Just curious... Coz it crossed my mind when I saw the two yellow lambs accident. Let's say a person takes a car or for a test drive and ends up hitting another car. I can safely say that the insurance will cover both cars. But unlike private owner whereby the one will caused the accident will have a huge jump in his premium the following year, will the car dealer be penalised the same way also? Or will the premium increase follow the test driver?

Hi, I am changed to 2016 Kia K3 forte from a direct owner. Quite a good drive but not too sure about the reliability. I am looking out for pre-owned car warranty programme that is available in Singapore. Is there anyone can recommend or discuss their differences and how good is their coverage? please advice. TYVM.

good people, I was goign through my insurance renewal when a particular clause strikes me, its says it includes insuring the COE & PARF value, and there is a tick for me to OPT OUT. My question now is, isn't COEs & PARF value guaranteed? Meaning, if in the event of total wreck or lost of vehicles, my remaining COE & eligible parf will be paid for by the governemnt? OR am I missing the point totally?

Imagine you are fetching a neighbor to work and this neighbor gives you a bar of chocolate. If you get into an accident, the injured neighbor is not covered by your private car insurance and he/she sues you. This is because private car insurance excludes "hire and reward" usage. Carrying of passengers with payment in this case. Anyone knows which insurer is willing to extend private car insurance to cover "hire and reward" ? Buying commercial car insurance is out of the question because you are not running a business and the payment is low.

If I were her, I would just terminate the plan. What can they do? Send me lawyer letters for the termination fee? If I ignore those letters, what can M1 do? I doubt they would escalate the matter by going to court for a paltry termination fee. This is a clear-cut case of a buyer not receiving the services he paid for from a seller. The buyer is justified to terminate the contract. Poor coverage but telco won't waive termination fee I AM an M1 mobile user and have been experiencing 'no service' or 'network lost' due to the weak network coverage both at home and in the office, which is in the west of the island. It is common for me not to be able to send SMSes, make or receive calls and have no Internet connection. At times, I cannot even find the M1 service under the 'carrier' option of my mobile phone. It has been more than nine months since I gave feedback to M1 on the weak coverage. I have written to and called M1 countless times. In September last year, M1 advised me to download an application to test the connection speed. I gave them the results but no action was taken. In December, M1 sent two engineers to my office to check on the signal strength. I was told that I would receive the results in a few days but I did not hear from anyone. In March this year, I called M1 and was told there was an enhancement plan in place. It would, however, take some time as they needed to get the necessary approval and so on. When asked how long it would take, M1 was unable to commit and only said they would update me. I called them again last month and was told that there was no enhancement plan at all. I decided to terminate my mobile line, and requested waiver of the penalty fee due to early termination of my contract. However, while M1 acknowledged that the coverage around my home and office area is weak, and that they cannot do anything about it, they are not prepared to grant me the waiver because of their business guidelines. I understand that for bank/finance insitutions there is a clause that says "Under the deposit insurance scheme, your Singapore dollar deposits in savings, current and fixed deposit accounts with a full bank or finance company in Singapore have a total coverage of up to S$20,000 per institution." I remember a while back there was also a mention of "The Singapore Government will guarantee all bank deposits till 31 Dec 2010". Does the first statement before the government guarantee makes you feel insecure? Is it wiser to distribute your savings across mulltiple banks?

Hi guys, can I get some advise on the above? Recently got into an accident and one of the rim was damaged. The authorized workshop told me that surveyor says that they cannot find the same model of rim to cover the damaged one. They will refund me $120 and I can get my own full set rims or top up $300 to get their full set rims. Is this normal with all insurance coverage and workshops?

If I rent a car in US for a couple of days, will the rental companies provide the motor insurance too? They do not seem to offer insurance for high performance vehicles like Ferrari but states that insurance is compulsory. How to get coverage then? I dun have this problem for Australia. Thanks.

LUXEMBOURG - Major sports events such as soccer's World Cup will be available to all television viewers in Britain and Belgium after Fifa lost a legal challenge on Thursday. The General Court, the European Union's second highest court, dismissed a similar challenge by European soccer's governing body, UEFA, against a decision by British authorities to protect broadcast of the European Championship finals. 'A member state may, in certain circumstances, prohibit the exclusive broadcast of all World Cup and Euro football matches on pay television, in order to allow the general public to follow those events on free television,' the Court said. It said such restrictions were justified by the public's right to information and the need to ensure wide access to TV broadcasts. Under an EU directive, EU countries are allowed to draw up a list of events of national interest or 'crown jewels' for broadcast on free-to-air stations, Such events include the Olympic Games, the football World Cup, the European Championships, England's FA Cup and the Wimbledon tennis championships. Fifa was contesting a 2007 Commission decision allowing Belgium and Britain to reserve broadcasting rights for the World Cup to free-to-air TV stations. Fifa and UEFA argued that the regime interferes with their property rights, especially when some countries broadcast all matches even though their national teams do not play in some of the events. The sports bodies also argue that they get less money from free-to-air TV broadcasts, which in turn would have a knock-on effect on investments and attracting world-class players and hence the quality of the games. Proponents say allowing everybody to watch sports events will increase interest in the games. 'We welcome the decision from the EU and continue to support the principle of protecting sports events for free to air coverage,' a spokesman for Britain's Culture, Media and Sport department said. -- REUTERS

Correct me if I am wrong, I get the impression that MBS is receiving much more coverage than RWS. Even our MM attended MBS's opening. Who was the guest of honour when RWS opened its doors? I wonder why.

Some shots from the final round of the D1 Grand Professional Drift Series, from Shah Alam, Malaysia that was just held on 4-Nov-2006. Loads of actions and loads of crashes too. The action was packed and the atmosphere was sizzling. The Thai drifters that came down were superb as well.
