Paint protection services in Singapore are increasingly gaining popularity, and it's easy to understand why. Despite our best efforts of regularly washing and cleaning our cars, it can be mightily difficult and frustrating to keep our cars looking in tip top condition. A devilish combination of our erratic hot and wet weather, combined with the dust in the air that comes from numerous sources (such as the constant construction projects around the island or simply just the sheer number of cars on the road), means that it is virtually impossible to drive from one place to another without getting your car dirty. New Age Polish started out as a single-man mobile service, and has grown in size as well as services offered Many drivers have also wisened up to the value of paint protection systems, which help to both mitigate the build up of dirt on their cars, as well as helping to provide a high gloss finish that allows the car to look consistently spanking new. Of course, car grooming services also offer us a particular convenience that all Singaporeans love - time. It saves drivers the precious hours needed to repeatedly wash and polish their cars. After all, who really wants to spend tedious hours during the weekends cleaning your car when you could be spending more time with your loved ones, or even just in bed? Who is New Age Polish and what services does it offer? New Age Polish is a car grooming centre that focuses mainly on paint protection. Starting out as a single-man mobile service, the company opened a retail store in 2015. Helmed by Gabriel, the permanent retail store allows him to expand his range of services and equipment to offer a more comprehensive range of grooming services and packages. One aspect that distinguishes Gabriel from others is also the fact that he is a very hands-on boss, undertaking much of the work himself, together with his small team. At New Age Polish, the range of services include quality foam wash, polishing and waxing, pest fumigation, steam cleaning and anti-bacteria treatment, leather restoration, leather protection coating, as well as the two main services of paintwork restoration and paint protection coating. Paintwork restoration is one of the more popular services, and Gabriel highlights that many drivers with older cars tend to take up this particular service. It allows seven to eight-year old cars to look brand new. New Age Paint Protection System New Age Polish offers three paint protection regimes tailored for different customers The main focus for New Age Polish is its Paint Protection System. Developed to counter many of the issues that drivers face, such as damage from chemical and environmental contaminants, paint oxidation and the loss of the paint's hydrophobic effect, much research has been undertaken over the years to source for the right products to offer the highest level of paint protection. [at New Age Polish offers paint protection regimes: Kubebond Nano Ceramic Coating (Kubebond Diamond 9H). Priced to cater to customers with different requests ($380 and up), the three packages offer high gloss levels, scratch resistance, chemical resistance, protection against UV exposure and oxidation, hydrophobic water repellent effect, smoothness and durability. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r--sMCYL4gs These paint protection systems help to prevent against water marks, dirt and algae, as well as presenting a high-gloss wet look finish at all times. It is also wallet-friendly, as it drastically reduces cleaning frequencies, with no more polishing or waxing required. These paint protection systems are suitable for all paint finishes, including matt paint. Both New Age Ceramic and New Age Hybrid also come with a three-year warranty period, and have a durability of three and five years respectively. New Age Polish Pte Ltd is located at 11 Yishun Industrial Street 1 #01-112 North Spring Biz Hub S768089. To find out more, you can visit the company's Facebook page. Hi all, I am cross shopping between these 2 products. Sensha is about $840 (8 years warranty) and Ceramic Pro Gold package is $1660 (7 years warranty) What are your thought? Specifically, is there any difference in the coating technology? Should I go for the cheaper version? Thank you.

Based on positive online reviews (should realise that some of them are probably fake), I engaged ceramic works to coat my front windshield and bonnet. They claimed to use a brand called kubebond. Alas, it was a huge mistake! In less than a year, the windshield coating lost its effectiveness. Even at 80km/h, the water droplets still cling to the windshield. Also, ugly water spots start to appear on the windshield. The paint coating also sucks! Mud stains which were cleaned off within an hour still left marks on the bonnet. Their pricing is on the high side compared to other detailers, but their products are so shitty! A word of advice - choose your detailer carefully. Don’t just look at online reviews because a lot of them are fake anyway.

Hi Guys, Im getting my new ride with free ceramic coating done by Zertona from the AD. Still deciding whether to go for it as i had tested 2 different company for my previous rides before. Not very impressed and very disappointed in the previous experiences from some "famous" brand. Any guys have tried Zertona services before or gotten the same coating fro m their AD? Appreciate inputs and feedbacks TYVM!

A colleague of mine raved about this after he applied on his new car. Despite the good things, he did complained that he needed to use his polishing tool to remove the hardened layer on a small segment of the car body after he took too long to buff it away, which he shared was only about 1 minute. But other than that, if follow the instruction to the T and be very kiasu to buff it straight away after applying, it will be alright. So I read online on this product for awhile to know what I am getting myself into. Actually I have just paid $550 for a coating but I was not very satisfied with the finishing as its hydrophobic quality was not really great. And the more I read, the more I am impressed, especially with the many positive reviews posted. I knew that they can't be all false as my colleague's testimonial is real one. So subsequently I took the plunge to get it on Amazon, paying about $100 with delivery. But applying it took some effort as need to cater for curing time of 2 full days meaning must have good weather and able to do without car for at least a day. So when all the stars aligned, I manage to do it but met with a few hiccups. The day I applied leave it was cloudy and threatening to pour, and I manage to start only at about 2pm after the sky started clearing. As a result I worked till 830pm under insufficient light condition, and missed a few small spots as a result. Applying was straight forward enough. Just dab the small bottle of liquid onto 1 of the 10 cotton pads provided and wipe on the car body. Divide the car into about 10 panels and use a pad for each panel. After apply the coating on a panel, use a clean cloth to buff it off straight away. Sound easy and indeed quite easy to do. But as the liquid dry up very fast, the wiping off (buffing) must be done within 20sec else it will harden and will need to use polishing tools to remove it. Sound scary haha. The process started quite promisingly. I worked on the bonnet first. As the Vellfire bonnet is very small, doing it in 2 parts worked very well. But when it come to the 4 doors, that was when got headache. As Vellfire doors are huge, I should have divided into 3 panels but I was abit impatient and tried to do it under 2 panels. So when I finish applying the coating and got to doing buffing straight away, the time taken for the coating to dry was too long as started to harden causing hazy look to happen. I quickly hasten the buffing process and manage to reduce the damage. But can see a small fist-size hazy spot already. A bit sian, but I pressed on to do the rest of the car as no turning back already. As the instruction was not to apply on glass surface, I applied on all the plastic parts including bumpers also the wheels. The morning after, the car body felt smooth, unlike the $550 coating job I just did which is the norm. The smoothness is akin to doing waxing. I was quite relieve that it went well after checking the car, could see a few hazy spots but I have learnt to take it easy. Next time will do it better haha. It had been about 2 months since I applied the coating, and the hydrophobic effect still very strong as expected. And the car definitely feel more slick and washing is much more easy. Once you spray water, it will just rush down. The leaf blower will definitely be able to dry the car very quickly. On hindsight, I should have divided the bigger panels into more sub panels to do the coating, and get someone to help if possible. If one person apply the coating, and another do the buffing will be perfect. In the market under DIY category, I would think only Opti-gloss come close. I have applied it before. Comparatively easier to apply, but seems the effect not as strong as this ZR53 coating. But as this ZR53 is not so forgiving when it comes to application, Opti-gloss would be suitable for those doing it the first time. I will definitely buy this ZR53 again in few years time to redo the coating if I am still holding on to this ride haha.. Read up the reviews to understand more about the product if you keen to do. Bear in mind that if your car is not new, you will need to polish it first, else all the imperfections will be locked up for the next few years. But nonetheless there is still merit, as your car will be much easier to wash and will not get worse haha. Bottom line is that this Naisol ZR53 is definitely worth the effort if you want to protect the paint of your car but not willing to spend more than $100. You will agree that this is the best way to spend the $100 after doing it up haha. https://www.amazon.com/NASIOL-LOVE-PROTECT-ORIGINAL-Protection/dp/B0722MCBBT/ref=sr_1_cc_1?s=aps&ie=UTF8&qid=1532656848&sr=1-1-catcorr&keywords=zr53 https://www.nasiol.com/nasiol-zr53-nano-ceramic-coating

Firstly, I don't work for any of these folks, but I think I had a good time with them, so I'm giving them a shoutout. As some of you know, I've had a baby, yeah! However in my haste to run about preparing, I managed to scratch my bumper against a post whilst shopping for my wife and baby - boo! I also had a deep scratch that some terrible person keyed onto my bonnet within a week of my getting the car.. that has been an eyesore because it occured so soon after I got my car. I have tried polishing it off, but it was too deep for that. Thankfully, my bonnet was made from aluminium, so my agent said it's ok and it did not breach the base coat. I did ask around about doing that but the downtime was something I didn't want to incur so I have lived with the scratch for a while. However when I scratched my bumper and a bit of the side of the car, I decided I will get it fixed together. As it would be, my baby come and everything else had to put on the back burner. I also changed my battery, but the man came over to do it, and it was fast and smooth, I recommend Clement and the battery company: 8166 4455 I then asked him for a shop that could fix my scratches. He gave me a contact: Sprayboxx https://www.facebook.com/sprayboxxsg/ 9888 9707, Douglas is the boss. He is an interesting guy, having opened this shop during the Covid times. He was previously a corporate person, and now he has his own shop, doing paint, dents and not only for cars, but he does bicycles and even boats! So when you get a dent / scratch, some things you want to take note of: - take pictures, especially if you want to file any claims later do it from different angles and make sure the pictures are clear, well lit and do close ups as well as wide angle shots show how deep it is, where it is, and give a reference, like a ruler or put your hand in the shot too - the depth is key, if it breaches the base layer then you need to get it fixed soon as there is a real risk of rust. Every car has the same four layers, some do more repetitions but essentially they are: https://www.researchgate.net/figure/Schematic-of-a-typical-four-layer-automotive-coating-system_fig1_281575817 https://autodometer.com/blog/5 layers of car paint Many vandals don't breach the base layer, so you can wait if someone keys your car. However if it's a dent and the base layer is involved, you may want to get it done asap. - think of the down time you need and try not to rush it. You have the kind of paint job where 2nd hand car dealers will simply spray on a thin coat to make the car look nice. There's no sanding or preparation of the car. It's fast and cheap but doesn't last and is not as good as the original paint. If you bought a decent car, the original paintwork is always best. Douglas recommended retaining it if the scratches are not that deep and can be polished off. - paint / polish or more So if your car is well maintained, free of stains from bird poop or other chemicals that ruin the original paintwork, you may wish to retain the original paintwork, opting for a polish or a ceramic coat instead. However a polish will not work it is too deep as mentioned. Douglas was willing to try but as predicted, it was too deep. - doing a good paint job requires removal of the parts, eg doors, bonnet etc but that takes time So in my car, I opted for a combination: repair the scratch on the side, paint that and the bonnet, then polish and finish off with a ceramic coat. I told him about my predicament, in fact, the day I wanted to send my car in, my baby came! So I had to put off the job for a couple of weeks until I could find time and he could slot me in too as many wanted a refresh for CNY. I sent my car in on a Friday after work, and he immediately started work on the scratch. Thankfully the sensors on the bumper were ok so that just needed some paint. He will paint the rear scratch and the dent, then bake the car, and finally polish and apply the ceramic coat. We used this Meguair's product: Knowing I need the car urgently for all the medical appointments, he got his workers to work really late for the coat so I could get my car back by Monday. In fact he finished the job early and now I have a shiny car all ready for CNY 🙂 I had a couple of ceramic coats which came free with the purchase and I polish my car myself, so the car was otherwise pretty clean and that helps. If you have a lot of bird stains, then check your paintwork to see if it will be sufficient to polish. Some advice after the coating: - just a light wash, with water or a light shampoo if it's really dirty. - avoid rain or water for day if possible

Paint correction is also known as swirl mark removal, machine polishing or buffing. The definition of paint correction is the removal of all imperfections in paintwork, such as scratches, water marks, dried bug remains and fading to reproduce an as new condition or better. The process is undertaken by a professional detailer or someone with quite a few years experience in understanding how the structure of paint is applied on a vehicle. It involves the use of a machine polisher, a selection of abrasive compounds and an assortment of buffing pads, together with regular checks with a paint depth gauge whilst polishing, to keep record of exactly how much paint is being abraded away. Why Consider Paint Correction? A car’s paint has to endure a lot of challenges thrown up by the environment ·Traffic grime and grit · Tree sap, industrial fallout, bird muck, dead bugs · Road Tar ·Water spots (Rain-waterspots) ·People brushing against the car with their clothing or bags ·Poor machine or hand polishing techniques ·Cheap and nasty car washes Sadly all of these things can leave the finish of a car looking less than perfect and at worst, dull, faded and covered in light scratches, swirls and other marring. Those things detract from your car’s appearance and ultimately reduce its value. Will Removed Marks Reappear? NO. Any marring is permanently removed by our paint correction techniques, so the marks cannot reappear. New marks may appear over time (we can’t stop future scratches), but we’ll provide you with free simple advice to help limit future damage caused by wrong technique of washing and making sure you keep the paintwork in top condition all year round. At NEW AGE POLISH our services are designed around you. We provide car care packages to suit your needs, so that we are able to polish your car whenever you feel it is needed. Came across this local brand Artdeshine Graphene Detailer on Shoppee and decided to give it a try. Did my usual rinseless wash and just sprayed it on my wet car as a drying aid. Have to say it applies more like a spray sealant than a quick detailer but it's easy enough to use. Website says durability is shorter with wet application but I am happy to sacrifice some durability to save time. My car has a ceramic coating to be transparent so it usually looks good but I have to say the gloss and reflections with this detailer is truly impressive. I can see a noticeable improvement in depth of gloss and water repellency especially after driving through heavy downpours lately. Attached some pictures I took just after applying.

Porsche's carbon ceramic brakes not suited for hard track use
chitchatboy posted a blog entry in MyAutoBlog
A Porsche Australia senior technical representative has revealed that its optional carbon ceramic brakes aren’t suited for hard use on the track contrary to what we thought so. We have been told many times by many manufacturers that carbon ceramic brakes can be useful for track work as they can run through multiple heat cycles without fading, thereby becoming the default choice for owners who enjoy track days. However, Which Car's interview with Porsche Australia at the launch of the 992-generation Porsche 911, brought to light that these expensive brake systems can degrade quite quickly when abused. “Yes, ceramic discs can degrade if you’re hard on the brakes. Heat build-up will degrade the carbon fibers in the disc, so if you’re doing club days we’d always recommend iron discs,” Paul Watson said. “We learned that lesson a long time back. When we first launched the discs, we told people they’d last virtually for the life of the car and people were doing a number of trackdays and coming back to us saying ‘I’ve worn them out’”, he added on. Interestingly, Watson claims that Porsche's target audience for the carbon ceramic brakes are those that don’t like cleaning their wheels because these brakes “don’t leave a build-up of brake dust.” -

I am sure there are way too may polish company out there. Some have mention 9H hardness Some say glass coating other says ceramic coat But is there like a standard where optical brightness or coating before and after have a benchmark of quality that you can identify with other than, wah swee. Polish liao kilat kilat. May not mean much. Plus you spending a $1xxx into it. Only to have word of mouth from one person to the next. Is there like a tick, check box like window tint to validate the shine ?

Hi, I would like to seek your opinions on the choice of these 3 detailers that have shops in the West part of Singapore: 1. Ceramic Pro by 5dSolutions, ~$1100+ 2. Revol, ~$800+ 3. Blacknano, ~$400-$500+ 4. Supremo, ~$500+ I am prefer packages with 3 years warranty (for apple to apple comparison), covers interior coating and provides post sales car wash services. All packages expect you to go back for annual checks or maintenance which usual is around $100 - $150 range. Which packages would you recommend? It seems that Ceramic Pro and Revol have a lot of good recommendations. As a side note, Ceramic Pro and Supremo have 5 years warranty packages but I am not sure if it is good to for those? Thanks in advance!

Hi guys, I was wondering if any of you noticed from the various pictures posted online that seem to suggest that white cars does not shine as much as dark colors (especially black) cars when they have undergone some ceramic pps. I don't think this is brand/groomer specific as I have looked through all the pics from the various groomers offering pps but cannot find a white car that look as glossy as a black car. Any white car owner who has done a pps can comment on this?
