  1. Quite a healthy lifestyle, never over or under weight all my life. Don't drink or smoke and does half marathon runs weekly. Recently I had a bad issue of upper right back pain (close to spine C7 or T1) and right chest pain (close to Sternum, slightly higher than nipple). Sometimes the pain can extend all the way to the back of my upper right arm and behind the armpit. Saw 2 doctors, took Xrays of right chest and all just gave me anti inflammatory medicine and muscle rub. Breathing is painful, deep breaths are even worse. Many times the pain feels worse after waking up from sleep (why is that so?) Doctors told me it should be cartilage of the ribs and back muscles that are inflamed and overworked. Took the medicine for 2 months and the medication doesn't seem to work. Occasionally it seems to bring down the pain but it will come right back soon after (even without me exercising). Have anybody here deal with this type of pain and how did you manage to overcome the problem? Thanks in advance.
  2. As someone from low income background, I never pay attention to Mercedes cars throughout my growing up years. My first glimpse of a Mercedes car was when I went my classmate's house when I was primary 1 and saw this beautiful car with pointed star outside his house, and also saw washing machines and big television and a lot of loose change in his house. Strangely I did not feel bad about myself then, though I did feel bad about myself after a few years when I became aware of this social divide and recalled this incident haha.. Ok fast forward to now. Recent years I can't help but notice that Mercedes cars look alike internally especially the front part around the dashboard and the door knobs. It is about almost the same look, from the lowly A class to the mighty S class with the same design language. I know nowadays the design will propagate from S class to A class upwards then to all the other models progressively. I attach a few pictures to illustrate the point. There are slight differences with a few car models as they are undergoing slight facelift, and expected to be the same when they undergo full model change later. Has it always been like that? I have not seen other car makers adopting such a approach, so extensively. Frankly after seeing a few, I really have no appetite for another Mercedes if it looks the same despite external differences. Please share your comments if you have anything on this. Rest assured I am not talking bad about Mercedes cars. I admire this company a lot. Cheers

  4. After yrs of nagging my hubby to be more considerate to others when he parks, I finally made my own boo-boo last night. Ard 10+ last night at Tampines, the bend beside the MRT station, the position which I parked just nice prevented the IKEA shuttle bus from making the turn. I had originally not parked there. Very ironically, I had shifted my car forward from my original parking position, thinking that my original parking position would make it difficult for the van parked almost adjacent to me to exit later. And thus ended up in that fateful position. I don't know why, but I guess I just wasn't thinking too clearly at the time. The bus did not occur to me at the time. As I was going to be off for only 10-15 min, put on my hazard lights and left. The shuttle bus hadn't arrived at that time. Then when I came back, saw to my horror that the bus was stuck and a few vehicles behind it. Was honestly apologetic and wanted to move off ASAP to clear the mini-jam, but was prevented and verbally abused by the bus driver and another driver and his passenger for a few minutes. Not that I blame them though. All I could say was sorry. No point making excuses for my lapse in thinking and judgement. After finally moving off, and going some distance already, the driver of a white van beside me (who was probably stuck earlier too) drove up beside me, wound down his windows, asked why I parked there and verbally abused me, then before I could even respond or apologise, revved hard and drove off. This incident really bothered me, because I am the type who always tries to straighten my car or make sure my car is parked in the centre of the lot or at least balanced out between the cars beside, even if it takes a few adjustments. It bothered me from last night til this morning, I was still feeling bad about it. Finally decided to post it here to get it off my chest, despite knowing that I'll probably attract more abuse and labels of "parking idiot". To the bus driver and the vehicles stuck behind who may be reading this, I sincerely apologise again. I thought of writing an email to IKEA to ask them not to penalise the bus driver for his late arrival and explain that the situation was my fault. I'm not sure if they actually penalise but I suppose the management would be unhappy if the bus did not meet schedule? Is it necessary to do so? Thanks for reading. I just had to get this off my chest.
