kind of thrill." The races, along with other community rides, will take place along a 3.1km route in the city that passes landmarks like the Merlion and Esplanade before ending at The Float @ Marina Bay. This is the first Tour de France criterium to be held in South-east Asia after similar events in China and Japan. The Singapore edition will feature 32 riders from eight professional cycling teams, including British Olympic silver medallist Mark Cavendish, who holds the joint record of 34 for most Tour de France stage wins. Avid cyclists can also be part of the event by joining other community rides such as the Pruride Seeker's Society which includes a cycling clinic and the Absolute Cycle Race, where participants will attempt to clock the furthest distance in 10 minutes on a stationary bike. With so many videos of serious car accidents circulating around lately, you would think that drivers will learn to pay more attention on the road. Well apparently not for this reckless BMW driver who obviously has no concern about safe driving. Watch the 31-seconds video here and try not to rage: What happened? According to the caption of the video, the incident happened at Sembawang Road at around midnight last night. In the video, we can clearly see that the light has turned red at the 0:11 mark. Drivers and riders that can be seen in the video had either stopped or were slowing down when approaching the traffic junction. With the green light in pedestrian’s favour, the cyclist started to make his/her way across the road as would any of us. Just when the cyclist made about a quarter of his/her way across the road, SEVEN (7) WHOLE SECONDS after the lights had turned red, a BMW can be seen speeding on the middle lane into the frame of the video with NO ATTEMPT to slow down or stop. What the hell? Tragedy Strikes The speeding car smashed into the unsuspecting cyclist before coming to an abrupt halt. The high-speed impact sent the poor cyclist flying from his bicycle and onto the cold hard floor nearby. The video then ends with a nearby motorcyclist approaching the scene seemingly to render assistance. Online Chatter My exact sentiments! Who the hell approved this f*****’s license?! Clearly you are not suitable to be driving if you are BLIND AF. Umm, okay… I, for one, believe that there is no reason ever good enough to have such blatant disregard to road safety at the (possible) expense of innocent lives. If you want to die, don’t drag others down with you la please. Wtf, where the sauce bro?? I have seen my fair share of NON-BMW and MERC who were behaving recklessly on the road as well. It’s not the car, it’s the driver la. Last but Not Least Like what the comments above say, road users PLEASE, for the love of God, exercise caution whenever you are on the road – especially the helpless pedestrians. The green light may be in your favour but some people, like this BMW driver, have issues distinguishing between green and red or may possibly be distracted. Let’s all pray for the cyclist and that the reckless driver gets his/her due punishment! Stay safe and be safe everyone! ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. Join us today!

Cyclists are a menace on our roads and will continue to be one. Nuff said. It is almost impossible for cyclists and motorists to co-exist and share our roads safely. Here's why: What Happened? 3 Clowns clad in their spandex cycling attire decided to tailgate and draft behind a freight truck to reduce their drag and achieve enhanced aerodynamics on West Coast Highway. Yes, you read that right - BEHIND A FREIGHT TRUCK. And not that it changes anything, but the three cyclists were cycling in lane two instead of keeping to the left-most lane LOL. To be frank, it doesn't seem very dangerous...until the truck has to perform an e-brake for some reason. That's when matters will take a turn for the worse. There is an exceptionally high chance that the cyclists would rear-end the truck, either because of: 1) their inability to react in time due to the mere 1-second distance away from the truck; and/or 2) the bicycle's braking capability. Netizens' Comments Wear helmet already really cannot think one. #Truestory Not surprised if they do this LOL. Couldn't agree more! ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news, and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. Join us today!

A cyclist entering the CTE tunnel suddenly falls off his bike and onto the path of oncoming vehicles but manages to avoid causing an accident. Is this the work of a higher presence in the universe? 😱 A short clip of a cyclist cycling in the opposite direction inside a CTE tunnel shows exactly why there should be stricter enforcement of cycling restrictions and regulations. The clip starts with the camcar cruising down the tunnel, when the car in front of him suddenly brakes. It is then revealed that there is a cyclist in the tunnel going in the opposite direction. To avoid being hit by the car in front of the camcar, the cyclist suddenly stops as well, which causes him to accidentally fall off his bike. This gives the camcar a shock as he stops just in time to avoid hitting the cyclist, who immediately gets up and walks off. According to the driver, he claims that after this incident, he spots a second cyclist further down trying to enter the same tunnel as well. Are cyclists allowed on expressways and tunnels? While it is no surprise that cyclists are allowed to ride on the roads (given that they follow the rules and the proper code of conduct while doing so), it is often unclear if they are allowed to ride in tunnels and expressways. According to the Road Traffic Act - Road Traffic (Expressway Traffic) Rules, any bicycle that is equipped with an electric motor and may be propelled by human power or by the electric motor with which it is equipped, or by both, is not allowed in road tunnels and expressway tunnels. Additionally, according to the Road Traffic Act - Road Traffic (Expressways - Excluded Vehicles) Rules, users riding bicycles, tricycles, or trishaws are not allowed on expressways, including the KPE, MCE, and CTE tunnels. This is because the expressways are meant for other motorists travelling at higher speeds, and cycling on these roads may cause fatal traffic accidents as drivers attempt to avoid hitting them. Cycling on expressways is considered an offence in Singapore and can result in a fine of up to $2,000 or a jail term of up to 6 months, or both. So, the short answer to that question is no, cyclists are not allowed on expressways and tunnels. Current cycling regulations in Singapore With the Active Mobility Act (AMA) in place since 2018, it dictates a set of rules and code of conduct to enable safer sharing of public paths among various users. The active mobility devices governed under this act includes bicycles, power-assisted bicycles (PAB), motorised and non-motorised personal mobility devices (PMDs) and personal mobility aids (PMAs). On top of riding on the roads, cyclists can also use various cycling paths, park connectors and footpaths around Singapore to get to their destination. The full list of cycling rules and regulations while riding on the road can be found in a previous post: Netizens' reactions Can you imagine the dire consequences if the drivers hadn't stopped in time? 😱 More like the cyclist is lucky instead of the driver. While there are laws and regulations in place to ensure that cyclists don't enter these dangerous areas, there should be stricter enforcement of these rules considering how there has been a rise in cases of cyclists on the expressways. Otherwise, when accidents occur, the game of blame between cyclists and drivers will never end. -------- Thinking of selling your car? sgCarMart Quotz guarantees the highest selling price for your car. It doesn't matter if you are a motorist, a pedestrian or a cyclist - road safety is of paramount importance and should be instilled in us from a young age. NGL, I felt very heartened after witnessing what this father did for his family to ensure their safety: What Happened? A father stopped his bicycle to "block" oncoming traffic so that his family could cross the zebra crossing safely. However, the cam car driver he blocked wasn't too happy with his thoughtful act towards his family and decided to upload this video to social media and publicise his act. A Responsible Parent That's what I think. I would say it is entirely fair for the father to do what he did to safeguard his family's safety. Furthermore, that's a zebra-crossing. So regardless, any car would have to stop for the family to cross the zebra crossing. However, some netizens are saying that the cyclist ought to have thanked the cam car driver for making him wait at the zebra-crossing: Here's my take - whether or not, the father decides to gesture a "thank you" to the cam car driver is his prerogative. Netizens' Comments Are we reading too much into it?😩 Nuff said. 👏👏👏 ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news, and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. An incident at Mandai road resulted from a cyclist failing to keep to his prescribed lane, and then managing to rear-end a taxi and almost causing a chain of events that could have ended badly for the cyclist. Watch the video for yourself below 295074781_496748258921669_9009094495260158541_n.mp4 The cam car behind him had to jam brake at the very last minute, which resulted in the cement truck having to stop in time to avoid colliding into the camcar. The significant inconvenience that this cyclist caused simply because he was too irresponsible to abide by road regulations is ridiculous. If i were held up by this buffoon i’ll certainly be very angry. It does seem like he doesn’t value his own life as well, given that not only did this inconvenience other road users, but definitely put himself in a lot of danger as well. Netizen Comments Netizens chime in with their own take of the situation as well, Personally, if I were held up by this cyclist, I’ll probably be royally pissed as well. ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. For years... the long and painful war against the tyrants of the roads... the cyclists... has dragged on and on. Eh, we tahan a lot already OK! Repeating instances like these make it so hard to like them, don't you agree? At a bustling junction at Potong Pasir (segueing into Serangoon Road), in the early evening when road users were making their way home after a tiring day at work--- a dashcam video was captured of this errant cyclist! Such misdeeds put onto record, laid out for the world to see. Take a look at the video, if you can bear the oncoming rage you will feel: 293790065_1041116233131622_7034219696884844264_n.mp4 Damn. If you didn't catch that, the lady cyclist basically: 1) Almost rammed into a taxi Here is a zoom in: 2) Then, continued cycling on her merry way, disregarding the flow of traffic, 3) Causing the owner of the dashcam to have to brake abruptly Goodness gracious me. Fuiyoh! All her actions speak volumes about her mindset and values. We don't like to nag so we will just let our favourite Doge meme express how we feel: Doesn't it just make you seethe? The utter callousness of the cyclist? I think I shook my head so much my neck now has a cramp. The court of public opinion As one might expect, the online commentators ripped into the cyclist viciously. No mercy given here, no! Top Fan No.1 took on a chiding and reprimanding tone. While we agree that not all cyclists act like her... It seems funny that 99.5% percent always seem to exhibit the same traits of road-hogging and dangerous riding that causes inconvenience to others. But ahem, we digress. Top Fan No.2 delivers his devastating, and well-put, critique too. Haha! That sure is one way of solving the problem. Show her the might of the car horn, brother! Lastly, saving the best for the last: Great question, Top Fan No.3 (Wow! What's with the sudden influx of Top fans? This article must have generated the ire of many) Cease and desist, please We're not saying some people should have their bikes away... We are totally saying they should have their bikes taken away. But is it so hard to practice good road safety and habits? One of the first fundamentals of driving we were taught was to always be aware of your surroundings. (PSA to cyclists: please don't do what she did. Just know, if you ever pull the same stunt she did, inside the cars they will be cursing you soundly.) What if a car had slammed into her? What if she had crashed into a vehicle she was not aware of? Hospital bills, workshop fees. The worst part for the others involved? It wouldn't have been their fault. An accident that could have been easily avoided. Don't play play, life is precious. Good road habits may very well be the difference in whether you make it home alive and in one piece... or in a blue SPF tent. As always, stay safe, readers! ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. Join us today!

It is common basic knowledge that motorists are required to give way to pedestrians or cyclists at a pedestrian crossing. Furthermore, it is quite effortless for the motorist to stop, look left and right and check clear before proceeding. However, some drivers seem to have the neck for driving like an @ssho13. Just like this BMW driver: What Happened? The accident above occurred at a junction along Bukit Batok West Ave 5, involving a BMW 318 and a cyclist. The impatient BMW 318 driver 'chiongs' through a discretionary left turn despite a pedestrian and cyclist crossing the road. Within seconds, the BMW sent the cyclist flying in mid-air before crash landing head-first on the ground. Despite being aware of the collision, the BMW did not stop to render any assistance to the cyclist involved. Instead, the BMW driver floored the accelerator and left the accident scene immediately. To be honest, I am not surprised that the BMW driver has the neck for driving like an @ssho13. He is an @ssho13 for committing the hit and run. Here's wishing the cyclist involved a speedy recovery! Netizens' Comments It does not matter if the cyclist alighted and pushed his bicycle across the pedestrian crossing. As drivers, we must do our due diligence and check for traffic before proceeding. In other words, hopefully, cyclists will learn to keep a lookout and use the road in consideration of other road users. ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news, and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. Footage was caught of a naked man riding a motorcycle AFTER the brutal murder of a 26-year-old woman as well as her three-month-old newborn kid in Johor Baru. Watch the video for yourself below. 292216697_1183843312466521_3913211305807153949_n.mp4 As if this story couldn’t get any crazier, a meat cleaver was apparently seized from the suspect alongside the motorcycle caught in the video. Putting two and two together, it could be possible that the meat cleaver might have been used as the murder weapon. There is no way that this man could be mentally sane. Confirm “kee siao.” But wait, there’s more! The Johor Baru Selatan police chief was reported to have claimed to arrest the suspect just two hours after the murders were reported in the house. Under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder, it states that “Whoever commits murder shall be punished with death, or imprisonment for life, and shall also be liable to fine.” Looks like this guy does not have a bright future ahead of him. The mandatory death penalty in Malaysia has been set to be abolished, though it can still be dished out in cases that the judge deems necessary. Though if the man was determined to have ‘unsoundness of mind’, aka. the insanity defence through medical reports and opinions from medical experts, it might be able to be used as a defence in court. Under Section 84 of the penal code in Malaysia, "Nothing is an offence which is done by a person who, at the time of doing it, by reason of unsoundness of mind, is incapable of knowing the nature of the act, or that he is doing what is either wrong or contrary to law." Though the insanity defence can be used in court, it might not be easy to succeed in the defence either. Netizen Comments Netizens have expressed their disbelief at the situation presented. I wouldn’t know what to do with myself if I saw this at the road either. ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. Errant cyclists on the road are enough to infuriate drivers. However, what's worse is meeting an oblivious errant cyclist. And I guarantee they will trigger you, just like what happened in this video: What Happened? While driving along Dunearn Road towards the City, the cam car driver encountered a cyclist clad in a pink shirt and a black backpack cycling in the middle of the road. Obviously, the cyclist woke up that day and chose not to give a damn by deciding to cycle in the dead of night without any lights or helmet. From a distance, the cam car driver started to flash his high beam at the cyclist to warn other motorists of his presence while also signalling to the cyclist that he (the cam car) was approaching. As the cam car driver closed up behind the cyclist, he started spamming his horn at the cyclist to show his displeasure towards the cyclist. The cyclist responded with some hand gestures to the cam car driver, likely indicating to the driver to go ahead and use lane 1 to overtake him. It was at this point that the cam car driver had enough and decided to give the cyclist a piece of his mind: In all honesty, the cyclist deserved to be reprimanded for his actions. If he chose to cycle on the road in the dead of night, the least he could do was to wear a helmet and attach some lights to the bicycle. And also, lose the earpiece - You can't hear shit if you have music blasting into your ears. Netizens' Comments You also missed out on the requirement of wearing a helmet and having lights to the front and rear while cycling on the road at night. Cam car driver definitely seized the opportunity and gave the cyclist a free session with no holds barred! Impatient and frustrated driver meets ‘guai-lan’ cyclist along Sengkang
thatJDMahboy posted a blog entry in MyAutoBlog
Let’s be frank. Cyclists have made a notorious reputation for themselves over the years. They are known to be among the top cause of annoyance to motorists, which easily frustrates motorists when they encounter an errant cyclist on the road. Watch this video to find out what happens when an impatient driver meets a ‘guai-lan’ cyclist: What Happened? While travelling on a two-carriageway road, an SBS bus on the left lane switched on his right signal indicator after realising that a heavy vehicle was obstructing the lane. Just then, an errant Power-Assisted Bicycle (PAB) user who was lane-splitting in the middle of both lanes observed the SBS bus’ intention and proceeded to make an abrupt lane change without checking his side mirrors and his blind spot. The cyclist’s abrupt lane change alarmed the cam car driver, who was travelling in the right lane then. As a result, the cam car driver sounded his honk at the cyclist to alert him of his reckless manoeuvre. In response, the PAB cyclist threw an angry hand gesture to demonstrate his displeasure towards the cam car driver for honking at him. Following that, the cyclist began performing brake checks on the cam car driver and began riding at a slow pace. (Yes, I didn’t know brake checks were a thing for cyclists too) Not to anyone’s surprise, the cam car driver got impatient and frustrated at the PAB cyclist and began sounding long, consistent honks at the cyclist. Now, you would think that the cyclist has used up all the tricks up his sleeve after the angry hand gesture, the brake checks and riding at an extremely slow pace. Well, you are absolutely wrong! What he does next will make you marvel at how ‘guai-lan’ he can be — the PAB cyclist proceeded to disembark from his bike! Upon disembarkation, he kicks his bike stand and leaves his bike in the middle of the road with his arms folded before taunting the cam car driver to get past his man-made obstruction. Shortly after performing his ‘winning’ move and posing for the camera, he throws another angry hand gesture at the cam car driver before zipping away on his PAB. Latest Update Additional clips of him behaving like a road menace and committing multiple offences have surfaced on the internet. Watch it here: Netizens’ Comments Wise words from a concerned netizen. Seems like this PAB cyclist have developed quite a reputation in the Sengkang/Punggol area🤔 This fella here wants to fight fire with fire😱 ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news, and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. Errant cyclists are a common sight these days. Every other day, user-submitted videos of errant cyclists or cyclists being involved in an accident never fail to be published on various online channels. Watch this video of an errant cyclist that was involved in an accident, which ends in a lowkey hilarious manner: What Happened? An errant cyclist blatantly disregards a stop signage and stop-line marking and continues to attempt to make a right turn. After looking left and right to check for oncoming traffic, he somehow fails to spot an oncoming Toyota Corolla approaching him. He then cycles into the path of the Toyota Corolla and gets hit by it. A Precious Bicycle I can tell the cyclist loves his bicycle a lot. So much so that he clings onto it even after getting hit by the Toyota. And the result of it is kinda hilarious - the bicycle bounces off the hood of the Toyota and lands on his head. NGL, this accident could have been worse for the errant cyclist. Today he may have suffered some bruises and cuts from this accident, but he may not be this lucky all the time. A Common Occurrence It seems as though cyclists just don't give a damn about their safety. Similarly, a colleague of mine also encountered an errant cyclist yesterday (30 Mar): Needless to say, this near-miss incident was enough for him to have almost "shit in his pants". Netizens' Comments Even his bicycle wants to 'knock' some sense into him. Its getting more and more ridiculous. Exactly why you shouldn't do things in a half-f@ck manner! ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news, and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. I don't even know which is worse - the fact that the cyclist caused the collision or that he didn't check on the rider after the crash. In a video posted on Facebook just yesterday (29 March), an accident along Ang Mo Kio Avenue 3 shocks several netizens. In the video, the cam car driver merges towards the middle lane in the darkness of the morning hours. Despite it being a little after 6 in the morning, the dark roads were illuminated by streetlights and the cam car's headlights. Just up ahead, a cyclist on the outermost lane notices the cam car's presence and starts switching lanes. With his bicycle dancing between lanes, it became clear that the cyclist had recklessly switched lanes without checking. At this moment, a motorcycle travelling in the same lane came into view. Due to the cyclist's sudden lane change, the rider did not have enough time to react accordingly, resulting in a rather nasty collision. The impact threw the cyclist off his bicycle while the heavy motorcycle flew across the road. With his path blocked, the cam car slows down and stops beside the cyclist, who immediately stands up with his helmet and bag still intact and attached to his body. After dusting himself off, he gingerly walks to his mauled ride. While attempting to pick it up, the cyclist blocks the path of an oncoming white van. On the other hand, after being thrown off his own vehicle, the rider sits up as he surveys his surroundings. While it is not clear if there were any serious injuries, the rider remains seated for the rest of the video. Netizens' reactions The video shocked many netizens, most of whom could not believe that the cyclist did not check on the potentially injured rider after causing the reckless accident. Yes, there is a difference between making a little mistake and causing an accident that might kill you and others. Note: This comment was in response to the post's description, which reads "Careless cyclist did not check clear, filtered towards first lane and got hit by motorcyclist. Accident happened at Ang Mo Kio Ave 3 (Beside Gain City) at 0640H on 29 Mar 2022. Speedy recovery to both parties.". Even if the cyclist was in a state of shock, it is just disappointing to see this behaviour from him. Where did all of his compassion and empathy go? Although I don't subscribe to the feud between drivers and cyclists, I have to admit that this incident reflects the inadequacy of cyclists to ride safely on the road. Having strict regulations is not the answer when cyclists defy the rules that lay the foundation for a safe and peaceful drive. ======== Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news, and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. I understand that not all drivers and cyclists get along, but isn't it better to give way than to endanger the lives of others when you're in the wrong? https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=271869238455173 On Saturday (March 12) night, two or three cyclists and the cam car driver were cruising down a road in Yishun when they encountered the reckless driver. As the group went by a petrol station, they spotted the Toyota Altis turning out. After failing to give way to the cyclists and the cam car, the Altis immediately brakes after it turns out. This scares the cyclists, who swerved to avoid a head-on collision with the thoughtless driver. They could also be heard yelling 'Oi' at the driver in the video, which provoked him even more. Continuing on their route, both cyclists and the cam car sped up and overtook the car. The cyclists then looked back to check on the location of the raging driver as they hurriedly peddled. This upsets the Altis driver, who immediately sped up and recklessly merged into their lane - just to step on his brakes. His pride must have been seriously hurt as the cyclists deftly avoided his attacks, resulting in a second attempt to block them (and almost running one of the cyclists over). The way the driver tries to get the cyclists reminds me of a classic Tom and Jerry scene. The video ends with the Toyota Altis turning left and exiting the road. Netizens' reactions Netizens were divided on placing blame after watching this video. Some condoned the driver's reckless actions while others condoned the way the cyclists were cycling on the road. While watching the video, it is possible that the cyclists provoked the driver by shouting at him for not giving way to them. Yep, I think the blame is 50/50. While the cyclists were quite rude (and took up the entire lane after overtaking), the driver endangered the lives of everybody when he played his petty games. At the end of the day, the moral of the story is that no matter whether we are drivers or cyclists, we all need to show some compassion and be gracious while on the road. ======== Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news, and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. One can never take road safety for granted. There is a purpose behind inculcating a sense of road safety in us from a young age. Watch what happens when you take a chance and throw your road safety knowledge and guidelines out the window: What Happened? The accident occurred along Pasir Ris Drive 1, involving a taxi and a cyclist. A cyclist was cycling across a pedestrian crossing when a taxi performing a discretionary left turn started to accelerate as he approached the junction. Due to the lack of lights and reflectors and the dark coloured clothing donned by the cyclist, the cyclist's road presence was hardly noticeable. The taxi driver likely did not spot the cyclist while he was cycling across the pedestrian crossing. As a result, the taxi driver rammed into the cyclist rather forcefully, which sent him crashing headfirst onto the road. The Injury The cyclist injured his head, causing his forehead to bleed. He was subsequently conveyed to the hospital for medical attention. Who do you think is at fault? The taxi driver, cyclist or both? Netizens' Comments Indeed. NGL this is somewhat true. He's paying the price for forgetting the most important, yet cheap safety component. ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news, and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. Somehow or rather, cyclists are always associated with poor road behaviour or being a road pest. Watch the video below and find out why it isn't difficult for the public to feel that way: What Happened? A Toyota Rav 4 was waiting for pedestrians to finish crossing the road at a pedestrian crossing before performing his left turn. Despite a blinking green man signal with 2 seconds left on the timer, a cyclist from the other side of the road made a last-minute decision to rush across the road with his two kids in tow. The driver failed to notice the cyclist and proceeded with his turn since it was highly likely that he was in the driver's blind spot. As a result, the Toyota SUV grazed the front of the bicycle, which caused the cyclist to stumble. Needless to say, the cyclist vented his frustration and anger at the Toyota driver by gesturing his middle finger towards the white SUV. I am pretty sure if there was audio, we could hear lots of profanities being projected from the cyclist. Netizens' Comments Typical road pest. Definitely both parties were at fault. Nuff said. ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news, and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. Join us today!

You would have probably heard the saying 'put on helmet cannot think' from your BMT sergeant or in an Ah Boys to Men movie. Sadly, it is true. And this condition affects anyone, regardless of whether you are wearing the SAF helmet or a bicycle helmet. Here's the reason why: What Happened? This ridiculous incident happened at the junction of Eu Tong Sen Street and Merchant Road. As the traffic lights turned green in the cam car's favour, an errant cyclist dashes out from the right, which caused the cam car and the car beside to perform an emergency brake. Despite the cam driver's timely reaction, the cam car halted right before the errant cyclist. As a result, the errant cyclist also had to perform an emergency brake which caused him to lose his balance. A State of Daze After the cyclist regained stability by putting one foot down, he gave the cam car and the car beside it a look, filled with incoherence. It was as though he was high/intoxicated and could not differentiate reality from fantasy. Afterwards, he continued to cycle off without any apology or remorse. What bugs me was that he had a blank expression on his face during the entire incident. Netizens' Comments It seems more like a cyclist 'thing' tho🤔 I LOL-ED at this comment. Why take such chances? If can avoid an accident, just avoid it lah. ======== Receive a $10 PayNow for every submission we publish on Facebook! Simply WhatsApp us ➡️https://bit.ly/3c6JERA

Some say it is because of one's bad luck, others say it's a mere coincidence. I say it is due to stupidity. Watch how the cyclist causes this accident in this video. What Happened? The accident occurred at the junction of Ang Mo Kio Avenue 1. In the dashcam video, the traffic light switched from amber to red within seconds. Despite this, a "Tour De Singapore" cyclist on a road bike decided to ignore and beat the red light. At this point, the pedestrian signal across the junction turned green, and pedestrians started to cross the road. Even as the cyclist started approaching a group of pedestrians, the cyclist made no effort in attempting any evasion manoeuvre and continued cycling straight into them. As a result, the thick-headed, errant cyclist who beat the red light collided with another cyclist cycling across the pedestrian crossing. The collision sent the errant "Tour De Singapore" cyclist and his bicycle flying. Luckily for the cyclist who got hit, he seemed fine and managed to get back on his feet instantly. What Now? Unfortunately, like all other errant cyclists out there, this cyclist will get away with it. Who in their right mind would beat a red light just before a major cross-junction? It takes lots of guts and even more stupidity to do something like this and put other road users in danger. Netizens' Comments Obviously a noob cyclist with no skills. Drivers after watching the video be like: 👁️👄👁️ Taking "fake it till you make it" to a whole new level! ======== Receive a $10 PayNow for every submission we publish on Facebook! TL:DR – A van driver displays the ugly side of humanity and intentionally cuts a cyclist’s path. When the cyclist confronts the driver, the driver threatens to call the police, makes snide remarks about the cyclist’s visa (he’s a foreigner) and even splashes water on him. While we usually see stories on MyCarForum about errant cyclists, today happens to be slightly different. Today, we watch the ugly side of humanity displayed by a ‘guai lan’ van driver who needs to get beat up. Watch this 5-min long video to understand why. The audio is a little out of sync though. What led to this confrontation? Yes, the exciting bits are at the start of the video. However, if you watch the whole video, the trigger was when the van driver overtook the bicycle and swerved into its path without adhering to the 1.5m safety distancing rule. Clearly. the driver had no intention to let the cyclist through. Road bullying at its worst If that wasn’t enough, the driver even threatened the foreign cyclist. Here are some quotes from the conversation The driver even splashes two bottles of liquid on the cyclist. Online Chatter Disgraceful and disgusting behaviour. ======== Receive a $10 PayNow for every submission we publish on Facebook! Simply WhatsApp us ➡️https://bit.ly/3c6JERA
