Two people were sent to the National University Hospital (NUH) after the car they were in burst into flames along the Bukit Timah Expressway (BKE).
The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said they received a call about a car on fire at 1.20pm on Friday. The car was on the BKE towards the Pan-Island Expressway (PIE), near the Bukit Panjang exit when it caught fire.
Two fire bikes, a fire engine, red rhino and ambulance were sent to the scene, and the fire was extinguished within five minutes using a hosereel, said the SCDF.
A man and a woman, both in their twenties, were sent conscious to NUH with abrasions and body pains sustained in an earlier accident with a truck.
