I am sure that there are few greater pleasures in this world than KBBQ. Don't get me wrong, the Koreans produce plenty of high-quality stuff: The world of battery technology, electronics, cosmetics, and er, their K-pop groups (I guess) all speak to the dizzying ambitions of the great nation. But I think many will agree that there is likewise something ephemeral in the pleasure of being able to cook and stuff your face for $24.99 an hour. Perhaps its that fact that you sit cossetted in the knowledge that you got a decent deal anyhow, and is thus immune from buyer's remorse once you're full, or maybe it's the fact that for the next hour, you are empowered over your own gluttony, free at will to toe that sublime division between excess and restrain. Whatever it may be, if you, as I myself often do, find yourself in need of cheap transportation to hop from restaurant to restaurant, Ssangyong has the perfect solution for you. Ssangyong needs the facelifted Tivoli to do well. On the international front, Dacia has already firmly established itself as the go-to frills-free brand, and Nissan's all new Juke is once again raring at the heels of the compact crossover segment. But more importantly, think of this facelift as the initial assault, a market acid test if you will, before Ssangyong's more expensive offerings such as the Korando makes it to our shores. So, the headlines first: The new Tivoli comes into the competitive and crowded segment with a new, 161bhp turbocharged four-cylinder unit hot enough to fire up any BBQ joint. Combined with its 260Nm torque output, the Tivoli will be able to see off what will be local close-rivals the Honda HR-V and Toyota C-HR. Sweet. But better still, the facelifted car also now sports refreshed head lights and integrated fog lamps which manage to lift the look of the entire car into something that is do I dare say, handsome? (Edit: Those that have seen how I dress on our parent site best cast doubts on my aesthetic judgement!) Step inside and you will find space aplenty even for four with pork-bellied stomachs. Opt for the deluxe spec car and you also find a new central 8.0-inch infotainment display that comes with Apple Carplay and Android Auto compatibility. Abundant use of gloss black in the interior means you will struggle to keep contact points clean from your greasy fingers, but do will to lift the perceived quality of the entire cabin, which is, once again, pretty sweet, especially considering that you're still looking at a $109,888 car (price as of press time). I cover all this in the full review here. But since there is less nannying when it comes to blog posts I shall take the opportunity to speak more freely here. The car needs polishing. To drive at speed, the car makes its high kerb weight and centre of gravity felt, running wide far earlier than you would expect. Quick lane change manoeuvres are met with that sickening sensation that your bum is no longer travelling in the direction your arms have intended, and the suspension has no qualms about constantly making itself heard over bumps. That new engine may be a riot, but it sure as hell sounds like one when climbing into the rev range. Which is all a damm shame. Like finding out your favorite haunt no longer serves fresh entrees. I wanted the Tivoli to do well, mostly because for a while there it seemed like they were starting the make the right noises here and here, and diversity is the spice of life right? Still, its important to remember that this is only a facelifted model. Come 2020, we dig into the meat proper and see the firm's latest efforts. I'm already hungry for more.

The Macan is the sixth model in Porsche's lineup, and will sit just below the Cayenne in the family hierarchy. Conceived to be the 'sports car' of its segment, the new Macan embodies the sporting DNA of the Stuttgart automaker. The base variant features a 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine - the smallest in Porsche's current lineup - and packs 237bhp. But at $218,888 (w/o COE), do you think the Macan 2.0 is a good buy?

Didn't see any thread on this so start one. http://2017cars.news/2016-toyota-ch-r/ Seems like the arrival of this car is quite confirmed and soon (1Q17?) with Vin Car already posting info and "estimated prices" on thie FB page. This might actually be my first Toyota and would likely end Vezel's domination. Would have preferred a 1.6T option instead of QQ-like 1.2T though....

Toyota's three-door C-HR Concept unvieled at the Paris Motorshow
Deeq posted a blog entry in MyAutoBlog
Toyota has revealed a radical high-riding sports coupe concept ahead of its official unveiling at the Paris motor show next week. The Japanese brand has released two images but limited details of its C-HR concept, a car that is said to preview a new compact SUV destined for production. While its sleek three-door body hints at what a jacked-up next-generation Toyota 86 could look like, the C-HR is bound to be a more conventional five-door when it eventually becomes showroom ready as a model to sit below the popular RAV4 and a rival for the likes of the Nissan Juke, Peugeot 2008 and Renault Captur. It has yet to confirm full details on the car's mechanical underpinnings or powertrain, but says it will feature a hybrid powerplant and introduce a new "diamond architecture" styling theme. It says the C-HR's soft overall form is contrasted by definitive crease lines "to represent the faceted surfaces of a highly-durable, precision-cut gemstone". Although Toyota says the C-HR shares the mechanics of a Prius, it hasn't yet revealed much in the way of technical details. Only three basic dimensions of the two-door vehicle are specified: a length of 4350mm, a width of 1500mm and height of 2640mm. This suggests that this future SUV will be smaller than the current Toyota RAV4.- 5 comments

Peugeot gave us a preview of the SUV body style of the 208 hatchback at the 2012 Beijing Motor Show. Called the Urban Crossover Concept, the production version is set to go on sale in Europe and Asia in the growing market for small SUV-styled cars such as the Nissan Juke. Now, photos of the production model, which is called the 2008, have been circulating on the internet. The styling of the 2008 stays close to the concept version. The dimensions of the Peugeot 2008 is expected to be similar to the concept, which measures 4.14m long by 1.74m wide. The uniquely styled headlights and C-shaped chroming around the fog lamps are nice touches at the front. Engine specifications are not available at the moment but it would be safe to assume that it will share the same range of diesel and petrol engines with the 208. The range-topper should be powered by the familiar 154bhp 1.6-litre THP motor that is propelling practically every single Peugeot model. The French SUV will make its world premiere at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show.

The next generation Kia Sportage compact SUV has been given away through a series of designs that were made for the European Union's patent office. These patent images could be depicting an almost production-ready study destined for either the Geneva Salon in March or the Seoul Motor Show in April. Like all Kias penned under the guiding hand of former Audi designer Peter Schreyer, the new Sportage is a much more attractive proposition than the outgoing model. The "Schreyer grill" that made its debut in the highly successful Kia Forte continues to grace the facial of the new Sportage. It looks neat and tidy to me as compared to the more complicated facial of its distant cousin, the Hyundai Tuscon. The new Sportage is expected to share its drivetrain with the Tuscon, meaning that the 2L 166bhp (mated to a six speed automatic transmission) motor will eventually be powering the upcoming SUV.
