Nice outlook, BUT there is NO rear windscreen! A big NO for me. And I find Polestar's naming convention rather confusing. This PS4 actually sit between PS2 (compact sedan) and PS3 (mid-size crossover), Swapping the name with PS3 make more sense imo. The Polestar 4 is the brand’s latest addition to the electric automaker’s growing lineup, with the new SUV slotting between the Polestar 2 sedan and the larger 3 in terms of size and price. The compact crossover adopts a stylish design showcasing key features from the Polestar Precept concept car. The Polestar 4 will be available in both single- and dual-motor layouts. The long-range, dual-motor version produces 544 horsepower and 686 Nm of torque. The crossover can hit 100 kilometers per hour in 3.8 seconds, making it the brand’s fastest production car ever. Even though the Polestar 1 had more power, the Polestar 4 will complete century sprint 60 quicker. The long-range, single-motor version, which powers the rear wheels, makes 272 hp and 343 Nm of torque. Polestar gives the long-range, single-motor variant a preliminary range target of over 483 kilometers based on the US EPA’s test procedure. The automaker fits both long-range models with the same 102.0-kilowatt-hour battery capable of 200-kilowatt DC charging and 22-kW AC. The 4 has bi-directional charging with vehicle-to-load capability and a heat pump as standard equipment. The Polestar 4 debuts with a new drive optimization function that allows drivers to select between range and performance driving modes. Range prioritizes efficiency, with the crossover capable of disengaging the front electric motor to save energy via a disconnect clutch. Performance mode sharpens the 4’s responsiveness and engages both motors at full power at all times. The dual-motor version has a semi-active suspension, while Polestar offers the model lineup with a range of 20- to 22-inch wheel choices wrapped in either Pirelli or Michelin rubber. The crossover features a low aerodynamic nose, retractable door handles, and frameless windows. It has no rear window glass, with the standard glass roof extending behind the heads of the rear-seat passengers. The Polestar 4 crossover is 4,839 millimeters long, 2,139 mm wide, and 1,544 mm tall. It has a 2,999 mm wheelbase, which makes it as big as the Audi Q7 between the front and rear wheels while being shorter overall. Safety is front and center with the Polestar 4. It has nine airbags, 12 cameras, one radar system, and 12 ultrasonic sensors. Drivers glean information from a 10.2-inch display ahead of the steering column, but a 14.7-inch head-up display is available to reduce distractions. It features a nifty “snow mode” that switches the HUD’s text color from white to yellow. A 15.4-inch landscape-oriented infotainment display runs Android Automotive OS. It has built-in Android features like Google Maps, Google Assistant, and the Google Play store. Apple CarPlay is included, and customers can upgrade to a 12-speaker Harmon Kardon sound system. However, those who upgrade to the Nappa Pack get two additional speakers in each front headrest for 16 total. Polestar will offer the sleek crossover with several upgrade packs. The Plus Pack focuses on improving the model’s tech and comfort kit. The Plus Pro Pack adds color-coded body bits, an electrochromic glass roof, and extra interior illumination. The previously mentioned Nappa Pack, which customers can select with the Plus Pack, also adds massaging seats and Nappa leather upholstery with ventilation. The long-range, dual-motor version is available with a Performance Package that includes Polestar Engineered chassis tuning. The pack also comes with 22-inch wheels, four-piston Brembo brakes, and gold details for the brakes, seat belts, and valve caps. The Polestar 4 will begin production this November in China, where it’ll launch first. The company will release more specific details for other markets in 2024, with the vehicle arriving later that same year. Polestar indicates the crossover will have a launch price of US$60,000 to start.

This concept was shown early part of last month, and there is only 1 reason I did not post it till date: Its ugly nose job, which I hope it is an one off design effort, BUT... BMW Concept 4: Chris Bangle Come Back, All Is Forgiven BMW has previewed the design of the forthcoming M3 and M4 with the launch of the BMW Concept 4 at the Frankfurt Motor Show. It shows that the new 4-Series will be a radical departure from its predecessor and have a face dominated by a kidney grille so big it could swallow two children. If only Chris Bangle (who, at the time, got his fair share of flak) was still designing Bimmers… The German car manufacturer’s press release appropriately starts out by discussing that grille. According to BMW, “the vertically oriented grille fits seamlessly into both the proportions of the front end and BMW’s illustrious past” and it evokes classics such as the 328 and 3.0 CSi. “The kidney grille has always been a signature feature of BMW cars,” added head of BMW Design Domagoj Dukec. “The BMW Concept 4 presents a confident and classy take on this iconic feature. At the same time, the BMW Concept 4 offers a look ahead to the expressive face of the 4 Series range.” Looking past the vertical kidney grille are slim and aggressive laser headlights as well as huge air intakes to gulp down air. The Concept 4 also features particularly expressive sides and slim, two-section mirrors that are partly finished in polished aluminium, as well as 21-inch wheels with a five-spoke pattern. As controversial as the design of the front may be, we suspect people will be more accommodating for the rear fascia. The most noteworthy feature out back are the flowing LED taillights, an angular bumper with a gloss black diffuser and large, rectangular-shaped chrome tailpipes.

This is NOT the standard Q3, but the BMW X2 rival, a coupe style SUV. Audi is adding a compact SUV in coupé shape to its model range: the Audi Q3 Sportback. The new model combines the strong presence and versatile everyday convenience of an SUV with the sporty elegance and agile handling of a coupé. This makes it the first compact crossover of the Audi brand. Low roofline, muscular body: the design The Audi Q3 Sportback stands for strength and precision to an equal degree, and reflects this in all design details. The black grille of the octagonal Singleframe is strongly three-dimensional in design, and this makes it particularly sporty. The same applies for the trapezoidal air inlets and the expressive bumper with its flat blade. The coupé-like passenger cabin acts as a contrast to the distinctive attachments, which are painted in contrasting colors and thus emphasize the SUV character. The low roofline gives way to flat D-pillars and ends in a roof edge spoiler. As a result, the Audi Q3 Sportback appears much longer than its sister model Q3. In addition, the SUV-coupé is almost three centimeters flatter, and thus has a more muscular appearance. Above the wheels, strong contours draw attention to the quattro drive, which comes as standard with most engines. Many light and shadow effects arise on the plastic-formed rear. The low window, flanked by aero trims, and the sporty bumper, which takes up the look of the air inlets, emphasize the width of the Audi Q3 Sportback. The reversing lights contribute to this as well: they run inwards in a tapered shape, just like the flat headlights. Audi supplies the latter in three versions up to Matrix LED technology, whose adaptive high beam intelligently illuminates the road as best suits the driving situation. Sporty on and off the road: the suspension The Audi Q3 Sportback offers driving fun on various terrains. In the city, on long-haul routes, or on easy terrain - the compact crossover is a dynamic all-rounder. It features progressive steering as standard, whose gear ratio becomes increasingly direct as the steering angle increases, and the sport suspension. On request, the suspension is available with damper control, which further increases the range between dynamism and comfort. Depending on the driving situation, road condition, and personal preferences, the driver can vary the car's characteristics via the standard dynamic handling system, Audi drive select, in six profiles, including the offroad mode. In addition to the engine and transmission set-up, this system also influences the electronically adjustable shock absorbers and the steering assistance. As an option, the hill descent control can offer support: it keeps the speed selected by the driver constant on an incline greater than 6%. TFSI, TDI, S tronic, quattro: the drive For the market launch in Europe, a gasoline and a diesel engine are available for selection for the Audi Q3 Sportback. With 169 kW (230 metric hp), the 2.0 TFSI is the most powerful engine. The 2.0 TDI has an output of 110 kW (150 metric hp). Shortly after market launch, it will also be available as a manual transmission with a quattro drive. Additional engines will follow in the course of the year, including a more powerful diesel and an entry-level gasoline engine, which works together with a 48 V mild-hybrid system. During deceleration, it recovers energy; during acceleration from low speeds, it supports the engine. In real-life driving, it can save up to 0.4 l of fuel per 100 km (62.1 mi). In the top engines, the quattro all-wheel drive takes on the job of force transmission as standard. Its central component is a hydraulic multi-plate clutch on the rear axle. Its electronic management combines outstanding stability and strong traction with a high level of driving enjoyment. At the limits of performance, the quattro drive works closely together with the wheel-selective torque control, It makes handling even more dynamic and stable by means of gentle brake interventions on the inside wheels with the quattro drive and the inside front wheel with the front drive. Variable comfort: Interior and space concept The Audi Q3 Sportback is 4.50 m (14.8 ft) long, 1.84 m (6.0 ft) wide and 1.56 m (5.1 ft) high; its wheelbase measures 2.68 m (8.8 ft). This results in a large and highly variable interior. The rear seats offer space for three people. They can be moved 130 mm (5.1 in) longitudinally as standard; their backrests are divided into three sections, and their inclination can be adjusted in seven stages. The volume of the luggage compartment ranges from 530 l (18.7 cu ft) to 1,400 l (49.4 cu ft). The loading floor can be adjusted to two levels, and the rear shelf is located beneath it. As an option, Audi will deliver an electric tailgate that can also be opened and closed with a foot motion. The front seats - electrically adjustable and heated on request - offer a sporty position and a high level of comfort. Depending on the equipment, there are sport seats with contrasting stitching and colored stripes along the side panels. In addition, Alcantara surfaces on the instrument panel and the armrests emphasize the progressive design philosophy. In the dark, the optional contour/ambient lighting package sets lighting accents with its 30 selectable colors. Digital world: Displays and operation The operating and display concept proves how Audi is pushing ahead with digitalization: Even the basic equipment includes a digital instrument cluster with a 10.25-inch screen diagonal, which the driver operates using the multifunction steering wheel. In the top-of-the-line system, MMI navigation plus, the displays appear in the Audi virtual cockpit, which offers many additional functions. A touch display measuring 10.1 inches is positioned in the center of the instrument panel. When a function is selected, it emits acoustic feedback. Just like in the brand's full-size class models, it is surrounded by wide, high-gloss black trim. Together with the air-conditioning control unit located beneath it, the display is ergonomically tilted 10° towards the driver. On request, the 12.3-inch Audi virtual cockpit plus is available with three selectable layouts, including a particularly dynamic view. The flat menu structure is complemented by a control unit that uses natural language and can also understand free wordings. Entering a navigation destination and the MMI search are based on free text input. The system recognizes the driver's most frequent destinations based on previous journeys, allowing it to generate suitable suggestions. When doing so, it takes into consideration statistical empirical values regarding the traffic load and time of day. Comprehensive networking: Infotainment and Audi connect Together with MMI navigation plus, the online services of Audi connect are made available on board at LTE Advanced speed via a permanently installed SIM card. This includes, for example, online traffic information and the online points of interest service, which complements route guidance with photos, opening hours, and user evaluations. Thanks to the inter-connectivity of the Audi fleet, the Q3 Sportback receives and provides information about parking spaces on the roadside, hazard areas, and speed limits, which are detected via the on-board camera and vehicle sensors. Traffic light information is a new feature among the Car-to-X services. The car receives data from a city's traffic computer, as a result of which the driver receives information about traffic light phases in the Audi virtual cockpit. This allows drivers to adjust their speed pre-emptively, which increases efficiency and improves traffic flow. This offering is initially available in individual European cities and will be gradually extended depending on the infrastructure in the urban area. Another new feature is the cloud-based Amazon voice service Alexa, which streams music and audio books and also offers access to more than 80,000 Alexa Skills. Navigation with Google Earth™ and the hybrid radio, which automatically switches between FM, DAB and online streaming depending on the reception conditions, also form part of the Audi connect navigation & infotainment plus package. The voice control system uses the detailed knowledge in the cloud to answer the driver's questions and commands. The free myAudi App and the Audi smartphone interface ensure interconnectivity between the car and smartphone. This integrates Android and iOS cell phones into the on-board infotainment system. The content of the smartphone is shown in the MMI display via Apple CarPlay or Android Auto, and no cables are required if the top infotainment system is used with an iPhone. The Audi phone box and the Bang & Olufsen Premium Sound System with virtual 3D sound round off this comprehensive offer. Outstanding in any situation: the assist systems In the Audi Q3 Sportback, four standard systems are used for safety. These include the lane departure warning and the lane change warning. While the former helps the driver to remain in the lane, the latter points out critical situations when changing lanes, such as if there is a vehicle in the blind spot. The series scope in Germany also includes Audi pre sense front. If a head-on collision is imminent, it outputs a visual, acoustic, and haptic warning to the driver. In an emergency, it causes full braking and initiates the Audi pre sense basic safety measures. This involves tightening the front seat belts, closing the windows and the optional sliding roof, and activating the hazard warning lights. The adaptive cruise assist is a highlight of the optional systems. It takes the burden off the driver during longitudinal and lateral guidance. Ultra-modern systems such as the 360 degree cameras offer assistance with parking and maneuvering. They show the direct surroundings of the SUV coupé on the MMI display, and the driver can choose from several perspectives. The park assist automatically guides the car into and out of parking spaces. If, for example, the driver wants to back out of an entrance, the rear cross traffic assist warns about approaching vehicles that the system classifies as critical. Available commercially from fall onwards: Market launch and edition model Delivery of the Audi Q3 Sportback in Europe will start in the fall 2019. In Germany, the price for the 35 TDI S tronic is €40,200, while the 45 TFSI quattro S tronic is available from a starting price of €46,200. An exclusive edition model in two designs accompanies the market launch, Depending on their paint finishes, they are called "edition one dew silver" and "edition one mythos black." In both models, the exterior is based on the S line and the black styling package. Dark decorative panels in the matrix LED headlights and 20-inch wheels make for an even sportier look. The interior features a silver edition model with the noble interior design selection and bright colors, while the black model is based on the dark interior S line, supplemented by blue Alcantara areas on the instrument panel and the armrests in the doors.

Have to admit that this Asskana Arkana is damn sexy. Truly a French affair. Groupe Renault confirms its desire to break the rules and become the first general vehicle maker to offer an international Coupé SUV. The production version of Arkana is an all-new C-segment (4.54 m) model with an innovative, distinctive design. Built at the Moscow plant and on sale from this summer on the Russian market, it will contribute to the worldwide expansion of Groupe Renault as part of its strategic Drive the Future plan. Combining the elegance of a saloon, the sportiness of a coupé and the robustness of an SUV, the Arkana show-car impressed everyone when it was unveiled at the 2018 Moscow Motor Show. The external design of the production version of the Arkana Coupé SUV differs only slightly from the show-car. It retains the sloping roof line, very high waistline and wide, expressive bumper. The chrome components on the grill and around the windows and C-Shape LED headlights embody the DNA of Renault design, to highlight its elegant appearance. When it goes on the market in summer 2019, the All-New Renault Arkana Coupé SUV will be offered in a range of 7 bodywork colours and 3 finish levels. It will be fitted with 17-inch tyres. A modern, comfortable interior Inside, the Renault Arkana Coupé SUV is all about space, quality, modernity and comfort, due, amongst other features, to materials that are pleasant to the touch, a new multimedia system and the MULTI-SENSE settings. The central console is equipped with an 8-inch touchscreen interface for the Renault EASY LINK multimedia system, which supports Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and Yandex Auto. The driver can personalise many of the components with practical, easy-to-use apps. Renault Arkana also has the benefit of MULTI-SENSE technology, which gives the driver a choice of three driving modes (Eco, Sport, My sense) and 8 ambience colours. This Coupé SUV is fitted with ideal equipment for winter driving - the steering wheel and driver and front passenger's seats are heated. The boot has a dual lighting system and the folding rear seats mean that luggage space can easily be increased from 508 litres to up to 1333 liters. The Renault engineers have also minimised vibrations and optimised the passenger compartment soundproofing on this new Coupé SUV. And thanks to a new Bose audio system, the passengers in the Renault Arkana are bathed in a high-quality sound approaching that of a live performance. 4-wheel drive for all road conditions The versatility and sturdiness of the Renault Arkana Coupé SUV on the road are the fruits of the joint efforts of the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance, and of the Alliance's collaboration with Daimler. It is fitted with a new TCe 150 petrol engine that makes its first appearance on the Russian market. This turbocharged engine delivers 150hp and 250Nm of torque, to combine performance and driving pleasure with market-leading efficiency (7 l/100 km in combined cycle). This engine is coupled with an X-Tronic gearbox, to provide flexibility and responsive acceleration, and with the smart All Mode 4x4-i 4-wheel drive system developed by the Alliance. This system ensures permanent control of the vehicle's road holding to guarantee optimum traction, whatever the conditions. This Coupé SUV boasts a reinforced chassis and a ground clearance of 208 mm, one of the highest in the category. Combined with angles of attack and departure of 18° and 25° respectively, it gives the All-New Renault Arkana true off-road and crossover capabilities. Finally, Renault Arkana has been put through a range of sturdiness and durability tests, including 300,000 km of trials in extreme driving conditions. This rigour ensures optimum comfort, in town or on winding roads, whatever the weather conditions.

After 2 years of rumors and several CGIs, it is finally coming... Audi's new Q5 Sportback has been spotted ahead of its reveal later this year. This is the second SUV Sportback from Audi, the first being the Q3 Sportback, which was launched last year. When attached to an SUV, the Sportback name indicates a coupe-like roofline ending in a liftback, as opposed to the more upright tailgates traditionally found on SUVs. At the front, Audi has ditched the headlights of the standard Q5 in favor of ones more akin to those from the Q3 Sportback. This prototype also features a blacked-out front grille with a chrome surround as well as some dashes of silver around the edges of the front air intakes. As the Sportback in its name implies, Audi has overhauled the shape of the vehicle’s roof to give it that Coupe-like appearance. There is no camouflage per say at the rear but there is some tape over the taillights, hiding parts of their design. With that being said, it is clear that they too have been altered from the taillights of the normal Q5.

The New 612 HP BMW Alpina B8 Gran Coupé Is as Powerful as It Is Luxurious Alpina has never seen reason to differentiate between luxury and high-performance vehicles, and that’s no less true of its latest confection. The German performance automaker has just unveiled a new souped-up BMW, the Alpina B8 Gran Coupe. The stately car is easily the most luxurious entry in the new 8-Series lineu, and it also happens to be one of the most powerful thanks thanks to its gutsy V-8 engine. At a glance, the Alpina B8 doesn’t look all that different from the standard B8 Gran Coupé. That’s a good thing, because the five-door is already one of the most elegant vehicles in the BMW lineup. There are some changes, of course. Both ends of the vehicle have been tweaked, with a larger air intake and a diffuser up front and a lip spoiler in the back. There’s also special Alpina decals and badging, as well as its trademark 21-inch, 20-spoke forged wheels, which come wrapped in Pirelli performance tires. The interior has also been given a subtle makeover. Almost everything—including the multi-functional front sport seats, steering wheel and instrument panel—is covered or accented with Merino leather finely crafted in Alpina’s in-house workshop. Behind the steering wheel, you’ll find a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster. The center console is topped by BMW’s 10.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, from which you can access the navigation and driver assistance system. A Harman Kardon surround sound system also comes standard. While the raft of opulent accoutrements gives the Alpina B8 bona fide luxury appeal, the beastly mill under its hood may be even more impressive. The engine is the same 4.4-liter twin-turbo V-8 found in M850i and M8 model. Mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission, it’s been specially tuned so that it generates 612 horses and 590 ft lbs of twist. That makes it the second most powerful 8-Series car, trailing only the M8 with the Competition package, which delivers 617 hp. It’s pretty speedy, too, able to accelerate from zero to 60 mph in 3.3 seconds and reach a top speed of 201 mph. The Alpina B8 Gran Coupé is expected to arrive in the US later this spring. In addition to being the most luxurious entry in the 8-Series lineup, it’s also the most expensive with a starting price of $140,895.

Hi Brothers may i just do a quick survey to check which of the above 3 luxury coupes best appeal to you? Key points of consideration; 1) Handling and Sheer Driving Pleasure; 2) Engine Refinement 3) Body Styling and looks 4) Value for Money Thanks

Roland Gumpert Nathalie Coupe Calling the Roland Gumpert Nathalie ambitious would be an understatement. The powertrain alone will be one of the most unique ever fitted to a production car — a combined 536 horsepower and 730 lb-ft of torque from a hybrid methanol fuel cell and electric motors that drive all four wheels. Range and performance specs make the Nathalie even more impressive, with a 0-60 time of 2.5 seconds, a top speed of 190 MPH, and a range of 510 miles at 75 MPH, or up to 745 miles with Eco mode activated. Add to this a carbon fiber chassis and aerospace-level aerodynamics and the Nathalie will be one of the most advanced cars to ever hit the road — albeit in extremely limited quantities. 500 will be made with production scheduled to start in 2021.

Before I start with the series of photos, this latest X6 is super beng to me, 'cos it even come with Lighted Grille, YES, you read it correctly! Roughly a decade ago, BMW took the innovative step of blending the signature attributes of a Sports Activity Vehicle with the DNA of a classical coupe - and the all-new Sports Activity Coupe (SAC) class was born. The BMW X6 was the founder member of the new category and continues to combine extrovert presence with standout performance and an edgy design to this day. More than 443,000 units of the X6 have now been sold worldwide across two model generations. The crisply expressive design language of the third-generation BMW X6 underscores its confident, commanding and muscular appearance. The interplay of advanced powertrain & chassis technology and top-class equipment features delivers a uniquely sporting yet also very comfortable driving experience. Progress is likewise the name of the game with the extensive spread of innovative operating tech and driver assistance systems. The BMW X6 is produced at BMW Plant Spartanburg in the US state of South Carolina. This centre of expertise for BMW X models also handles production of the BMW X3, BMW X4, BMW X5 and BMW X7. The new BMW X6 will celebrate its world premiere at the IAA 2019 in Frankfurt am Main. The market launch will follow in November 2019. Vehicle concept and design The new BMW X6 has grown by 26 millimetres in exterior length over the outgoing model (to 4,935 mm) and by 15 mm (to 2,004 mm) in width. It now stands 6 mm lower (at 1,696 mm) and combines dynamically stretched proportions with an extremely powerful appearance, which is enhanced by a wider front track (+44 mm to 1,684 mm). The car's wheelbase has increased by 42 mm to 2,975 millimetres, and the new model also has a lower centre of gravity than its predecessor, which helps to give the new BMW X6 its exceptional agility and handling poise. Premiere for illuminated BMW kidney grille The large, single-frame BMW kidney grille is the most striking feature of the front end. The outer edges of the kidney grille approach the headlights at a clearly defined angle. The new BMW X6 is available for the first time as an option with an illuminated BMW kidney grille, which adds an exclusive flourish to the exterior design. The illumination is activated by opening or closing the car, but the driver can switch it on and off manually too. This unique design element is also available during a journey, lending further lustre to the already head-turning appearance of the new BMW X6. The characteristic twin headlights extend up to the BMW kidney grille and emphasise the presence and width of the car. The new BMW X6 comes with LED headlights as standard. If the optional BMW Laserlight with Adaptive LED headlights is specified, a BMW Laserlight spotlight with Selective Beam optimises the non-dazzling high beam function, whose range increases to around 500 metres. This optional extra can be identified by the blue x-shaped elements which split up the hexagonal light sources inside the headlights. The flanks of the new X6 are defined by familiar BMW proportions, a crisply drawn character line and the dynamic roofline. Light-alloy wheels up to 22 inches in size can be found within the subtly hexagon-shaped wheel arches. The Air Breathers in body colour combine with the striking wheel arches to underline the exterior's dynamic looks. The rear of the new BMW X6 has an extremely athletic silhouette with powerful shoulders, which is further accentuated by the wide L-shaped LED rear lights. The tailgate is integrated seamlessly and therefore almost invisibly into the car's horizontal lines. The new BMW X6 is fitted as standard with 19-inch light-alloy wheels. Other wheel variants in 20-inch - 22-inch formats are available as an option. The BMW X6 M50i and BMW X6 M50d come with 21-inch light-alloy wheels as standard. Two model variants with distinctive design features The new BMW X6 is available from launch in xLine and M Sport model variants as an alternative to standard specification. The two equipment lines each have their own distinctive design cues. For example, xLine highlights the robustness of the new Sports Activity Coupe with the help of underguard protection elements (in body colour at the front and matt Black at the rear). Specific components in Pearl-effect Chrome - such as the air intakes, side grilles, side skirts with trim strips, Air Breather edging, air flaps and exhaust tailpipes - are also included in xLine cars. The fronts of the grille bars are likewise in Pearl-effect Chrome. The M Sport model brings a strikingly dynamic design angle to the front and rear aprons, and Adaptive M suspension, the side window graphic in High-gloss Black, wheel arch trim painted in body colour and M Sport brakes with blue-painted callipers also take their places in the M Sport package. Available as an option from 12/2019 are M carbon exterior mirror caps and a rear spoiler likewise in carbon fibre-reinforced plastic (CFRP). High-quality options from BMW Individual can be added from launch to give the car an ultra-exclusive exterior look. These include special BMW Individual paint finishes and 22-inch BMW Individual lightalloy wheels. Extended BMW Individual High-gloss Shadow Line trim completes the BMW Individual offering. The M Sport exhaust system - fitted as standard on both M models and now also available as an option for the other versions of the BMW X6 and as part of the M Sport package - gives the car an unmistakable and emotionally rich aural presence. Interior and equipment The interior of the new BMW X6 is geared squarely to delivering an exclusive and dynamic driving experience. Clear structures lend the cabin a modern and sporty appearance. The design of the cockpit, complete with the new arrangement and design of the control elements, embodies a progressive re-interpretation of the driver focus for which BMW is renowned. Together with the raised seating position, this design approach gives the driver the best possible overview of the driving task and therefore enables them to deal with events on the road with consummate ease at all times. The interior boasts carefully selected materials and unbeatable build quality. The new BMW X6 comes as standard with Vernasca leather upholstery, while extended BMW Individual Merino leather trim is on the options list. The standard sports seats in the new BMW X6 are electrically adjustable and heated. Multifunction seats - with a choice of features such as seat ventilation and massage function for the driver and front passenger - can be specified as an option. The model-specific kneepads on the centre console now have a new design, and special door pulls are also included. The new BMW X6 offers a high degree of variability. The 40:20:40 split rear seat backrests can be folded down to increase boot capacity from 580 to 1,525 litres. Specific design for the M Sport and xLine variants The M Sport package and xLine specification employ specific design cues to imbue the interior of the new BMW X6 with a distinctive ambience. The M Sport package heightens the dynamically intense character of the new BMW X6 with an M Sport steering wheel and M-specific pedals. Exclusive Aluminium Tetragon interior trim strips and an anthracite BMW Individual headliner are also part of this package. Interior trim strips in M Carbon Fibre are available as an option. xLine specification includes a car key with chrome trim. The new BMW X6 can also be ordered with further exclusive options from BMW Individual which allow the interior to be tailored even more closely to the owner's personal style. One example of these is BMW Individual Merino leather trim, whose immaculate leather undergoes a sophisticated tanning process to ensure it is as supple as possible. Array of innovations help deliver a luxurious and exclusive driving experience Standard specification for the new BMW X6 includes 2.5-zone automatic climate control, while a four-zone system can be ordered as an option. Also available as an option is the Ambient Air package, which refreshes the air inside the car by ionisation and allows the driver to choose from eight selectable interior fragrances. Another innovation is the newly developed panoramic glass roof, whose clear surface is around 83 per cent larger than on the outgoing model. The optional Panorama glass roof Sky Lounge, meanwhile, brings a particularly exclusive ambience to the interior of the new BMW X6 during the hours of darkness. More than 15,000 graphic patterns in the glass roof are illuminated and generate a display reminiscent of a starlit sky. Six different colours are available for the illumination of the Panorama glass roof Sky Lounge. The BMW X6 comes as standard with ambient lighting, which includes the Welcome Light Carpet. This feature illuminates the approach to the doors when they are unlocked or opened, enhancing comfort and safety when getting in and out of the car. New BMW X6 customers can also select the optional thermoelectric cup holders, which are integrated into the front section of the centre console and keep drinks containers cool or warm, as desired. The new BMW X6 can be specified as an option with glass applications for selected controls, adding unique visual and haptic flourishes to the interior and heightening the level of individualisation. The glass applications are available for the transmission selector lever, the iDrive Controller, the start/stop button and the audio system's volume control. The optionally available Bowers & Wilkins Diamond Surround Sound System conjures an engrossing treat for the ears inside the new BMW X6. A seven-channel amplifier with 1,500-watt output and 20 speakers generates an impressive 3D audio experience in all seats. This sound system is unique worldwide in the automotive sector. The telephony with wireless charging option allows compatible mobile phones to be charged wirelessly in the tray positioned ahead of the cup holders. Powertrain and driving experience The line-up of engines available for the new BMW X6 from launch includes two petrol units and a pair of diesel variants from the latest generation. Topping the X6 range is a BMW M model: the BMW X6 M50i. This ultrasporty flagship, powered by a newly developed petrol V8, is joined by another BMW M family member in the shape of the BMW X6 M50d with six-cylinder in-line diesel engine and four turbochargers. Straight-six units also see action - in the BMW X6 xDrive40i and BMW X6 xDrive30d. All models come as standard with an eight-speed Steptronic transmission, while BMW xDrive intelligent all-wheel drive enhances dynamics and maximises traction both on the road and over loose ground. The BMW TwinPower Turbo technology for petrol engines consists of turbocharging, High Precision Injection direct fuel injection, VALVETRONIC fully variable valve timing and Double-VANOS variable camshaft timing. The package of technology in the diesel units is made up of turbocharging and common-rail direct injection with piezo injectors. Exhaust gas treatment in the petrol models is courtesy of a gasoline particulate filter, which minimises particulate emissions. The diesel models employ BMW BluePerformance technology including a particulate filter, an oxidation catalyst, a NOx adsorption catalyst and an SCR catalyst with AdBlue injection to reduce nitrogen oxide emissions. All variants of the new BMW X6 fulfil the requirements of the EU6d-TEMP emissions standard. BMW xDrive maximises traction, agility and directional stability in the new BMW X6, as in all BMW X models. In particularly dynamic driving situations, the intelligent all-wheel-drive system has a rear-wheel bias. In situations which do not require all-wheel drive, drive power can be channelled entirely to the rear wheels in the interests of efficiency. The car's sporting attributes are aided by the electronically controlled M differential lock at the rear axle available either individually as an option or as part of M Sport specification. It optimises the transfer of power in dynamic driving situations by limiting equalisation of the rotational speeds of the wheels on the inside and the outside of the bend, with the result that the new BMW X6 can power out of corners with exceptional élan. Added to which, the controlled locking function for the rear differential maximises traction and the ability of the X6 to put down its power on rough ground. A feature of the optional xOffroad package, it also optimises traction on roads where grip levels vary between the right and left rear wheels by preventing a wheel with insufficient grip from spinning. Access all areas: top-class dynamics, comfort and off-road ability A double-wishbone front axle and five-link rear axle give the suspension of the new BMW X6 the ideal tools to deliver dynamism and ride comfort on the road, plus unshakable traction off the beaten track. The Sports Activity Coupe comes as standard with Dynamic Damper Control. As well as improving the primary and secondary ride, the electronically controlled dampers also enhance the car's dynamic characteristics. The driver can use the Driving Experience Control switch to select either of two settings placing the emphasis on a sporting or comfort-biased driving experience. Indeed, the suspension systems in the new BMW X6 make it possible to boost its dynamic flair, comfort or off-road performance more intently and effectively than ever before. Adaptive M suspension Professional with active roll stabilisation and Integral Active Steering endows the car with exceptionally agile and dynamic driving qualities. The roll stabilisation system works using electric swivel motors and enables remarkably swift and precise compensation of body roll when powering through twists and turns. Not only does this facilitate agility and directional stability when turning into corners, it helps optimise traction when accelerating out the other side as well. The roll stabilisation system on the new BMW X6 also increases straight-line driving comfort by actively countering the vibrations triggered by bumps on one side of the road. The electromechanically operated Integral Active Steering is also available as an individual option. By turning the rear wheels in either the same direction as or the opposite direction to the fronts, depending on the road speed, it lends itself to more nimble cornering, effortless lane changes and darting through city traffic. Integral Active Steering makes light work of manoeuvring into and out of tight parking spots, while also increasing directional stability when overtaking at motorway speeds. The new BMW X6 is available with two-axle air suspension including automatic self-levelling. The suspension's air supply is controlled individually for each wheel using an electrically driven compressor with pressure reservoir, making it possible to balance out an unevenly loaded car. Thanks to the linkup with the Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) system, the vehicle load registered by the air suspension's sensors can also be factored into braking modulation. The car's height can be altered at the touch of a button in the cockpit and the driver can choose from five different modes. For example, the driver is also able to adjust the body's ground clearance for off-road driving to a maximum 40 millimetres above the standard setting. Another button lowers the car by 40 millimetres below the default height in preparation for loading or unloading items. The height of the X6 above the ground can therefore be varied through up to 80 millimetres, making it significantly easier to get in and out of the car and to load and unload items from the boot. The desired vehicle ride height can also be set with the engine switched off and using the optional BMW Display Key. The new BMW X6 is offered with an off-road package as an option. This can be identified by its rugged underguard elements at the front end. Available for all model variants with the exception of the BMW X6 M50i and BMW X6 M50d, the xOffroad package includes two-axle air suspension and an electronically controlled rear differential lock. The person at the wheel can choose from four modes specialising in driving over snow, sand, gravel or rocks respectively. At the press of a button, drivers can activate the ideal settings for the vehicle's ride height, the xDrive system, the transmission control and the DSC system's corrective inputs. Accelerator response also adapts to the driving mode selected. The new BMW X6 M50i A BMW M model represents the top rung of the third-generation BMW X6 model line-up at launch, its immense performance headlining the dynamic character of the new Sports Activity Coupe. The new BMW X6 M50i is powered by a comprehensively newly developed 4.4-litre V8 petrol engine with maximum output of 390 kW/530 hp. Linking up with the eightspeed Steptronic transmission and xDrive intelligent all-wheel drive, the potent power delivery of the eight-cylinder unit ensures impressively sporty performance. The motor racing expertise amassed by BMW M GmbH is clearly evident in the driving characteristics of the new BMW X6 M50i, its handling a compelling concoction of exceptional steering precision, agility and stability. The eye-catching and emotionally engaging appearance of the BMW M model is underscored by bespoke flourishes in the body design, and the pronounced sporting character of the new BMW X6 M50i also shines through in its exclusive interior design. Muscular eight-cylinder engine with signature M power delivery and emotionally stirring soundtrack From crankcase to engine management, the engine under the bonnet of the new BMW X6 M50i has been the recipient of sweeping change. The V8 develops maximum output of 390 kW/530 hp from its 4.4-litre displacement between 5,500 and 6,000 rpm. Meanwhile, peak torque of 750 Nm (553 lb-ft) is served up all the way from 1,800 to 4,600 rpm. The instantaneous and sustained serving of full power fits the performance profile for M engines like a glove. That an M power unit will be backed by a suitable aural accompaniment goes without saying. The flap-controlled M Sport exhaust system fitted as standard produces an exhilarating soundtrack to match the engine's prodigious power delivery. The eight-cylinder unit's standout features include the pair of twin-scroll turbochargers nestled in the 90-degree angle between the two banks of cylinders. The new BMW X6 M50i needs just 4.3 seconds to sprint from 0 - 100 km/h (62 mph). Its combined fuel consumption is 10.7 - 10.4 l/100 km (26.4 - 27.2 mpg imp) and combined CO2 emissions come in at 243 - 237 grams per kilometre. Like the BMW xDrive system, the eight-speed Steptronic transmission is tuned specifically to the performance attributes of the V8 engine. The new BMW X6 M50i is fitted as standard with an M Sport differential, ensuring the eight-cylinder engine's impressive power enjoys the smoothest possible transition into dynamic panache. Another technical highlight is the chassis technology - tailored specifically to this model by the BMW M GmbH engineers - which gives the new BMW X6 M50i exceptional agility and precisely controllable handling even when exploring the dynamic limits. A standard element of the chassis' toolkit is Adaptive M suspension, which includes Dynamic Damper Control and air suspension with automatic self-levelling at the rear axle. The electromechanical power steering of the new BMW X6 M50i has an Mspecific configuration and allows the driver to choose between two settings. The new BMW X6 M50i is fitted as standard with 21-inch M light-alloy wheels in twin-spoke design. On the options list, meanwhile, are exclusive M Performance Styling 22-inch twin-spoke light-alloy wheels in Cerium Grey, which further accentuate the visual brawn of the new BMW X6 M50i. Body design with distinctive accents The exterior looks of the new BMW X6 M50i are shaped by aerodynamically optimised body components including a front apron with large air intakes and a rear apron with body-coloured diffuser insert. The BMW kidney grille, the horizontal trim elements in the air intakes and the exterior mirror caps are painted in Cerium Grey, and the model badge at the rear and exhaust tailpipes adopt the same colour. The new BMW X6 M50i comes as standard with black sports seats in Vernasca leather trim and an M Sport leather steering wheel. Needless to say, the illuminated kidney grille is also available as an option for the X6 M50i. Driver assistance systems An extensive selection of standard and optional driver assistance systems mark out the new BMW X6 as an exceptionally innovative Sports Activity Coupe. Fresh from the addition of myriad new functions, the systems enable an effective increase in comfort and safety. They ease the driver's workload in monotonous driving conditions, such as congestion and slow traffic, in particular. And the driver assistance systems in the new BMW X6 also provide the driver with effective assistance in complex driving situations in urban areas, minimising the risk of accident. These systems use camera images and the data gathered by radar and ultrasonic sensors to monitor the area around the car. Deployed as part of the BMW Personal Co-Pilot, the systems represent the latest innovations on the road to automated driving. Standard specification for the new BMW X6 includes Cruise Control with braking function. Another standard feature is the Collision and Pedestrian Warning with City Braking function, which also alerts the driver when a cyclist is detected. The Active Cruise Control system with Stop & Go function available as an option is capable of braking to a standstill then pulling away again automatically once the traffic situation allows. The maximum time that can pass between the car stopping and setting off again automatically is now 30 seconds, making the driver's life that extra bit more comfortable. The speed limits detected by the Speed Limit Info traffic sign recognition system including No Passing Info display can be incorporated into the system's automatic speed modulation, with a preset adjustment of up to 15 km/h (9 mph) possible, if required. Driving Assistant Professional provides a particularly far-reaching helping hand The Driving Assistant Professional is offered as an option for the new BMW X6. This complete package of safety- and comfort-enhancing tech includes both the steering and lane control assistant with Traffic jam assistant and lane keeping assistant with active side collision protection. With the steering and lane control assistant activated, the driver can make use of the Lane Change Assistant on motorways and dual carriageways. To initiate the lane change, the driver simply has to hold the indicator stalk in the required direction. If the system detects that there is space in the adjacent lane and that no other vehicle is approaching at high speed, the driver benefits from helpful steering assistance during the lane change. Another component of the Driving Assistant Professional is the Evasion Assistant (which now also reacts to pedestrians), rear collision warning, road priority warning and wrongway driving warning systems. The package also includes crossing traffic warning and Lane Change Warning, which in its latest version now also provides active steering inputs to bring the vehicle back into the intended lane. The Driving Assistant Professional also hands customers the benefits of the innovative Emergency Stop Assistant. In situations where the driver is, for medical reasons, no longer able to drive the car, the Emergency Stop Assistant can be activated by pulling the electric parking brake switch. Depending on the driving situation and the vehicle's surroundings, the Emergency Stop Assistant will bring the vehicle safely to a standstill either in the current lane, at the edge of the road or on the hard shoulder. Any necessary lane-change manoeuvres can be performed automatically when travelling at 70 - 100 km/h (43 - 62 mph). At the same time, the Emergency Stop Assistant activates the hazard warning lights and the Intelligent Emergency Call function automatically notifies a call centre so the emergency services can be alerted. Parking Assistant: all the help you need into and out of spaces The new BMW X6 adds further breadth to the functional range of numerous assistance systems offering effective parking and manoeuvring support. Standard specification includes active Park Distance Control (PDC) with sensors at both the front and rear. The Parking Assistant enables automatic selection of and manoeuvring into spaces parallel or perpendicular to the road. The system identifies suitable parking spots with the help of ultrasonic sensors as the vehicle drives past. Pressing the button on the centre console initiates the parking process, the Parking Assistant automatically executing the necessary steering inputs, acceleration, braking and gear changes. The Parking Assistant can also back the car automatically out of parallel parking spaces. The innovative reversing assistant, which helps the driver when exiting parking spaces and manoeuvring within a confined space, represents another step en route to automated driving. The system offers the extremely convenient option of automated reversing in multi-storey car parks or entrances to courtyards, for example. To do this, it first stores the steering movements for any section the car has just driven forward along. The system is then able to reverse the vehicle for distances of up to 50 metres by steering it along the same line it took when moving forward. All the driver has to do is operate the accelerator and brake pedals and monitor the area around the car, while the system takes care of steering. The reversing assistant is initiated by pressing a button when the vehicle is stationary and the gear selector is in the "P" position. The steering movements along the line the car has just taken when moving forward are stored for an extended period, so the reversing assistant can offer the driver the convenience of backing their car out of a parking space they drove into the day before. The rear view camera and numerous functions included in Parking Assistant Plus provide drivers with an excellent overview of the situation at hand. The Top View, Panorama View and 3D View features are used to create a 360° image of the vehicle and its surroundings in the Control Display. Meanwhile, the Remote 3D View function allows a threedimensional live image of the driver's vehicle and its immediate vicinity to be sent to their smartphone. Display and operating system, BMW Connected and ConnectedDrive The new BMW X6 comes as standard with the BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant, an intelligent digital character who responds to the prompt "Hey BMW". The BMW Group is revolutionising driving pleasure with the BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant and, in so doing, entering a new era in which drivers will increasingly be able to operate their car and access its functions and information simply by speaking. Added to which, the Intelligent Personal Assistant will also be at the driver's service outside the car - e.g. at home via smart speaker or out and about through their smartphone. The range of functions and skills available will be constantly expanded as part of updates, which can be carried out seamlessly on a smartphone and in-car by Remote Software Upgrade. Choose your name The BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant is there to help the driver. He learns routines and habits, and will be able to apply them in the appropriate context. He notes the driver's preferences and is familiar with their favoured settings - e.g. for the seat heating or the places they drive to frequently using the navigation system. And there is the option of giving him a personally selected name (such as "Charlie"). This is a unique feature over other digital assistants and lends him even greater individuality and personality. He is familiar with the vehicle's functions and is able to operate them as required. The Intelligent Personal Assistant awaits the driver's every command, is always there to assist them and even provides casual conversation. The assistant will benefit from constant technical upgrades and be able to recognise more and more of the driver's preferences and favoured settings. The Intelligent Personal Assistant takes further strides forward with every command given, every question asked and every setting selected. Digital BMW expert and ideal co-driver The arrival of the BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant ensures there is always a genuine BMW professional on board. He is able to explain all sorts of different functions, provide current information, and help answer questions. Plus, he knows the driver's favourite settings, and can combine and activate them. For instance, "Hey BMW, I feel tired" triggers a vitality programme that adjusts the lighting mood, music and temperature, among other things, in order to make the driver feel more awake. The BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant is the ideal co-driver and comes in particularly useful during everyday driving. Indeed, he makes light work of navigation, finding parking spaces at the destination, providing information on traffic jams along the route and searching for cafés in the area if the driver so desires. The assistant's integration into Microsoft Office 365 and Skype for Business transforms the BMW X6 into a mobile office and enables him to join teleconferences at the driver's request. But BMW's Intelligent Personal Assistant is an entertainment expert, too. For example, he can quickly seek out suitable radio stations for the desired music genre. The BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant is included as standard in the new BMW X6 - along with the Live Cockpit Professional - as part of the new BMW Operating System 7.0. The Live Cockpit Professional is included for the first three years. The Connected Package Professional adds a spread of additional functions. BMW Operating System 7.0: geared to the driver's needs The BMW Live Cockpit Professional in the new BMW X6 combines a new display and operating concept with unbeatable connectivity. It includes a high-resolution instrument cluster behind the steering wheel with a screen diagonal of 12.3 inches and a likewise 12.3-inch Control Display. This BMW Live Cockpit Professional also features an adaptive navigation system and a hard-drive-based multimedia system with 20 GB of storage. Two USB ports plus Bluetooth and WiFi interfaces are also present and correct. The driver can be automatically detected and personal settings activated either using the vehicle key or BMW Digital Key. The user can also be selected via the Control Display by entering the correct PIN. The car's built-in SIM card provides unrestricted connectivity. The intelligent connectivity of the new BMW X6 gives the driver access to vehicle apps such as news, weather, office and online search and allows the navigation system's maps to be updated regularly. It also enables use of Intelligent Emergency Call, which automatically summons swift assistance in an emergency. The BMW Live Cockpit Professional and BMW Operating System 7.0 team up in the new BMW X6. The latest generation of the display and operating system offers fully digital displays and is geared even more closely to the driver's personal needs - with the aim of maximising their attention levels. The system's clear presentation and structuring are designed to provide drivers with the right information at the right time, aided further by the customisable and personalised content. The upgraded graphics in the instrument cluster now leave enough room for an excerpt from the navigation map, for instance. In the main menu on the Control Display, the driver is able to create and configure up to ten pages, each showing two to four pads (tiles) with live content. The intuitive multimodal interaction between driver and vehicle has also undergone further improvement. Depending on the situation, the driver can choose from the familiar iDrive Controller, the steering wheel controls, the Control Display's touch control, voice control and BMW gesture control. BMW offers a bundle of digital services in the form of the Connected Package Professional. This makes it easier for customers to select particularly attractive digital services, either when ordering their new BMW X6 or further down the line. The Connected Package Professional includes Remote Services, the Concierge Service and Real Time Traffic Information. Customers can continue to download these digital services individually and at a later date from the BMW ConnectedDrive Store. The smartphone as digital key The BMW Digital Key hands smartphones a new role. Using Near Field Communication (NFC) technology, customers can lock and unlock their car using their smartphone. Accessible via the BMW Connected app, the BMW Digital Key dispenses with the need for a conventional car key. Holding the smartphone up to the door handle opens the car. The engine can then be started as soon as the phone has been placed in the wireless charging or smartphone tray. The BMW Digital Key offers unrivalled flexibility, as the driver can share it with up to five other people. Automatically up to date: Remote Software Upgrade The Remote Software Upgrade feature keeps the car constantly updated with the latest software. The upgrades can be loaded onto a smartphone via the BMW Connected app when connected to a domestic WiFi network or imported directly via the BMW's built-in SIM card, which happens automatically for important vehicle upgrades. This saves customers the trouble of visiting their BMW Service Partner for updates. The Remote Software Upgrade facility therefore maximises flexibility while keeping the car in tune with the latest technology and developments.

The new Mercedes-Benz CLA Coupé is not only the most emotional vehicle in its class, it is also highly intelligent: From MBUX Interior Assist, which recognises operational demands from gestures and equips the interior with intelligence, through augmented reality for navigation and understanding indirect voice commands to the ENERGIZING COACH that provides individual fitness recommendations, the new CLA offers an array of clever solutions. There are also ingenious details when it comes to the aerodynamics and new functions for the Intelligent Drive driving assistance package. The design underlines the coupé character with its stretched form and design elements such as the bonnet with powerdomes or the rear licence plate which has been moved down. As such it does justice to its predecessor’s status as a design icon. With MBUX, Mercedes-Benz has been revolutionising how to operate a car and communicate with it since the launch of the A-Class. “Now we go to the next level with an intelligent interior assistance system for the compact class. By recognising gestures it facilitates natural operation,” says Ola Källenius, Member of the Board of Management of Daimler AG, responsible for Group Research and Mercedes-Benz Cars Development. “This is not the only new feature by which the CLA offers a great deal of automotive intelligence.” “With the first CLA we celebrated a huge success by selling some 750,000 vehicles and created a totally new segment with a four-door coupé,” adds Britta Seeger, Member of the Board of Management of Daimler AG, responsible for Mercedes-Benz Cars Marketing & Sales. “The new edition of the CLA has been developed further in an intelligent way and is even more emotional and sportier than its predecessor. Coupled with new operating systems, it sets new benchmarks for the entire class.” The new generation of compacts has made a key contribution to the rejuvenation and image change of the Mercedes-Benz brand. The CLA is important for winning and retaining new customers in particular. The CLA Coupé was launched in the USA in 2013, making it the first compact MercedesBenz on the American market. At peak times, more than two thirds of CLA buyers in the USA came from competitors. On average, CLA customers in the USA are around ten years younger than the typical MercedesBenz customer. In Europe, too, CLA customers are among the youngest in the Mercedes portfolio. In 2017, one in two customers in Europe previously drove a competitor's vehicle. Over 75 percent of European customers who previously drove a CLA as a coupé or Shooting Brake chose a MercedesBenz again for their next vehicle. In total, some 750,000 units of the first-generation CLA Coupé and CLA Shooting Brake contributed considerably to the compact car's success. In its first year, the new CLA will also be available as an Edition 1. In terms of both the exterior and the interior, this limited edition special model has numerous visual accents which underline its exclusivity. The new CLA will be manufactured at the Kecskemét plant (Hungary) and comes onto the market in May 2019. “As a four-door coupé, the new CLA intrigues with its puristic, seductive design and sets new standards in the design DNA of ‘sensual purity’. It impresses with its perfect proportions reflecting the first design sketch: a long, stretched bonnet, a compact greenhouse, a wide track with exposed wheel arches and our typical GT rear end with a strong distinctive ‘Coke-bottle shoulder’,” says Gorden Wagener, Chief Design Officer of Daimler AG. “In short - the CLA Coupé has the potential to become a modern design icon.” The combination of the long, stretched entry line above the windows and frameless doors give the CLA Coupé its unmistakeable sporty and elegant character. Forming the front end is the striking front section which is raked forwards like a shark nose with a long, stretched bonnet featuring powerdomes. Original article at http://9tro.com/media/news/the-new-mercedes-benz-cla-coupe The 2nd Generation CLA will be officially unveiled at the CES 2019 event at 3am 9th Jan (SG time). Chris Harris says the Mercedes-AMG S63 Coupe is underrated
chitchatboy posted a blog entry in MyAutoBlog
In his latest video for his Chris Harris Drives series, Harris tries to convince us that the Mercedes-AMG S63 Coupe is very much an underrated GT car. We kind of agree with the him as the large luxury coupe often gets overshadowed by the its rivals from Porsche, Bentley and the likes. That being said, he reckons that the big mercedes is nowhere inferior to them as it provides him the perfect combination of speed and comfort. Interestingly, Harris drove a pre-facelift model in his video that is using the older 5.5-litre V8 engine vs the newer 4.0-litre unit found in many current AMGs. We guess it doesn't matter much as both engines are absolute gems. -
2019 Mercedes Benz AMG GT 4 door coupe unveiled http://www.motortrend.com/news/2019-mercedes-amg-gt-four-door-coupe-first-look/ The Mercedes-AMG GT S is a truly fantastic car. It looks great, the interior is gorgeous, and if you drive it hard, it’ll leave you grinning like an idiot for days. Leave the race track behind, and the GT S will also devour long stretches of highway like nobody’s business. If you need a back seat, though, you’re out of luck. The GT S is a true two-seater. At least you used to be out of luck. If Mercedes-AMG is to be believed, the new GT 4-Door Coupe is a legitimate four-door sports car. Design-wise, the GT 4-Door Coupe looks more like the new CLS than the coupe it shares a name with, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. The redesigned CLS is a good looking car, and AMG’s designers did a great job of making sure the four-door GT looks like a proper AMG. Even with unique headlights, a stretched cabin, and a proportionally shorter hood, no one is going to mistake this sedan for a run-of-the-mill Mercedes. Even better, the four-door GT retains the original GT’s rear hatch for an added dose of practicality. Inside, it’s a similar story. The four-door GT’s cabin borrows lots of styling from other modern Mercedes sedans, but it does get a few unique design cues. The wide center console, for example, looks like an updated version of the one found in the original GT coupe. Depending on which package buyers choose, the four-door GT’s interior can either look like a luxury sedan with its quilted leather and wood trim, or it can double down on the sportiness with carbon fiber trim, yellow seatbelts, contrast stitching, and sports seats. European buyers will have the option of a four-passenger or five-passenger version, but in the U.S., only the four-seat configuration will be available. For most buyers, the four-door GT’s performance will likely be the most important factor, and at least on paper, AMG definitely delivers. All versions get torque-vectoring all-wheel drive and a nine-speed AMG automatic transmission, and there are three different levels of power. The base version, the GT 53, gets a turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six good for 429 hp and 384 lb-ft of torque. Like the CLS 53, the GT 53 uses a mild hybrid system that contributes 21 hp and 184 lb-ft of torque, allowing it to hit 60 mph in an estimated 4.4 seconds. Step up to the mid-level GT 63, and the 4.0-liter twin-turbo V-8 makes 577 hp and 553 lb-ft of torque, good for a 3.3-second run to 60 mph, according to AMG. The GT 63 S tops the lineup with 630 hp and 627 lb-ft of torque from the same V-8. It’s also the quickest of the three, needing only 3.1 seconds to hit 60 mph. Keep going, and the GT 63 S has a top speed of 195 mph, 21 mph faster than the GT 53’s max of 174 mph. To make sure the four-door GT could hold its own on a race track, AMG says it engineered an exceptionally stiff chassis, even using a rear anti-roll bar from the GT R. The six-cylinder version uses steel springs and adaptive dampers, and the V-8s get AMG’s multi-chamber air suspension for even sportier handling. The all-wheel-drive system is rear-biased, and on the GT 63 S, it even includes a standard drift mode that completely disengages the front wheels. Drift mode is also available as an option on the regular GT 63. Both 63s come standard with a limited-slip differential and rear-wheel steering, as well. For even better handling, AMG gave the GT an active aero package. Up front, engineers borrowed the GT R’s electronically controlled louvers to manage airflow, while a multi-stage rear spoiler adjusts itself depending on how the car is being driven. In a straight line, the spoiler lowers to minimize wind resistance, but in a corner, it raises to increase downforce and improve handling. No information on pricing is available at the moment, but expect Mercedes to announce that closer to the GT’s on-sale date. For the GT 63 and 63 S, that’s scheduled to be early next year, with the GT 53 not going on sale until mid-2019.

With 113,066 units of the Mustang sold in 2018, Ford's coupe gets to keep its World’s Best-Selling Sports Coupe title for the fourth straight year. Ford announced the news on the eve of its 55th anniversary that sales in Europe went up by more than 27% so far in 2019 and its market share increased by half a point for 2018 over the previous year, reaching 15.4%. Thanks to the new Bullitt variant, 75,842 units were sold in the U.S. while 2,323 Mustangs found homes in the U.K., representing an increase of 5% over 2017. According to Ford, the Mustang was sold in 146 countries in 2018 and over 500,000 sixth-generation models have been sold globally since 2015. “We broke the mould when Ford launched the Mustang 55 years ago,” said Jim Farley, Ford president of global markets. “Nothing says freedom, the wind in your hair and the joy of driving like Mustang; it’s an icon. The roar of its V8 on a spring day, there’s nothing better. No wonder it’s the most popular sports coupe in the world.”
