On Wednesday (27 May), however, a traffic police officer was apparently seen at the void deck of an HDB block in what appears to be a rather bizarre incident. While netizens couldn’t help but wonder how he ended up in the predicament, one witness apparently said that the officer had skidded and crashed while chasing after another bike. Police bike apparently skidded at Ang Mo Kio void deck Based on the pictures, the incident apparently happened near Block 619 along Ang Mo Kio Ave 4. In one of the images uploaded on the SG Road Vigilante Facebook group, a traffic police motorbike was seen toppled over at an HDB void deck. A man wearing the traffic police attire was seen nearby, appearing to be speaking and gesturing to another person. The surroundings were filled with streaks of water, which could’ve contributed to the incident. A crowd had also formed at the scene, presumably of people staying around the area. At least 4 police cars and motorcycles were also seen parked near the HDB block. Police officer apparently gave chase to another bike A witness who stays near the block told MS News that she heard a “loud acceleration noise” followed by the sound of glass shattering. According to her, the traffic police officer was chasing after another motorcycle at around 4pm on Wednesday (27 May) when he skidded at the void deck. She added that the vicinity was wet as there were allegedly cleaning works going on at the time. With everyone encouraged to stay home due to the ongoing coronavirus , life must be quiet dull for most. However, we are pretty sure the motorcyclist at the traffic light didn't find his last friday bland at all... 92a4c569-89c1-4c7c-81f8-f298494e1650.MP4 Shot in an unknown heavy vehicle, the footage clearly shows a wild white truck doing a quick lane change at a traffic junction that has just turned red along Jurong Town Hall Road. From the video, we thought the poor biker would be bulldozed by the truck but amazingly, the truck managed to avoid crashing into it! Seconds later, viewers can see a police car coming to a stop abruptly with its tyres screeching on the bottom of the video, suggesting to us that the white truck might have been running away from the cops. According to the comments on Complaint Singapore, the police were apparently trying to arrest the driver in the truck and this was a drug-related case. Maybe more should heed this netizen's comment whereby it is better to stop in front of a vehicle that has already come to a complete stop at the lights... -

The suspect, a 37-year-old man, was believed to have stolen a lorry belonging to a pipe maintenance company located at Ubi Road 3. What he did not know, was that the vehicle was installed with a Global Positioning System (GPS) that allowed its whereabouts to be tracked. Mr Shaik Nazeemuddin, general manager of the company which owns the vehicle, told The Straits Times that the lorry was being driven by the firm's technician before it was reported missing. The technician had parked the vehicle outside his flat at Ubi Avenue 1 sometime after 10am when he went for a toilet break. Though he locked the lorry, the man left the key on a table beside his door. When the technician came out, he found both the key and lorry missing. When alerted that the lorry had been stolen, he jumped into his Madza 3 with two other employees and drove to Changi Road North where the lorry's position had been tracked on the GPS system. It was then that the police entered the chase as officers from the Bedok Police Division spotted the lorry travelling along Upper Changi Road North, towards the direction of Changi Prison. They trailed the lorry onto the Pan Island Expressway and East Coast Parkway before getting onto the AYE. But the getaway ended just after the Alexander Road exit, where the lorry collided with several other vehicles. A spokesman from the Singapore Civil Defence Force said that the suspect was found trapped in the driver's seat and had to be rescued using a hydraulic spreader. He was then arrested and taken to Changi General Hospital. There were no other casualties in the incident but the highway drama resulted in a massive jam which slowed traffic down for hours.

I was looking around for a used car and the car salesman said HDB will not chase offenders for parking fines.. I checked and saw that some cars has multiple fines dating back 3yrs not paid.. Strange..

According to a report on Shin Min Daily News, the incident took place on Friday night (Jun 6) at around 11pm, along Bukit Timah Road towards Bukit Panjang. The driver of of the red Ferrari, Mr Liu, said he had stopped at a traffic light at a road junction after exiting the PIE. From his rear mirror, he saw a motorcycle in the middle of two lanes approaching and it scratched the left side of his Ferrari. The 35-year-old businessman then rolled down his windows and told the female biker to stop by the side of the road after the junction, so that he could examine the damage on his car. She agreed. When the lights turned green, the female biker started to move off slowly. Mr Liu thought she would stop. However, not only did she not stop, the motorcyclist started to increase her speed. Mr Liu gave chase for about 2km, only to see the woman being flung off her bike -- which was sliding on the ground -- after losing control. Shocked, he got off his sports car to help her. Mr Liu checked for injuries, then called for an ambulance and the police. The biker was still conscious but was unable to speak. According to Mr Liu, there were multiple abrasions on her arms. Mr Liu said he does not plan the pursue the 5cm scratch on his Ferrari as the damage was not as serious as he had expected it to be. GALL

A 31-year old Singaporean driver had two police vehicles hot on his wheels in a 15km high-speed chase on Monday night, which spanned from around Punggol West to Shenton Way. He was eventually nabbed for driving while under disqualification, and for his rash act. The police had been conducting an operation along the Kallang-Paya Lebar Expressway (KPE) when the man's car whizzed past. He was found to be speeding, but did not stop when signalled to do so by the police. Instead, he stepped on the gas and sped off. The police began their pursuit, which started along the KPE around Punggol West and moved to the East Coast Parkway (ECP). The chase ended after the car turned into a carpark along Prince Edward Road around Shenton Way, and the driver found himself cornered by the two police vehicles. A Singaporean businessman led police on a 20km car chase when he tried to flee after failing to bribe them on Sunday. In the 11.30pm incident, the 50-year old suspect, driving a Mercedes Benz, was headed to Singapore when he tried to cut the vehicle queue at the Bangunan Sultan Iskandar Customs, Immigration and Quarantine complex (CIQ), obstructing other vehicles in the process. Two police traffic officers on duty at the CIQ complex then tried to take him to the nearest police station. However, the man then got agitated and refused to cooperate, and offered a RM550 (S$213) bribe to Lance Corporal Awang Mohd Massahdi Awang Abunawas and Lance Corporal Mashri Sedek, said the officers. Car chases or pursuits have always been something of my favourite, whether they involve the police or not. As a matter of fact, that's one reason why I love movies like 'Transporter' (starring famous actor Jason Statham) and 'The Fast and The Furious'. With that being said, if you're like me, then the following video should be of your interest, too, somehow. I found it quite interesting, at least while waiting for the 'Fast and Furious 7' - which will also star Jason Statham - to be released in theatres in July 2014. The video was shot by - a pretty creative Japanese guy, I would say - someone known as LUXE37 on YouTube. While car chases will normally endanger human life, this one puts no harm on anyone at all. It's because the video was shot in a miniature retro Japanese city. Not only is the city retro, even all the automobiles involved seem retro as well. It seems like the automobiles used were those that came from the 80s, if not the 70s. However, being shot in a miniature city doesn't necessarily mean that this video isn't interesting at all. In fact, I think it's worth watching. It's also quite humourous and features plenty of crashes, even an explosion! And, despite the fact that the automobiles were all retro, they somehow produced V8 sounds, too! You bet, the sounds are fake, of course. One thing that caught my attention was the guy driving the blue muscle car. He must have been like a really skilled driver if he existed in real life. He seemed to know every inch of the city and where he can escape the chasing police officers through narrow alleyways, well, until the car finally exploded, of course. LUXE37, I wonder if the ambulances actually managed to rescue that driver in the end? He was burning, you see.

ST Forum Jun 9, 2011 Sent on a wild goose chase for iPad ON MONDAY morning, I spent a great deal of time searching for a store selling the new iPad 2 and after being told that it was sold out at all the Apple stores, I surfed the Internet to find a promotional deal with SingTel and called to make inquiries. A customer service officer told me it was available on a limited basis at some stores on a walk-in, first come, first served basis. He said I would have the greatest chance at the ComCentre outlet near Killiney Road as this was the headquarters. It was important to me as I wanted to present this to my daughter for her birthday yesterday and as a graduation gift. So I cancelled an important appointment and got to ComCentre around noon on Monday only to learn that the iPad 2 was completely sold out and was not even available when they opened that day. I called SingTel's customer service again and made the same inquiry only to be told the same thing by the second customer service officer - that if I went down to ComCentre, the device would be available for walk-in customers on a first come, first served basis. I was very unhappy and disappointed with this wrong information and for being misled into believing that there would be a chance to purchase the item. In actual fact, the iPad 2 was not available for any walk-in customer and I was sent on a wild goose chase. I spoke with the customer service manager, who apologised and offered to compensate me by waiving my mobile phone charges for two months. It is completely inexcusable for a company like SingTel to provide incorrect information that resulted in loss of my time and expense and caused me great inconvenience. IT WAS a scene right out of a Hollywood action movie. The car weaved in and out of traffic with the cops in hot pursuit. From time to time, the driver swerved violently, barely missing other vehicles. He even drove against the flow of traffic to evade his pursuers. But Friday's early morning highway drama was the real thing. Two traffic police officers on motorcycles gave chase when a speeding car refused to stop on the Seletar Expressway (SLE). The driver in his saloon car was first spotted at about 1.15am. He was heading towards the Bukit Timah Expressway and was driving above the 90kmh speed limit. When one of the traffic cops signalled him to stop, the driver ignored him. Instead of pulling over, the driver led them on a chase that could have cost a police officer his life. Weaving in and out of the lanes, the driver, who had a passenger, led the cops into Woodlands Avenue 2. There, he suddenly swerved. While trying to avoid the car, Staff Sergeant Helmi Amri ended up mounting a kerb and crashing his motorcycle into some railings. The traffic police officer hurt his back in the crash and was later sent to National University Hospital. But the chase did not end there. The other traffic cop, Corporal (Cpl) Firoz, continued to give chase. Things began to get more dangerous when the driver decided to go against the flow of traffic on Woodlands Street 31. Cpl Firoz negotiated the oncoming traffic while keeping an eye on his target. Fortunately, traffic was light at the time. By the time he reached Woodlands Avenue 1, the driver realised he could not shake off the police. He gave up, stopped his car and was arrested for dangerous driving. The 20-year-old was found to have been driving without a valid driver's licence. Acting Commander Traffic Police Superintendent Poh Lye Hin commended his officers for their vigilance and dedication in keeping the roads safe during this festive season. He said: "We would like to remind motorists that it is a very serious offence to drive dangerously or recklessly. Motorists who drive in such a manner endanger not only their lives, but that of other road users as well. "Traffic Police will not hesitate to take action against such irresponsible motorists." Was gg home from east side to north side using TPE. It was quite late like 1am. Was sleepy and i was driving fast to get home early. Didnt saw a TP bike hiding below the flyover. By the time i reacted, it was too late. The white angel chiong up the bike and give chase for me. Of course i slow down and towards the road shoulder. Not a good experience laa... i get out of the car feeling like s--t. siannn there goes my points....

TWO police cars had to abandon a 200km car chase because one had a defective siren and the other's radiator hose blew, while a police helicopter crew lacked the necessary maps for the chase. Two teenagers are being questioned after the high-speed car chase from Sydney's west to Mudgee. It began when police tried to stop a Subaru WRX at St Marys about 8.30pm (AEST) yesterday, police said today. They chased the car to the Bells Line of Road. The Subaru avoided road spikes put down by police at the weighbridge at Bell in the Blue Mountains, and Lithgow Police took over the pursuit. The chase continued through Lithgow to Mudgee, down the Castlereagh Highway, where police stopped the chase for safety reasons after the Subaru turned onto a dirt track. Lithgow Police today arrested two male teenagers at about 5.10am after a Lithgow service station worker became suspicious of a vehicle and its occupants. The teens were being interviewed by police. Chifley Local Area Command Superintendent Martin Wookey said the two police cars had to pull out of the chase because one had a defective siren and the other's radiator hose blew. "That's what happens," he said. "We (NSW Police) have a fleet of I think 14,000 and the cars are new and well maintained, but sometimes there are faults." The Polair police helicopter tracking the offenders also had to pull out of the chase because of the terrain and rising fog, he said. The crew did not have maps of the area. "It (Polair) took off from its base on another job then they were advised about the pursuit," Supt Wookey said. "They can't carry every map because the helicopter wouldn't be able to take off so they only take the ones they need. "In this instance they were coming from another job and didn't have the right maps with them." Supt Wookey said Polair had tracked the Subaru with spotlights and thermal tracking. "With a pursuit over two hours over 200km and no injuries or damage to property, I am very proud of them (officers)," he said.
