The study was carried out by an Australian private survey company. Results? 61% for P*P, 39% for Oppo (with a margin of error of +/-3.6% at 90% Confidence). Uncanny how they knew the results pretty much dead-on before any of us crossed a single voting slip, isn't it? To me the most interesting thing is the graphic on page 10 ("How voters feel about the parties"), showing that the WP essentially has the same "positive" rating (55%) as the P*P, but less "negative" rating. In other words, the WP was actually viewed as a *better* party on balance than the P*P. Well, well, well. If WP does very well in this term, there's some real hope for the next GE. But I think the best candidates from the other parties need to unite under the Hammer to stand a really good chance.

No conclusion yet to ACS (I) saga By Satish Cheney | Posted: 09 October 2010 1943 hrs SINGAPORE: The saga involving Dr Ong Teck Chin, the former principal of Anglo-Chinese School (Independent), has been the talk of the town in the last few days. But for now and even next week, an outcome is unlikely, according to Mr Chandra Mohan from law firm Rajah and Tann, who is on the school's board of governors. It is believed that the board met on Saturday to look into a complaint against Dr Ong. It has been a tough time for Dr Ong. Two days after news broke about his sudden resignation as principal of ACS (I) and a complaint lodged against him, Dr Ong was brought by ambulance to hospital for breathing problems on Wednesday. Dr Ong, who had multiple bypass surgery two years ago, was discharged from the National University Hospital on Friday. It is believed that Dr Ong is back at his home at the ACS boarding house in Dover Road. When asked about the complaint against Dr Ong, former chairman of the ACS board of governors, Tan Wah Thong, said: "Let us be neutral and listen to both sides of the story." Dr Ong had been at the helm of ACS (I) since 1994 and under his watch, the school has grown to become one of the top educational institutions in Singapore. There are similiar incidents about 'grave mistake' that had happened before like the recent Nicholl Highway collapse. Drawing from that incident, the CEO of LTA had to leave and was 'transferred'!... but the MiniStar of Transport was not 'touched' then So taking from that cue, WKS also should not be touched..right? But the poll here is on the Director of ISD.... Should the Director of ISD be subjected to the same decision as the LTA incident?
