I went to Mal very often and wish to get an international license as i need to drive Mal Vehicle there. was told by their LTA (JPJ) that Singaporean license can only use on Singaporean registered plate in malaysia.... Can anyone pls advise? -

I read in the news that to drive for grab or uber, no longer need to register a new business to go to LTA and convert my car to Z10. now can convert to Z10 with your own name, no business. Anyone done it or know how to do it to convert to Z10 for grab uber? thanks in advance!

My uncle Toyota Corona is 20yrs old on this coming May and he finally decided to renew 10yrs COE if able to convert to OPC. We've qsn to ask here and need your advise otherwise opinion. Can this car be converted to OPC? Are we eligible for the $17K rebate? This mth PQP for Cat A is $65,607 if after the OPC rebate, he only require to pay $48,607 which means yearly dep is only $4,860.70 Anyone here has done the conversion?

Many modern cars in Singapore only come with automatic transmission (e.g. BMW, Mercedes, Cefiro, Nissan March 1.4 (K12)). I am wondering if it is possible to convert the transmission from automatic to manual. Will such conversion be approved by LTA, is it a diffcult process and how much would it typically cost to do so? -
Due to change in lifestyle (change of workplace and shifts,wife giving birth,need to send wife n baby to&fro to parents house,etc),would it be advisable if I were to convert my 5yr old OPC honda airwave or to change to a 2nd hand normal plate car? If i were to convert,it would cost me around 7k. I have yet go to 2nd hand dealers to check out the market. Brand new is totally out of range as COE right now is . my car condition is running fine with no problems. Can any experienced bros here give their valued advice? So if change to normal plate,will I get a pro rated PARF when i scrap..? Many thks in advance for your kind honest advice.

Convert OPC to normal, the top up amount go to where? Will the prorated $17K amount you pay to convert go back to become your OMV and COE immediately? Or will your OMV/COE still remain as OPC value? -

Hello to all, I've got a question which I've been thinking.. Assuming I wish to convert my car on 14 Jan 2013. LTA will pro-rate me and require me to top up e.g. $7000. And from today 3 Dec 2012 to 14 Jan 2013, there are 4 days which I can drive without using the $20 coupon namely Xmas eve, Xmas day, New Year eve, and New Year day (I'm under the New Revision scheme). My question is does this $7000 take into consideration already of the 4 days which I can drive say to say, free on the roads for LTA's formula to derive this $7000 to charge me? In other words, if I convert e.g. tomorrow, then I "loo-gi" these 4 days of free usage since LTA is going to charge me from today and they are not going to consider the upcoming 4 days of free usage which I can enjoy? Err, am I making any sense to the bros here? Bottomline is this: Should I be converting my OPC to normal plate before or after public holidays? Thanks in advance for the advice!!

Looking for advice here.... I got a job offer which comes with company van. But I now headache with my current ride. If I take up the job offer, means I will park my car at the Mscp unless need to go out with my parents together. Wondering if I should sell off my car to pocket the cash or convert to OPC and pay the installments while leaving the car heavily underused.

Hi all, I intend to convert my parents OPC to normal plate. they are retired and will be using the car for sending/fetching grand children to school. what are the steps involved? i have called insurer, they have advised accordingly. i went one motoring, have gotten the calculation for how much to pay. what about stuff like car plate ? will LTA remove the OPC seal on the car plate?

background: i started new work in town and it's more convenient for me to take MRT I currently own a bike and also a Honda fit 08 (bought in 2008 nov, coe was $11k) since I dun drive during weekday, i was wondering if I should sell the car, or to convert to OPC. advise needed here. 1) is it only $100 to convert from normal to OPC? how much to pay for the RED number plate? 2) is it right that the Insurance is only slightly cheaper for OPC? and not like half price? 3) I read that I can get back up to $1100 every half yearly, how is this calculated? cos 20 X $1100 is already 22k in total 4) any complication if I wanna convert back to normal car like in 2 years ? (maybe change of job? or new gf wanna drive to work?) 5) if I wanna sell my car, i only get a few k more than the paper value right? meaning, the buyer will gain since my COE so cheap. thanks for any advise...

Ok I admit I am a FT which some Singaporeans hate cos we take away jobs etc. Fact is that I have been here since Sec3 and after Uni, I worked here being bonded and have been here for more than 20 years. Most of my adult life has been here so in sense, I suppose I am Singaporean at heart. Then why am I not a fully fledged Singaporean you ask? Well sentimentality is 1 reason, 2nd reason is that I dont know if I can afford to retire here. Singapore is getting more & more expensive. Things are affordable when you have a job, when you retire what do you do here? Just wait to die slowly using ur CPF? I dont have any kids which is good and bad, which means in my old age there is no one to steal my property or help give my living allowances( do children here give their parents?) MM says we can and should work as long we are healthy. The fact is that when you are older, slower & expensive, many companies would rather take in a cheaper young, faster employee. So I dont wanna be a burden. I was thinking I can convert what I have into northern currency and stay in some highlands waiting for my eventual demise. Medical care is of far lower standard but a lot cheaper...anyway once you are old medical care cant really help much. Yet I would in a sense have to restart my life all over again & make new friends( anyway dont have much friends here haha). I have few relatives here & there but no one i need to be responsible for. Naturally I feel comfortable in Sg since being here so long and sometimes when I see the younger Singaporeans complain this & that or gripe over small things, I think to myself, if only they knew what is like like to be a country which your Govt cant care two hoots about you to even borther about your complains and in fact try to place you in a disadvantaged position! Sg is not the perfect utopia but its not Hell on Earth, the Govt tries..maybe that what counts? Anyway cut long story short, GCT says I should convert to Singaporean( I am not sure why converting is any benefit to the Sg govt..I still pay the same taxes?), Wife say she wants to retire in Cameron Highland( told her very boring there long term..well maybe old age is boring anyway). So here I am at a crossroads middle aged salary worker so what do you guys say/think?

Im driving a Honda Fit 2008 now. Bought last year May. Due to my change of job, im now working at raffles place which has insane carpark rate, therefore i'm taking train to work daily and seldom drives. If i were to change my car to weekend car, how will the rebate will be like? (what happen to the additional 17k)?? Need some advise pls Thanks

Hi all, Which one would you guys consider ?? Its a very tough choice for me. Just can't get over the looks of the S5, its so damn nice and sexy and command much more presence...but i suspect i will get tired of it's looks in future.especially the front grille when my friend comments it look like a big hamburger the other day and the kidneys from BMW are timeless.. (okay, he's a beemer's fan all the way) But for now, i can't stop looking at one, esp one coming up in my rear view mirror with those georgeous running lights. 335i lose out slightly in 0-100km/h but doesnt matter to me, jujst much prefer the way the power is deliver frm the twin turbo engine. and it handles better, ( If S5 cab comes with V8 s-tronics, then its gonna be a very tough call ) 3 series convert looks seem quite dated now and i am sure it doesn't really turn much heads anymore..

Did a montage using windows movie maker.... i checked and it seems i need to convert it to .vob so that can play on normal dvd player..... it is for my wedding... Can anyone tell me what software to use? Free would be best but if need to buy from funan i also dun mind. Need it urgently. Anyone can help? Thanks
