  1. I bought a washer from COURTS many years ago together with their highly recommended Extended Warranty (EW) package that costs a few hundred of dollars. A few months ago, my washer started to leak and I called up the COURTS' service hotline and they told me that I need to pay for the transportation charges else they will not send anyone down to verify the problem neither quote me for the repair cost and advised me to check the T&Cs. Like most of the consumers that including myself, how many of you will spend time reading those fine lines of T&Cs printed at font size 8??? COURTS claimed the EW does not cover wear and tears, rubber gasket, and other uncovered items. Just wondering who will buy a washing machine and keep it at home without turning it on?? As a consumer, I would expect when this package called EW should follow the common sense of providing the same manufacturer warranty coverage for an extended period of time. Once again, COURTS proved me wrong as they are definitely not a normal people, their thinking is not to provide extended warranty services at all but just to scam consumer money. My lesson learned is never ever to buy COURT's extended warranty inclusive of other branded stores offering the same type of scamming packages. If you cannot resist the temptation, please spend time reading through the entire T&Cs even it may take you hours. Else you are just a victim donating your hard-earned money to some irresponsible culprits. The T&Cs are well crafted to protect them but not you as a consumer, you will never win. The conclusion is please DO NOT BUY ANY EXTENDED WARRANTY from COURTS and other stores. There are no differences based on my recent research on the internet... They are just here to scam your money.
  2. Just venting cos I found the situation so frustrating. Currently in a crowded food court. Managed to get a seat for myself and my daughter after a long while looking for empty seats. I saw a family of 4 at a set of 3 small tables joined together. Each small table can seat 2. Went ahead and asked the father if tge space at the third table was taken....It was. ..by his son's bag. His reply. .."too cramped". I looked at hi and said "II am shifting the table." And proceeded to do so. How selfish people can be even when they don't need the space and don't care if people are looking or waiting for seats. : (

Saw the camry hit a wish and the wish's front was turned to oncoming traffic. Didnt experience it 1st hand but if i did, i would most probably be an accident vehicle as well. I wonder whos fault was that. Anyone saw it? Was around 5pm. Dark blue wish IIRC. It spun 180 degrees to face oncoming traffic. Wish front was pretty bad. Camry, didnt see much damage.
  10. I went shopping recently and came across a Courts at Jurong Point. I saw this policy they provided is something attractive ie. they will replace the product straight away for a new one if the item has been repaired on the 4th time if sign up their warranty plan. I heard someone told me that once the warranty period is over soon, you can just make the electronic device you bought faulty and get it replaced. I wonder is there really such a good deal? How do Courts survive like that? Can someone advise?

  12. who's head(s) going to fall this time? ---- Escape bid from court: SOPs not followed A BREACH in procedure allowed two detainees to make an escape bid from the lock-up at the Subordinate Courts on Wednesday, said police, which will carry out a probe to see if there was any negligence involving the officers. Although the two men were re-arrested swiftly after their dash to freedom, the lunchtime breakout attempt will again raise questions about complacency and readiness levels within the security forces, coming so soon after the escape of terrorist Mas Selamat Kastari in late February. Commissioner of Police Khoo Boon Hui said in a statement issued at midnight: 'We have a proper system to manage persons-in-custody. Though our officers have arrested the two men expeditiously, I am treating the matter seriously and have directed CID to investigate into the escape, including whether there was any negligence involving the officers. 'Actions will be taken against those found to have not carried out their duties properly.' The flight to freedom for the escaped detainees was short-lived. One of them did not make it out of the court building. He apparently tripped and fell near the security checkpoint at the court entrance and was pinned down by three uniformed officers and brought back to the lock-up. The other man managed to get as far as the driveway of the nearby Furama Hotel about 100m away after leaping over a rope barrier and dashing out of the building, with a pack of security guards and cops in hot pursuit. He was caught and brought back to custody. Police said the duo had appeared in Court on Wednesday's morning for separate charges related to robbery with hurt. They were brought back to the lock-up to be transferred to the Queenstown Remand Prison and were placed in the same cell. At about 1.45pm, a police officer opened the cell gate to give water to one of the men who had asked for it. On opening the gate, the two men seized the opportunity to attack the officer and charged out. They continued to assault the police officer violently, punching and kicking him in the face and stomach, said the police statement. While the Police officer was down on the floor, they made their way to a gate at the exit of the lock-up. They then pressed a buzzer to indicate for the gate to be opened. Officer did not follow procedure 'According to procedure, the police officer responding to the buzzer should verify the identity of the person via the CCTV before opening the gate. He failed to do so,' said the statement. 'He opened the gate without checking, thereby enabling the two men to make their way through a stairwell leading to the ground floor public area of the Subordinate Courts.' An alert was raised and police officers were immediately deployed to seal off all exits. Within 10 minutes of the escape, police officers spotted both escapees at the lobby and managed to subdue one of them just before the main entrance. The other tried to dash out of the Subordinate Courts. He was arrested after a short chase. For voluntarily causing hurt to a public servant, the two men may be jailed up to seven years, fined, and caned. They will also be charged for escape from legal custody, which carries a jail term of up to two years and fine, if convicted.
  13. Hi, I saw an advertisement on Courts having lucky draw for WRX. From exterior it looks like the 2.5L one. But it is unbelievable that they will be giving out the higher range wrx rather than the 2.0L one. Maybe it is an downgraded version of 2.5L... Anyone seen it personally? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I got a crappy car.
