This blanket ban on cats should be repealed. 😀 If dogs are allowed to be kept in HDBs, then the same should be allowed for cats. Homeowners should be allowed to keep cats, provided they are microchipped, vaccinated and registered with AVA, the same standards held for dogs. Cats should be kept indoors and not allowed to free roam for their own safety. Cat owners who allow their cats to free-roam will face the possibility of getting their cats rehomed if found outdoors or causing disturbances to other HDB dwellers such as defecating and urinating in public areas. Punish the irresponsible cat owners, not the animals. The same can be said for dog owners who don't pick up their dogs poop. Shedding fur. They've obviously not seen the amount of fur shed by dogs. 😅 ANYWAYS, SURVEY TIME. HELP OUR CATS! The Animal & Veterinary Service (AVS), a cluster of the National Parks Board (NParks) is seeking feedback from the public on our proposed strategies for the management of pet and community cats in Singapore to form a framework that aims to safeguard public health, and better protect the health and welfare of Singapore’s pet and community cats. The proposed cat management framework comprises three strategies that we are seeking views on: (i) Including pet cats in the licensing and microchipping scheme; (ii) Expanding the Trap-Neuter-Rehome/Release-Manage (TNRM) Programme for free-roaming dogs to community cats; and (iii) Promoting responsible community cat caregiving, adoption of cats, and responsible cat ownership through engagement and outreach. Your feedback will help us refine the proposed cat management framework. Click the link below to participate in our online survey, or scan the QR code. The consultation is open from 3 September to 2 November 2022. https://mothership.sg/2020/11/tan-chuan-jin-adopts-cat/ On Nov. 17, Tan announced on social media that he has recently adopted a male kitten. Tcj stay condo or landed? As long as Windows n gates meshed up, ensure cats not able to leave the house, dun see why cats are any different from dogs Cats dun bark also I assume less disruptive It's only a problem when some owner want cats but still insist on letting their cats roam freely Those should be punished but dun penalise the rest of us from having cats

There's already a thread on fire but just want to highlight this particular one. Courageous neighbours helps to put out fire in hdb flat b4 scdf arrives. Salute these men for going out of the way to help a neighbour. defo can sleep well at night if i know i have such helpful guys living nearby. https://stomp.straitstimes.com/singapore-seen/heroic-residents-suffer-scratches-after-saving-cats-from-yishun-hdb-unit-on-fire?fbclid=IwAR0TE6r2u76uIy4CECtqn5CzuRcDcSjopwhM4M1atl73iPG_tWYq4ZRAdz8 Watch the video on Stomp. and lastly five cats in hdb. as we all know cats are nt allowed in hdb flats but the unspoken rule is tat if nobody complain then you can keep ur cats. for such a case highlighted in public, wat will happen to the cats? will hdb do anything? Two brave men stepped forward to save five cats after a fire broke out in a unit at Block 257 Yishun Ring Road on Sunday morning (July 14). Stomper Francis, Kohji and Wati alerted Stomp to the incident and shared photos and videos taken at the scene. The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) told Stomp that they responded to the fire at about 10.10am. The fire involved the contents of a bedroom in a unit on the third floor and was extinguished by the SCDF using two compressed-air foam (CAF) backpacks. Two people were taken to hospital due to suspected smoke inhalation, a spokesman said. Preliminary investigations indicate a personal mobility device (PMD) was being charged when the fire occurred. "Two selfless heroes managed to rescue the cats before the SCDF arrived, getting injured in the process," said Francis, who lives a few blocks away from the affected block. "Five cats were rescued and one of them was, unfortunately, slightly burnt." His photos showed long scratches on one of the men's arms. He also shared a video of the men who were joined by other Yishun residents as they tried to put out the fire with water-filled buckets and a hose.

For me personally it would be animals (dogs/cats) dashing out onto the road. Even if you're traveling at a reasonable speed (say 50-60), if the said animal is too near, it would be almost impossible to avoid it. My friend has ever encountered a car tyre in ECP. He was lanesplitting on his Hayabusa when the person infront jammed brake but he couldn't change his course or ebrake. He went right over it and broke his gear lever and chipped off some fairing. Lucky to be alive. If his bike was any smaller, doubt he would be able to make it across.

Ever wonder why the MIWs suddenly got so compassionate towards animals rights recently... especially cats... Well, there seems to be a research that ppl who get infected with Toxoplasma gondii a single cell parasite supposedly spread by cats tend to show ...long term personality changes...displaying a symptom called Neuroticism... Though the parasite seems relatively harmless ( except to infants)...neuroticism is a psychological trait that co-related well with the level toxoplama gondii infection found in thaty country.. Women who get infected tend to be more intelligent, affectionate, social and more likley to stick to rules.. Men who get infect tend to be less intelligent but more loyal, frugal and mild tempered... Ppl affected tend to have stronger focus on work, ambition and money... And strongly infected society tend to be more likley to avoid risk and embrace strict rules and regulation.... there you have it.... Since they cannot win well this time round and will show a worse result if they don't really totally change...they need a sinister agent to help them! Of course, this could all be a myth... as to what the parasite can do but noting their desperation after defeat...they seem to be willing to try anything!

I have 2 ragdolls that requires rehoming. They are a pair of healthy 5.5yrs old bicolor (male) and blue mitted (female) ragdolls that have been together since they were kittens. They are spayed and litterbox trained. At age 5yrs plus, they seemed to be semi retired. The female seems very contented lazing around, loves human contact whereas the male is more active, willing to roam around the house and can be spotted easily. You will be screened before i allow any adoption. There will be no fees and their remaining food, litterbox and litter, treats and food containers will be given if you wish. Priority will be given to those whom can adopt them as a pair as they had been together since young and i wish they will not be seperated. Would appreciate if you can ask around if any of your cat loving friends would like to adopt them. Contact me at 9799 9947 or email Have a nice day. Kenji (Male) Kylie (Female)

The cats in my area love to jump onto cars at night to sleep, sometimes they also jump on when fighting. The issue is that they leave rather deep scratch marks and these could not be removed...haiz...wonder is there any way to prevent that other than using a dog to guard the car.

Some cats like to lie on the roof of cars, perhaps for the warmth that is radiated from the heated metal. However, this can bring displeasure to some owners when they find scratches on the car's surface. Blaming the cats and complaining to the Town Council may result in the killing (aka "culling") of community cats. Of course, this "problem" will then recur as new cats will move in

Was thinking whether should I go out and eat lunch just now... Luckily I have made the choice of lunching in.... Cos it's raining cats and dogs outside now, and I have just spent 3 hours yesterday polishing the car... Else, got to spent another 10-15 mins drying up the car now..
