  1. Car suddenly lost power during cruising speed and come to a stop. What are the likely cause ? Can start but misfire & stalls
  2. This thread is about Norwegian Cruise Line, or NCL for short. This company is owned by the Genting group, which also owns Star Cruises. For this reason, NCL does not sail to Asia because the sister brands do not want to compete directly. NCL ships sail primarily in the Caribbean, Europe and Hawaii. We have only sailed with NCL once, but found the experience to be quite good. Compared to Royal Caribbean, their older ships are more 'basic' in features and certainly do not have all the 'Wow' factors like a Royal Promenade, Ice-Skating ring etc. However, their newer ships seem to be more exciting. We haven't sailed on the bigger and newer ships, so we don't have first hand experience. When we read the Cruise Critic Boards and other forums on cruising, many people said that NCL itineraries were more port intensive (i.e. fewer sea days) and also the suite life on NCL was superior to most cruise lines. So, when we found a very good deal in a 2-bedroom Penthouse suite, coupled with a good itinerary, we jumped on it. We sailed on the NCL Jade out of Rome late last year. We squeezed the maximum number of pax into the 2 bedroom suite, i.e. 6. A bit of a squeeze, but still fine for us as one big family. Here is the video I made of the suite. The best suite perks I felt were the suite-only breakfast and lunch at a speciality restaurant called Cagney's. What do I mean? Suite passengers are entitled to have breakfast and lunch every day at a speciality restaurant on board. The menu is the same every day, but more than adequate for us because we like the type of food they serve. These videos show you what I mean. Cagney's Lunch I will post more videos later.
  3. My Subaru R2 Aircon when idling is not cold, when cruising is cold. Cruising along expressway is cold but when come to traffic light stop, Aircon is not cold. BTW, I have just changed new Compressor and dryer. Is this Subaru R2 Characteristic? Any member have this issue too?
  4. We have cruised on the Celebrity Silhouette out of Rome, to the Med and Adriatic seas, late last year. We stayed in Rome, pre and post-cruise. There was so much to write about and photos/videos to share that I had put it all up in a blog page. http://guitar123foodandtravel.blogspot.sg/p/celebrity-silhouette-med-and-adriatic.html This was our itinerary. 1) Livorno (Florence and Pisa) 2) Corfu, Greece 3) Kotor, Montenegro 4) Dubrovnik, Croatia 5) Venice Part 1 - Sailing In 6) Venice Part 2 - Into Venice, St Mark's Square, Doge Palace 7) Venice Part 3 - St Mark's Square, Basilica, Murano & back to Ship 8) Venice Part 4 - Day 2, Roaming the streets of Venice 9) Catania, Sicily 10) Naples Part 1 - Amalfi Coast, Positano 11) Naples Part 2 - Sorrento 12) Naples Part 3 - Pompeii (AD 79) Happy to share. Hope you enjoy the review.
  5. Ok, it happens to me this morning at CTE expressway. Was cruising at around 80km/hr and suddenly engine got switched off and all warning light's starts to pop (engine check light, steering lock etc). I did not start to re-crank as the car is still moving and i worried if i re-crank it might damage the engine. funny thing was it automatically "resume" my engine after 3-6sec without re-crank. Anyone encountered before? I'm considered lucky as the the engine did not switch off at a bend... I'm pretty worried and concern now as i still have night appointments later..
  6. Anyone knows what's wrong? Tires all new, alignment done, balancing done. Steering wheel straight but car move slightly left. Second issue is the speed between 90-100 km/h, steering shake. Any bros can advice? Any inputs appreciate! Thank you!
  7. I was expressing my interest in an STi for jaunts up north, to Sepang and as well as for touring Peninsular Malaysia in general. But some of my colleagues (performance car drivers among them) said that TC cannot sustain cruising for high speeds for long duration. Is this true? I mean, I'm sure this applies for running at close to max speed and at max boost but how about reasonable speeds like about 160-180km/h? nowhere near top speed. In any case, there's plenty of air being forced into the radiator and whatnot at that kind of speed. not to mention the huge air scoop on the bonnet. I know an STi is not the perfect car for touring, but the question is, why can't it do the job? Or are my colleagues mistaken? I intend to mod it a bit when I get mine, nothing too extreme, maybe 400+bhp will be more than enuff. I'm not gunning for monster drag car. besides, tires are expensive
  8. read a lot posts in MCF regarding travel on NSHW, wonder some frends here quite often to talk about their above 180km/h cruising NSHW experience can't imagine at that speed consistently, tot most <1.6L Auto transmission cars(forget about those performance cars) hard to hit >180km/h, right my past NSHW experience was 110~130km/h mostly, occasionally 130~150km/h, road hogging bo? don't think my sunny1.6M can hit 180km/h
  9. Hey forum mates, say u were cruising at 130km/hr on the NSH for 1hour. when u decide to overtake someone, do u turn off O/D (drop to 3rd gear) and then overtake? i tried that on my picnic and there's a violent vibration momentarily. (RPM is still decent at 5k.) the car was fine afterwards, upping gear back to 4th gear and continue its 130km/hr cruising what is the issue?
  10. Almost everyday i come across cars cruising on 1st lane eventhough 2nd lane has nt much vehicle & even travelling @ same speed... I guess S'poreans needs to be more considerate on this point. Some ppl even taught speed limit for highway is 90km/hr & so travelling at 1st lane @ 90km/hr is nt wrong thus refuses to give way to fast moving vehicle... Sometimes there're ppl complaining abt tailgating but do think back whether are u road hogging 1st Lane? Juz wan to make a point here in this forum... Cheers!
  11. read this, http://www.zaobao.com/yl/yl070924_503.html how to say? the both side seems...
  12. Just out of curiousity, what is your driving habit? Yesterday, on my way back from the airport taking a cab. the driver was putting his foot on and off the accelerator when cruising. feel so uncomfortable with jerky effect. is it to save fuel? strangely, this driver also like to play with the clutch. keep on half clutching even at 70km/h at gear 5 see him drive i vomit blood
  13. My air-con is acting up on me again, today while cruising about 130-140km/l and occasional WOT along NSH, my air-con was frozen with white mist coming out. Low airflow and got the stinko smell too, anybody know what is wrong? The condenser up the lorry? Normal cruising of 80-100km/l in spore is ok though.
  14. I have just realized this and also in part from our dear Tien's usage of 5W20 oil in our climate. If you frequently cruise at 3kRPM (around 110+kph). A 40wt oil is pretty good for you. If you frequently cruise at 2-2.5kRPM (around 80-90kph), a 30wt oil is pretty good for you. If you drive really really slow constantly stuck in traffic jam, short distance runs. A 20wt oil is good for you. If your car got 6 gears, woohoo! Can use 30wt oil for cruising at 110+kph because the RPM is lower.
  15. helo alllllll tot getting the car is so exciting instead i'm feelin so pressurized while cruising along the xpressway n then down to the streets...so afraid others might kiss my ass...ahahaha...not used to it...n the gear is so difficult to handle...not like the Hyundai Accent so easy to change gear...then the signal handle is on the left instead of the right...tis is not much a problem though.so funny...the gear is so hard n difficult so i kept having problem on the changing gear part...so anyhow change anyhow drive la...ooops so u guys/gals beta dont drive behind me ya...ahahahaha...mine is SFT 9923 B quick go buy 4D .....then i went to park my car right at the top of the multi storey carpark n i can see the car jus right below ahahahaha ...so nex time i dont take lift...i shall connect a cable car or swing down to the carpark like tarzan or mayb shall jump like spiderman?any beta suggestion?
