Hi bros, as you know, when car gets older and cat becomes dirty, the exhaust flow also less efficient and results in lower power and higher fuel consumption. What do you guys do then, short of buying a newer car or changing to a new LEGAL cat?

Currently I'm using Any Video Converter but this software has limitation, if the input file has error in some of its frames, the audio and video will go out of sync during the conversion. Are there software that are smart enough to skip the error? http://www.any-video-converter.com/support...top_10_faqs.php

Hi all, I'm driving a 07 avante. Just yesterday my engine light came on and I sent down to Komoco to see what's wrong. It was diagnosed to be a catalytic converter issue. My mileage is only at 97k km and always been using unleaded petrol. Anyone else has this issue?
-
Hi bros, will greatly appreciate your advice regarding removal of catalytic converter. My engine warning light is being triggered on every 200km or 2 days after i reset ECU to wipe out engine warning light by removing fuses for ECU in fuse box. Recently undergone top overhaul to remove blown gasket and loose piston ring. Ran 1000km thus far since top overhaul. Mechanic advised me engine warning light come on could be due to lubricants used in engine during top overhaul job, causing excess exhaust fumes which overwhelmn catalytic converter. Advised me that if engine warning light symtoms persists after 3 or 4 tankfuls of Techron petrol to wash out lubricants and still engine warning light on, then it must be catalytic converter spoil according to diagnostics test and need to spend 1k+ to fix. Song Yi, authorised stockist for my Hyundai Accent 1.5m quoted me $1450 include air freight from Korea for catalytic converter, so shop is not chopping me. It's parts expensive. My query is rgd removal of catalytic converter, will this cause further problems to smooth and safe running of engine? My understanding is this will "Tong" the exhaust, perhaps drop FC and risk TP fine (which I shall risk), but should solve my engine warning light problem. Mech advised that remove catalytic converter will affect CO2 emissions and may cause Engines Warning Light to keep coming on. Is this true? Am i being sold a con job?

Heard it will improve your car breathing but of course with a price to pay,The CO emission and some say fc a bit high if u floor every time.Any advice? My friends Exora and Civic pick up improve ever since he remove all that

Hi guys, I need help.. Very recently, my 06 sonata give me problems. Ytd while I was driving from Bukit batok to Suntec, midway there, the engine starts to vibrate and keep dying when it is idling in jams. I restarted my car alot of time and the same cycle keep on repeats itself again, and the engine checklight keep blinking. After 3-4 mins , the condition start to improve, so i drove it down to komoco service centre at alexendra road, nothing happen while on my way there, it was very smooth(no engine light, no vibration etc). At komoco motors, they did a dignostic check and they change my spark plug as they tell me it causes the problem. So, i let them change. I collected my car on that day and no problem surface up during my journey home. But this morning , while i was driving, the engine checklight come out again ( but no vibration and dying ), i was worry so i drove the car back to komoco again. After they did a error code check, and they found out my cataylic converter is damage and causes the checklight to come out. They told me in order to replace the catalylic converter, i will need to wait for a week or 2 for the stock to arrive from korea and the replacement charge is 2k excluding labour. Right now i am very confuse, i called up my friend and he told me it was due to i pump the nearest shell near woodload causeway malaysia petrol and he told me his audi has this same problem before. My friend also recommend me to pump full tank singapore petrol and monitor the situation. After that i called up komoco and verify but they say it is not malaysia petrol that causes this problem, they told me it is due to high mileage of my car. My question now is should i listen to my friend and continue driving with the engine checklight on or should i change the cataylic converter? And does anyone encounted the same problem as me before and can share ur experience with me?

Got this thing or not? can convert our speedometer to digital one?

Hi Does any bro know where I can get this adapter? Can't find them, at least not from the DIY and hardware shops I have been to. Thanks

Was at Toa Payoh on Sunday around 10am++. Saw this small crowd at one particular outlet. I don't think its because that a new shipment of new and cheap goods has arrived and people are queuing patiently to buy!

Used to rely on the Turtlewax "Rust converter" to remove rusty areas on my COE 120Y. The solution is milky white in color, and would react with the rust and turn it black. According to the packing, the treated area will not rust again. Proven to be quite true. Now that many COE cars are gone, I don't seem to be able to find the "Rust converter" anymore. It used to be available at the premium (ie expensive) DIY shops like Homefix. Visited Selfix at White Sands earlier, and all the counter girl could say was "har?" when I asked her about the product. Anyone knows where to can I get the "Rust converter"? IIRC it cost S$10-15. Managed to find an old bottle at my mum's storeroom, but it was all dried up.

Hi All, I'm driving a Hyundai and recently felt the FC went up. Car is around 4 years old. Have been regularly servicing it without fail with air filter cleaning. Would like to focus the discussion to CAT Converters only. Is there a lifespan to it? Is it possible it's due for change? I heard that the "burning" of unspent fuel with cause the material to breakdown and eventually block the CAT. Any recommendations on where to get it changed and how much? Thanks in advance.

intend to use hi/lo converter from the built-in stock hu to the 701 processor at the boot. my question is: do u place the hi/lo as close to the hu infront or to the processor at the boot? if the hi/lo is placed nearer to the hu, i will need a 5m rca to the 701. if the hi/lo is placed nearer to the 701 at the boot, the rca length will be shorter. which option is better? longer rca if hi/lo is infront or longer cable if hi/lo is at the boot. thanks.

Bro Koolaba, just a question, in trying your excellent fuel "stretching" method I am managing quite well in my fc. When I am on 5th gear or sometimes even 3rd gear when I release the accelerator the car will show 0.0 L/KM this is when the torque convertor is disengaged and no fuel is being pushed to the engine? Because immediately after that at a slow speed it will start to go up again. (Not sure if I explained it clearly) So why does it do that? Attached is a pic of my improvements in FC.Usually it is 540km of fuel available, it has incrementally been stretching the distance.

Hi guys pls correct me if I'm wrong. The high low converter is used to convert the amplified signals from the stock HU into un-amplified (line?) signals and into RCA cable connector, so that I can just directly output line signals from the HU and let my amp do the amplification right? Recently did an install on my stock Civic HU, and installler put in a high low converter. I've also installed an active sub, and now I'm wondering how they connected my sub.. Reason I'm asking is because previously without the installs, my stock speakers seem to be playing the mid bass quite nicely, but now it seems like only my sub is playing the lower frequencies - and I don't get nice mid bass anymore.. Thanks!

Trying to install factory fitted HU to amps via speaker signal cables. What are the available options?

will removing my cat converter causes me to lose my low end power? will it make my exhaust louder?
-
Can anyone enlighten me for vehicles with 2 sensors on th cat area( before n after ), is it a must to remove the sensor after the cat converter? Thanks in advance!
-
On most of our rides, the Cat converter is fitted at the exhaust manifold/outlet thus creating bottleneck and alot of heat in the engine bay. Does it helps to relocate the Cat to the bottom and by doing this will free the bottleneck as well as the heat...??? What do you think guys? Thank you...

Hi Guys... Read on the net about this item. Universal -Power fuel converter. It is a hi tech compact magnetic assembly designed to enhance fuel conbustion and can reduce fuel consumption by 5%. . the price also seems ok. Wonder how good is it or any bro using it? how does it compare to superione? Thnxs..

There are 2 ways the catalytic converter degrades. 1. You operated and the catalytic converter is no more. 2. You used engine oil that is very high in ZDDP and your engine suffered a blow-by releasing this additive in large amounts into the cat. Either way, the cat will die. One by murder, one by slow death. When a cat degrades, the downstream oxygen sensor signals to the ECU. The ECU responds by increasing fueling and retard the ignition. This means you lose power AND have poorer FC. You have been warned.
